Abstract: The disclosure includes a portable fire pit comprising a housing, a first pair of wheels operatively coupled to a front portion of the housing, a second pair of wheels operatively coupled to a rear portion of the housing, and a fire pit coupled to a top portion of the housing, wherein the fire pit comprises at least one solid vertical wall. In some embodiments, the portable fire pit also includes a cover that converts to a table, as well as a suspension grate to hold firewood and a grill rack to hold food above the fire pit. The grill rack may be configured to be located at different heights above the fire pit, and may also be configured to rotate between positions directly over and to the side of the fire pit.

Abstract: A fire poker is provided which is comprised of an elongate shaft, a handle at one end of the shaft and a longitudinal hook member near the second end of the shaft. The shaft has a bend located at a position between the handle and the hook member. Alternatively, the shaft may have a plurality of bends located at positions between the handle and the hook member. The plurality of bends divides the shaft into a plurality of sections, and the section of the shaft that contacts the hook member is preferably in the same plane as the section that contacts the handle. The at least one bend in the shaft of the fire poker provides for a device that is more comfortable to wield, is better from an ergonomic perspective and allows for considerably easier manipulation of the fuel of a fire.

The handle and holder portion are formed of a plastic material and the handle pivots between an unlocked position and a locked position in which the handle is locked in place with respect to the holder portion.

Abstract: A tool to be used for controlling campfires. This tool is has a bright or reflective mainshaft to place users on notice of its location, and its potentially dangerous temperature. This tool has a hook portion to accommodate standard sizes of camp fire wood for the control thereof. This tool also has a straight arm that extends beyond the hook portion to control the fire while poking at it, with no interference from the hook portion. The handle also has a directional compass. Further, a thermal barrier collar may be disposed adjacent the mainshaft or handle.

Abstract: A grilling implement and method of use thereof, the grilling implement comprising at least one hook having a tip, a shaft and a heel. The shaft and heel lie coplanar, and the tip curves upward out of the plane of the shaft and heel such that the hook can be passed under the tines of a grill grate, and the tip thereof maneuvered over the grill tines to securely hold the grate. The grilling implement further comprises at least one bar lying coplanar with the heel and shaft of the hook, wherein the bar supports the grill grate when rotated under the tines of the grate. The grilling implement can also be utilized to maneuver charcoal briquettes or break apart natural charcoal logs.

Abstract: The subject device is an apparatus used to assist in the collection of debris, particularly debris that is on the ground or on the floor, such device comprising a hand-held member adapted to temporarily hold a flexible container thereon, the opening of which container is exposed on the forward portion of member so that debris on the ground can be collected in a scooping manner into the container without the need of manually retrieving same or without the need of external objects to help push the debris into the container, such apparatus having a base member apparatus in a position to hold the container with its opening being exposed in a position to receive debris.

Abstract: A pet waste disposal device having a handle with a squeeze grip for actuating a sweep arm adjacent the ground for urging objects on the ground into a hoop portion having a bag attached such that when the device is lifted toward the horizontal objects in the hoop portion fall into the bag. The bag is detachable from the hoop portion being secured thereto by a band around the bag and the hoop portion. The hoop portion has a lip such that the band will not slip off the hoop and will secure the bag to the hoop. Optionally the hoop portion is rotatably secured to the device such that objects may be picked up from the side of the handle or in front of the handle. A spring attached to the device opposes the squeeze grip to default the device in the open position with the sweep member away from the hoop. However a pin on the squeeze grip can be engaged by a member on the horizontal handle to lock the sweep member in a position adjacent to the hoop.

Abstract: A mechanical apparatus for sequentially loading multiple quantities of articles or animal droppings from the surface of the earth into a disposable bag or receptacle is formed by an upright open frame assembly vertically supporting a telescoping handle member. Upon downward telescoping movement of the handle, with the frame assembly supported by the surface of the earth, a panel sweep assembly is vertically pivoted about a horizontal axis to propel articles on the surface of the earth into the open end of a receptacle, adjacent and attached to the frame assembly. The receptacle is removable to dispose of the articles therein.

Abstract: A sanitary, portable pickup-and transporting device for unclean material such as animal droppings and which permits the user to collect the material in a disposable bag supported on the pickup device for ready removal and replacement by a fresh bag. The pickup device includes an elongated body having a handle at one end and a pickup arrangement at its other end. The pickup arrangement includes a pair of bails wherein a stationary bail is fixed to a yoke member carried on the end of the body and a movable bail is movable with respect to the body and is also carried on the yoke member. An actuating mechanism is carried on the body and includes an elongated rod having a lever mechanism carried on one end adjacent to the handle and having an offset connection carried on the other end of the rod forming apart of the movable bail. A resilient device is provided for returning the movable bail to a position immediately adjacent to the fixed or stationary bail.

Abstract: A pooper scooper system for collecting pet feces from grass and pavement areas. The inventive device includes an elongated pole having a channel extending interiorly thereof. The channel opens into an enlarged chamber at a lower end of the pole. The enlarged chamber has an open lower end exiting the lower end of the pole. An upper end of the pole has a handle integrally formed therewith in an angular relationship with respect thereto. The pole has an opening at the upper end thereof leading into the channel at its uppermost extent. A trigger mechanism is slidably coupled with respect to the elongated pole. The trigger mechanism includes a trigger slidably disposed within the opening at the upper end of the pole. An elongated rod is slidably positioned within the channel. The rod has an upper end secured to the trigger. A pair of pivoting arms are pivotally coupled with respect to the elongated pole and the trigger mechanism.

Abstract: A sanitary, portable, light weight, and hand held and actuated refuse and waste collection device, and more particularly a telescopically adjustable, refuse and animal dung collection valet configured for convenient and sanitary collection of refuse and animal waste without the need for direct user contact with the refuse or animal dung and compatible for use with readily available disposal bags. The sanitary refuse and animal dung collection valet includes a collector assembly having two tubes pivotally connected in a lever or scissors arrangement. The user grips and actuates the handles of the valet on the upper end of the tubes to scoop the waste from the ground and into a refuse collection receptacle such as a disposable bag. The bag is supported at a lower end of the valet on a support frame connected to one of the tubes and which is opposingly positioned to cooperate with a pusher paddle connected to the lower end of the other tube.

Abstract: A collecting device and a collecting tool for gathering animal feces matter comprising a flat member having a chute therethrough, a bag positioning member is fixed to the bottom of the flat member and bag securing members fixed to each of the flat member. The collecting tool has a scraping blade to gather feces matter from clear surfaces and a rake to gather feces matter from grass and other growth covered surfaces. The handles each have a flat side to facilitate carrying the device and tool in one hand.

Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses a device for collecting animal waste. The device has a generally upright standing handle member 14 equipped with a trigger 16 which communicates through a rod 30 in the hollow body of the handle 14 with a lower compartment door assembly 18 for collecting the animal waste. The lower compartment 12 is equipped with a front door 18 which is pivotally connected 44 to the trigger 16 through the rod member 30. The lower compartment 12 houses a slidably mounted tray 20 therein which tray holds a disposable bag member 52 in which bag the animal waste is placed after it is scooped into the lower compartment 12. The trigger 16 is also equipped with a locking mechanism 17 to hold the door 18 open while waste is being placed therein.

Abstract: A hand-held waste collection device comprising a handle having first and second ends and a waste receptacle mounted to the handle second end, the receptacle including a top surface, a bottom surface and side walls forming an open front end and an open back end, and a slot formed in each of the side walls, each of the sidewall slots adjacent the bottom surface and substantially parallel thereto whereby a liner may be slidingly received over the receptacle top surface and the side walls to thereby be maintained in an open position for receiving waste therein.

Abstract: A refuse collection device includes an elongated tubular assembly comprising an inner tube, an intermediate tube and an outer tube telescoping each other and a bag mount supporting thereon a refuse collection bag attached to the lower end of the tubular assembly and closable by means of a pivoting cover. A manual control is provided, including a first grip fixed to the outer tube and a second grip fixed to the intermediate tube so as to allow the first grip and the outer tube to be movable relative to the second grip and the intermediate tube between an upper open position and a lower closed position. The cover is coupled to the outer tube so as to be driven thereby between the open position and the closed position. Spherical members are received within openings formed on the intermediate tube and spring-biased to selectively engage a recess formed on the outer tube so as to secure the outer tube in the open position.

Abstract: An animal waste collection and disposal device, adapted for use with disposable bags with handles, includes an elongated handle portion and a shovel portion adjustably attached thereto. The shovel portion includes an elongated, open-ended chute portion, a sifting portion extending at an acute angle from the chute and having a plurality of openings for removal of kennel gravel and dirt, and a lifting edge, which preferably includes a plurality of teeth for aiding in lifting the waste out of grass or other uneven terrain, which may extend at a second acute angle from the sifting portion. A pair of sidewalls extend along the longitudinal edges of the shovel portion, thereby preventing the animal waste from falling off of the shovel. The shovel is attached to the handle using a plurality of brackets and retention sleeves. The sleeves may be tightened about the handle, preferably with set screws.

Abstract: A refuse collecting device for collecting pet droppings from the ground. The refuse collecting device includes annular front and back bands with a plurality of spaced apart connecting rods extending therebetween to connect the front and back bands together. The end of an elongate shaft is coupled to the front band. A plurality of spaced apart elongate tines are outwardly extended from a front edge of the front band.

Abstract: A kitty litter scooper that allows users to clean out litter boxes without having to stoop and bend over, and allows users to move litter boxes without having to physically touch the litter box. The scooper includes a telescoping long handle that attaches to a receptacle by an adjustable swivel connection that allows the handle to be fixed to the receptacle at different angles. The receptacle has parallel slot apertures that are sized to allow granular materials such as sand and pet litter but nothing larger to pass therethrough. The receptacle includes a rear hook portion which can be used to hook over or under an edge of a litter box to move the litter box from underneath tables, furniture and the like. The receptacle further has an extended planar lip portion having a raised wedge thereon which helps keep clump contents within the receptacle.

The exposed end of the scoop member (20) is configured for scooping waste through the scoop member (20) into the bag (18), which is long enough to extend from the opposed end of the support body (16).

Abstract: The present invention provides a manually operated pick-up device particularly of the type for picking up items outside of normal reach. The manual pick-up device comprises a shaft, pick-up blades mounted at a bottom end of the shaft, a handle grip mounted at a top end of the shaft, and an actuator mounted on the handle grip. The pick-up blades are mounted at an angle to the shaft such that with the shaft angled downwards the contact edges of the blades lie in a substantially horizontal plane. Actuating the actuator causes the pick-up blades to move between an open position and a closed position causing the pick-up blades to pick up an item.

Abstract: A collection device is useful to scoop and bag refuse, such as pet excrement, from a surface. The device includes a handle that supports a working head that has an intake portion, a discharge portion and a guide portion therebetween. The working head has bag holders to secure a bag, such as a plastic grocery bag, with a mouth engaging the discharge portion so that refuse may be introduced into the intake at an upstream end and dumped into the bag at the downstream end. The intake portion has forwardly extending tines. The bag holder is shown as radial posts and/or a ring clamp. The handle may be either a short hand grip or preferably an elongate rod that permits use of the collection device while the user is standing. The working head is preferably cylindrical, but it may be flattened if desired.

The scoop includes a support hoop couplable to a carrying handle and a securing ring rotatably matingly engageable with the support hoop for pinning a waste bag therebetween. The securing ring is couplable to a torquing handle for accommodating manual rotation of the securing ring into mating engagement with the support hoop. A waste bag is positioned upon the support hoop so that the waste bag is maintained in an open configuration during use of the pet waste scoop. The waste bag has a lower pouch portion and an upper neck portion. The neck portion is draped over the support hoop so that the draped neck portion establishes a sanitary sheath about the support hoop. The waste bag is positioned upon the support hoop so that the waste bag is maintained in an open configuration during use of the pet waste scoop.

Abstract: An animal refuse collector/carrier device consisting of a long rectangular plastic container having a hinged cover at its top with a long rigid carrying handle attached to the cover. Included is a shovel with a collection scoop that is stored inside the container and secured to the handle. A disposable plastic bag is placed inside the container to hold animal feces retrieved using the shovel. The carrying handle includes a hook for fastening a leash while walking a pet. All the materials used, except for the shovel handle, are made of hard plastic and molded to obtain smooth surfaces for easy cleaning. The device is light in weight and inexpensive.

A grip in the form of a hollow cylinder fit over the tube is coupled to the inner cylinder so to be manually movable along the tube to move the inner cylinder inside the tube. A transverse positioning pin extends through slots formed on the inner cylinder to be moved thereby. A first wire connects the paddle to the positioning pin and has a first slack. A second wire connects the mount to the positioning pin and has a second slack.

Abstract: A device for scooping up animal waste and sealing it in an ordinary plastic film bag has a long handle for one handed operation at a distance from the waste. At one end of the handle is a pair of openable and closable jaws. The closed end of the bag is secured to a releasable clip between the jaws. The open end of the bag is everted over the free edges of the jaws. The open jaws with the open bag stretched between is then placed over the waste and the jaws closed, thus scooping the waste into the bag. The edges of the bag are then removed from the jaws and sealed with a tie. A locking mechanism keeps the jaws closed until ready to dispose of the sealed bag. The opening and closing and locking of the jaws may be performed with one hand by an operator mechanism located away from the jaws.

Abstract: A litter and refuse retrieval device for sanitarily and single-handedly cleaning up after a pet. The device includes an outer frame having a handle at one end and outer nipples at the other end for pivotally mounting two scoops. Each scoop includes extended disk portions with holes therethrough that overlap with the disk portions of the other scoop placing the holes in alignment for insertion of the outer nipples of the outer frame. An inner control frame is carried by the outer frame and includes linkage arms having outwardly extending cylindrical portions having nipples extending therefrom for pivotally mounting the two scoops adjacent to the outer nipples. In operation, the inner control frame is squeezed by the user toward a stop potion of the outer frame, causing the scoops to pivot in opposite directions. Also provided is a spring biasing mechanism for closing the scoops after the user has released the inner control frame.

Abstract: An animal waste collecting device in combination with a disposable flexible bag and other structural features. The device includes a hollow frame having an open forwardly facing end for receiving the bag. The open end of the bag is wrapped or folded around the open end of the frame and securable as by an elastic band to protect the frame open end from coming in contact with the animal waste being scooped into the bag. The frame also includes one or more structural features for supportively receiving a flashlight aimed in the same direction as the frame open end, providing a cavity for receiving a retractable pet leash assembly and providing a leash hand loop securing post. The flashlight support also serves as a carrying handle. When secured within the mating frame cavity provided, the retractable leash assembly is fully functional, including its carrying handle.

Abstract: A pick-up device for picking up animal feces, including a stick member, a D-shaped handle mounted on the stick member at one end, a scoop assembly mounted on the stick member at an opposite end, and a control mechanism mounted on the D-shaped handle and controlled to open/close the scoop assembly, the improvement comprising a casing supported between the stick member and the scoop assembly to hold a roll of continuous sheet of poly bags, wherein the leading poly bag of the roll of continuous sheet of poly bag can be pulled out of the casing, then inserted into the inside of the scoop assembly through a slot thereon, and then hung on the scoop assembly in an open position for picking up animal feces.

The valve permits water and air to flow out of the cup through the aperture and prevents water from entering the cup through the bottom end. Abstract: An apparatus is provided for grasping objects. It is particularly useful for grasping objects on the ground with the user in a standing position. The apparatus has particular utility in picking up animal droppings. it consists of two long arms with long, rigid handles and shorter, resilient shanks that cross and are pivotally connected to one another where they cross. Adjacent the pivot, each shank carries an object grasping head. When the heads are in engagement and the shanks are undeformed, the handles diverge so that the handles can be brought together to provide considerable force for grasping a thin-walled object such as a can, bag or the like. When the handles are brought together, they may be held in place using a loop of thong on one of the handles.

Abstract: A scooping and packaging assembly adapted to scoop up and package poop deposited on a surface by a pet animal on a surface so that one may then dispose of the poop. The assembly consists of a loop provided with a handle, a hand-held wand and a rectangular plastic-film bag whose dimensions are such that when the loop and wand are inserted into the bag through its open end, they are separated from each other to an extent permitting manipulation of the wand relative to the loop. In operating the assembly, the user, who in one hand grasps the handle of the loop, and in the other grasps the wand while holding onto the open end of the bag, advances the closed end of the bag along the surface toward the poop and manipulates the wand to push the poop onto the outside of the bag in the region within the confines of the loop, the poop depressing the region to form a pocket depending from the loop.

Abstract: A handheld device for picking up objects and its major components are a handgrip assembly, an elongated tubular member, a combination plunger and double bellcrank assembly, and structure connected to the front end of the bellcranks for picking up objects. The structure for picking up objects can be clamshell buckets, gripping jaws, or other desired structure. The combination plunger and double bell crank assembly has an elongated plunger having a head portion on its front end that reciprocates back and forth between the respective left and right side bellcrank members. Cam surfaces on the head portion contact distinctive surfaces of the recesses formed in the bellcrank member causing the structure for picking up objects to open their arms upon travel of the plunger and close their arms upon its return travel.

Abstract: A cylindrical receptacle has an open front end and a closed rear end. A handle leads rigidly from a side wall of the receptacle in a lateral direction at approximately 45.degree. from the longitudinal plane of the receptacle. In one embodiment the receptacle has longitudinal side openings of a length greater than one-half the length of the receptacle and of a dimension to hold scooped articles but to allow foreign material to fall or be shaken out. Another embodiment of the invention has a front fluted edge. In yet another embodiment, the receptacle has a closed side wall and the connection between the handle and the receptacle provides communication between the handle and the receptacle. In this embodiment the handle has a fitting at its free end for a garden hose whereby the receptacle can be cleaned by pressured water flowing through the handle.

Abstract: A device for retrieving and disposing of animal waste in a bag and method of use thereof wherein no parts of the device come into contact with the waste and the operator need not manipulate or otherwise touch the bag after it has contacted the waste. A clean bag is placed over a pair of spring-biased scoop members carried on the distal end of an elongated shaft. The scoop members and bag are placed in a hollow sleeve, open at both ends, where the scoop members are retained with terminal edges thereof in closely adjacent relation by the sleeve walls. As the bag and scoop members are advanced out of the lower end of the sleeve, the scoop members are moved to spaced relation by spring biasing, and the closed end of the bag is placed over the waste. Moving the lower end of the sleeve back over the scoop members turns the bag inside-out, and the waste-containing bag may then be discarded by again advancing the scoop members out of the sleeve.
