  • Patent number: 6962382
Abstract: A barrier system for deterring movement of people, pets and things from the rear of a vehicle into the forward seats of a vehicle includes a body. A plurality of mounting brackets are secured to the body and engaged by mounting members or straps. A back wall of the body may be constructed of a heavy-duty fabric and may also include a pocket or cup holder. In operation, the body is positioned in the passenger compartment in the space between two seats (e.g., the front driver and passenger seats or, in a large vehicle, between second row rear passenger seats). The mounting members are used to support the body in position. Once in position, the body deters the forward movement of persons, pets and things from the rear seats and into, for example, the driver's seat.

  • Patent number: 6871894
Abstract: A holding bar of a safety net separating a luggage compartment from a passenger compartment of an automobile vehicle has a tubular body from which holding members project at its end to engage in brackets close to the roof of the vehicle. Within the tube, the holders have enlarged ends which apply compression force to respective deformation bodies braced against constrictions of the tube so that the kinetic energy of a crash is converted to axial decompression deformation of those bodies. The bodies may be injection molded onto the shanks or can be formed of a plurality of parts and clipped together therearound.

  • Patent number: 6796589
Abstract: A barrier 1 comprises stanchion members 2 and guard elements 3. The stanchion members 2 are secured to the guard members 3 using clips 4 in order to create a robust, substantially planar barrier to divide a vehicle cabin space. A rear seat of a motor vehicle incorporates a backrest 5 in which headrests are normally secured through sockets 6. Thus, when the headrests are removed, these sockets 6 become available to accommodate entry segments 7 of the stanchion members 2. This mounts the barrier 1 on the backrest 5. The barrier may be used to partition the luggage/cargo area from the remainder of the cabin.
