    Abstract: A vehicle storage assembly includes a storage compartment having an opening to permit access to the compartment. A door adjacent the opening is moveable between a closed position that covers the opening and an open position that permits access to the compartment through the opening. The storage assembly further includes a controllable damper coupled to the door and actuable between high and low damping states, such that the door is maintained in one of the closed position, the open position, or any position therebetween when the controllable damper is in the high damping state. To move the door to a new position, the controllable damper is actuated from the high damping state to the low damping state whereby the door can then be freely moved to the desired position. The controllable damper may then be actuated from the low damping state to the high damping state to retain the door in the selected position.

The glove box comprises a receiving part opened or closed in a front side of the glove box about a hinge part provided at a lower portion of the glove box and having an inner receiving space formed in the receiving part to receive articles, a front cover formed on a front side of the receipt part, and a secondary cover to cover one side of an upper portion of the glove box in order to prevent the receiving articles from being ejected from the receiving part. The glove box can prevent the received articles from being ejected through the opened upper portion of the receiving part to the outside due to an impact, caused by vibration, collisions, and the like, during driving.

    Abstract: An apparatus for use with motorcycles is adapted to cooperate with an opening that is provided in a fairing, fuel tank, cowling, trunk, saddlebag or other accessory item of the motorcycle. A frame structure of the apparatus includes a front face plate and two side members that are in a parallel spaced apart relationship with respect to each other. Each of the two side members is attached to an opposite side of the face plate and perpendicular with respect thereto. The face plate includes an opening that is closed when a hinged door is pivoted into a first closed position. Various methods of securing the apparatus in the opening are disclosed, some of which do not modify, mar, or otherwise damage any portion of the motorcycle.

In addition, the console body may be adapted to cover an area of the dashboard in which climate controls were originally installed, with an upper portion of the console body being adapted to receive and secure the climate controls in a relocated position so that they may be operated from the front of the console body.

A locking mechanism locks the lid in a state closing the opening. An unlocking mechanism cancels the locked state of the lid. The glovebox hinge retainer may be integrally formed with the instrument panel with the isolator comprising an integrally formed projection in a glovebox surround that extends between at least one side of the hinge retainer and the glovebox door hinge after installation of the glovebox door.

A slot is formed within the lid that extends perpendicularly between the front and rear edges wherein a centering pin formed on the top edge of the door cooperates with the slot to cause the door to remain centered relative to the opening formed in the vehicle dashboard. The centering pin and slot are such that they are at all times hidden from the user's view when the storage bin door is being opened or closed.
