  • Patent number: 9889770
Abstract: Equipment and processes generate a seating solution by obtaining occupant data, calculating body dimensions from the occupant data, and calculating a best-fit body arrangement for an occupant. Occupant data may be obtained in various ways using available computational devices and software or by manually measuring the relevant dimensions on the occupant. A user interface for inputting occupant metrics and/or occupant measurements may be provided in a mobile terminal included in the vehicle or separate from the vehicle, thus giving users increased flexibility while maximizing simplicity and usability for the user or other personnel obtaining the data. Once an occupant's best-fit body arrangement is determined, it may be altered by changing the predetermined criteria to achieve optimum comfort, safety, and therapeutic benefit as well as used for providing improved comfort on a continuous basis and/or in response to detected or predicted vehicle, road, or atmospheric conditions.

  • Patent number: 8864210
Abstract: A seat latch assembly for providing manual triggering and subsequent powered rewinding of a seatback. A vertical support stanchion is secured to a floor location of a vehicle frame. An arm is pivotally supported at a lower end to an upper location of the stanchion. The arm engages along a side location of a frame forming a portion of the seatback in a first upper design position. A lever and trigger initiates forward rotating dump of the seatback. An arrangement of linkage members are also located upon the inboard side of the stanchion for providing upright rewinding of the seatback and for subsequently resetting the linkage mechanism through the driving action of a motor operable drive shaft associated with lowermost pivotal mounting location of the stanchion support.

Abstract: A vehicle seat, including two links movable for adjustment in height of the seat, is provided with a reinforcing transmission shaft. The reinforcing transmission shaft is rotatably connected between two frame members of seat cushion frame in the seat, while extending through the two links. Further, two pinions are fixed on the respective two end portions of the reinforcing transmission shaft and respectively meshed with two gear portions defined in the respective two links. With such arrangement, in the case of rear-end collision, most of great load applied to the links is transmitted, via the reinforcing transmission shaft, pinions and gear portions, to each of the two frame members, thereby preventing deformation of one of the two links to avoid lowering of the seat or inclination of one side of the seat as found in a rear-end collision case.

The biasing unit forces the second slot through the nail member so as to make the rotating plate rotate from an operator's exiting position to a forward driving position.

Abstract: A seat track assembly includes a first track having a mounting wall and first and second spaced apart side walls extending from the mounting wall, and a second track having a base flange and first and second spaced apart side flanges extending from the base flange. The side walls and the side flanges each have a pair of flat surfaces which cooperate to define a pair of load transmission channels. The load transmission channels are preferably square-shaped and oriented at 45 degrees. Load transmission elements are positioned in the load transmission channels. At least one of the first and second tracks produce an interference with the load transmission elements so that at least one of the first and second tracks is resiliently deflected by the load transmission elements to bias the load transmission elements into engagement with each of the four flat surfaces.
