The casing frame comprises for this purpose an insertion cavity (35) accessible from an opposite side of the wall. The fixation means comprise at least one fastening clip (60) which at a first outer end comprises an insertion member (65) which protrudes into the insertion cavity (35) in order to effect a durable mutual connection therein, and at a second outer end supports directly or indirectly on the wall.

An actuator system includes a contact or non-contact sensor for indicating an actual or imminent collision with a pedestrian, and pyrotechnic devices that urge the A-pillar covers to the deployed condition prior to a pedestrian impact with the A-pillar covers. The hood and/or windshield may also deploy to a pedestrian-friendly position in conjunction with deployment of the A-pillar covers.

A controller is connected in circuit with the actuator for controlling an operation of the actuator. A switch element is connected in circuit with the controller for generating a first signal when the window glass is opened and a second signal when the window glass is closed. With the wiper device mentioned above, the controller controls the actuator in such a manner that driving the pivot shaft is stopped immediately upon receiving the first signal and is started with a certain time delay after receiving the second signal.
