Abstract: Furniture configurable between a display configuration and a storage configuration that eases transport and storage and reduces the furniture footprint. The furniture includes an upper region that has seating and a backrest, and a lower region that is below the upper region and adapted to engage a support surface beneath the furniture when in the display configuration. In combination, the upper and lower regions define at least first and second sections of the furniture that are coupled by at least one hinge so that the first section comprises a first portion of the upper region and a first portion of the lower region and the second section comprises a second portion of the upper region and a second portion of the lower region, and the at least one hinge is configured so that the first and second sections pivot toward each other when the furniture is in the storage configuration.

Abstract: Boats can include seating assemblies that can be configured in a variety of different arrangements. In one configuration of the seating assemblies described herein, a forward-facing seat and a rearward-facing seat are arranged back-to-back. In another configuration, the seating assembly can be arranged as an essentially flat surface that can serve as an expansive sun bathing platform. In still another configuration, the seating assembly can be configured in a comfortable lounging arrangement that can be forward-facing or rearward-facing.

Abstract: A convertible chair is provided. The present convertible chair includes three or more sections connected together in series. The sections include a chair section, one or more middle sections, and an end section. The middle sections are slidably connected to the chair section, allowing the middle sections to slide in and out from the chair section. The end section is hingedly connected to the terminal middle section. When in the extended configuration, the sections provide a contiguous comfortable support surface on which a user can lay down. When in the compact configuration, the present invention resembles and functions as a conventional chair suitable for sitting on. The convertible chair further include connectors disposed along its sides that allow multiple chairs to be connected together in series.

Abstract: An external airbag cushion including: an outer cover that inflates to cover the front of a bumper of a vehicle; a plurality of separation walls that are disposed inside outer cover to divide the inside into a plurality of chambers in the transverse direction of the vehicle; and low-pressure variable vents and high-pressure variable vents that are disposed for the chambers, respectively, and selectively open, depending on the internal pressure of the chambers.

Abstract: A multi-positional collapsible seat assembly for a motor vehicle is disclosed. The seat assembly includes a seat bottom having a load surface provided on an underside thereof and a seat back having a load surface provided on the back side thereof. As the seat assembly is collapsed, the seat bottom is pivoted forward and the seat back is pivoted adjacent to the seat bottom such that the load surfaces collectively provide a load floor for receipt of cargo. An armrest assembly is disclosed that facilitates both passenger and cargo transport. A method is also disclosed for collapsing the seat assembly.

Abstract: A convertible table and support characterized by a support which is pivotally mounted on a support frame and may be reversibly pivoted from an upright sitting position resting on the support frame to an inverted position adjacent to the support frame to define a bench and table combination. The support is characterized by a seat which rests on the support frame when the support is in the upright sitting position with a backrest extending upwardly from the rear edge of the seat. A pivoting arm extends from each side of the seat adjacent to the front edge thereof and is pivotally mounted between respective support frame arms extending upwardly from the support frame. When the support is in the inverted or table position, the horizontally-oriented seat is supported by the support frame and the backrest and functions as a table top, while the support frame defines a bench. In a preferred embodiment an armrest is provided on each side of the support between the backrest and seat.

Abstract: A vehicle for use in underground mining operations is disclosed which is adapted for ready conversion between personnel and materials transportation by the provision of a movable flat panel type platform or platform element movable between a first position, corresponding to a personnel transportation mode of operation, and a second position, corresponding to a materials transportation mode of operation. A bar type member extends from a seat structure transverse to its longitudinal direction which coincides with the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The bar type member provides a horizontal support surface along with the top of the seat structure for supporting the platform in its materials transportation mode of operation. The seat structure comprises a pair of seats arranged in back-to-back relationship along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and includes a space therebetween for the storage of said platform means in the personnel carriage mode of operation.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a convertible piece of furniture which may be made into a chair or a bed. The convertible chair and bed has an arm section hingedly secured to a seat section and carrying a latch bracket. A back rest is hinged to the rear of the seat section having a pedestal pivotally secured to the rear of the back rest which support the back rest in a generally horizontal position in the extended bed position. Studs project laterally from the pedestal in the chair position and are engageable in the latch bracket in the chair position. The convertible chair and bed may be incorporated in various styles of furniture and may be provided with a fixed, swivel or rocking base.
