With Debris Catcher Patents (Class 297/182)
  • Patent number: 4955666
Abstract: A chair or table for medical or surgical patients has in one form of the invention an outwardly bowed facility, preferably removable and replaceable, along an end of the chair or table down whose seat or top liquid and debris cascades during an examination or surgical procedure, to receive and retain a flap extending from and along one margin of the opening of a catch bag of flexible sheet material while a second flap, extending from and along the opposite margin of such opening of the catch bag, overlies the seat of the chair or the table top at such end of the chair or table and is preferably secured to such chair seat or table top by pressure sensitive adhesive applied to the overlying flap of the bag. In another form of the invention, the catch receptacle itself has an elongate stiff but malleable member incorporated therein extending along such opposite margin of the bag opening for bending outwardly of the opening to hold the bag open when installed on the chair or table.

  • Patent number: 4848834
Abstract: A food pouch (16) for use with an infant's chair (6) of the type that attaches to the top of a table (4) catches food and debris dropped or thrown by the seated infant which would otherwise land on the floor. The pouch (16) is a generally liquid impervious surface that is attached at one pouch end (20) to the back portion (12) of the child's chair, and is attached at the other pouch end (18) to the underside of the table to which the chair is attached. In a preferred embodiment, the invention includes a spreader (40) to spread the portion of the pouch attached to the back of the chair, thereby maximizing the pouch area available for catching food and debris. The other end of the pouch is attached to the underside of the table, such as by using single (96) or double-sided (80) adhesive tape, Velcro brand hook and loop strips (104, 106), or hooks (98). The food pouch may be disposed of after each use or may be reused. An apparatus, a method and a kit are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4717202
Abstract: The present invention relates to an outdoor courtesy bench and is specifically concerned with providing such a bench which is constructed of a lightweight easily handled material for visibly displaying a plurality of advertising panels, both on the front and back of the bench. Prior art devices have been constructed of heavy, high maintenance materials which in use are subject to the accumulation of debris and the like therebeneath and which are subject to the collection of rain water and the like on the seat portion thereof and have only been adaptable to display a single advertising panel on the frontside thereof. The present invention overcomes these deficiencies by providing an outdoor courtesy bench of three-piece modular construction of a lightweight material having a hollow base portion to which discreet weight members can be added for increased weight and stability of the bench after positioning at a selected bench site.

Abstract: To catch food and other debris from a child sitting in a seat where the seat is the type that attaches to the edge of the table, the present invention has a pair of arms moveable with respect to each other. The arms are attached to the table to the sides of the seat. Each arm has rearward extensions to which a catcher of flexible cloth or other material is attached. The arms also attach to the table. The flexible catcher then hangs under the child and the seat to catch food and debris. The catcher may have forward portions extending under the table, which also can be attached to the arms under the table.
