The body-shield is deployed through fitting and securing the shield to a public seat through the elastic nature of the shield and anchoring drawstrings until retrieved and packed into an attached carrying pouch. Certain embodiments include analogous supplementary shields for armrests, fold-down tables, leg-supplements, headrests, and other surfaces from which users need to be shielded.

A baby bouncer seat cover constructed from health care use vinyl allows disinfection in infection controlled environments using surface disinfectants containing sodium hypochlorite (bleach) 1:10 diluted with water. The disinfectable vinyl baby bouncer seat cover incorporates a seat belt restraint system and the design creates a central pocket that cradles an infant in a semi-reclined position. The design and health care use vinyl components incorporated in the invention, create a comfortable infant seat cover that maximizes disinfection within infection controlled environments. The disinfectable vinyl baby bouncer seat cover is placed over a baby bouncer frame, the baby bouncer frame is not inclusive in this invention.

Reversing the positions of the flaps hides the tie strings and the other side of the cushion, converting the chair pad into a decorative pillow. The system has a seat cushion, a back cushion and left and right lateral trunk brace cushions. Each of the cushions is selected to conform to certain measured dimensions of the person. The cushions are secured to each other using interconnecting devices. The assembled system can be used with most conventional chairs and seats, including wheelchairs. A method of providing support for a person in a substantially upright sitting position is also provided which includes the steps of measuring certain dimensions of the patient, selecting appropriately sized cushions and securing the cushions together using the interconnecting devices.
