Abstract: A seat back cover in the form of a flexible bag of plastic or paper is shaped to fit over the back of a typical folding chair. The seat back cover may include structure to retain the bag on the chair, e.g., against the force of wind in an outdoor setting. The seat back cover may include vertical adhesive strips with peel covers placed on the back of the bag proximal to the chair edges so that if the cover is put on a smaller chair, the sides of the bag can be folded toward the back of the bag and taped out of the way. Multiple bags may be concatenated on a roll and separated by perforations, and the adhesive strips may be placed so as to fold the corners down over the rounded corners of the chair back.

Abstract: A method is provided for enhancing comfort of a seat with a hip/thigh support and a back support. The method includes providing a seating pad assembly with a foam cushion made at least partly of a viscoelastic foam and having a cover formed from a dimensionally stable non-stretch material. An upper area of the seating pad assembly is attached to an upper area of the seat back. Pelvic and upper back areas of a person sitting on the seat deform the viscoelastic foam sufficiently to provide a comfortable support and to define anchors for the seating pad assembly. The non-stretch cover extends between those anchors for effectively supporting and cradling the lumbar back area of the person in the seat above and forward of the corner between the seat back and the hip/thigh support.

A seating pad assembly is positioned removably on the seat and has a foam cushion made at least partly of a viscoelastic foam and having a dimensionally stable woven fabric cover. Pelvic and upper back areas of a person sitting on the seat deform the viscoelastic foam significantly to provide a comfortable support and to define anchors for the seating pad assembly. The outer cover extends between those anchors for effectively supporting and cradling the lumbar back area of the person in the seat.

An adaptive garment portion is one that has shifting surfaces with apertures that shift from an aligned to an offset orientation depending on environmental conditions/stimuli. For example, a first surface material and a second surface material may be coupled by a responsive material portion. The responsive material portion may physically change in response to a change in environmental conditions internal or external to the garment (e.g., thermal energy, moisture) and/or stimuli (e.g., light energy, electrical energy, magnetic fields). The physical change in the responsive material portion facilitates the planar shift of the first surface material relative to the second surface material.

Abstract: A seat for a vehicle includes a seat base, a seat back, a pair seat anchors extending from lateral sides of the seat back, a pair of upper and lower side covers, and a pair of flexible wrap members. The upper covers and the lower covers are positioned about the lateral sides above and below the anchors, thereby providing an access space above and below each anchor. Each flexible wrap member is non-removably attached at a first end to the seat proximate a rear side of the seat back and is configured to extend around the respective upper and lower side covers from the rear side to a front side of the seat back so as to cover the access space and extend about the respective seat anchor while substantially conforming to an outer perimeter shape of the respective upper and lower side covers.

The strip can include one or more cushions having different shapes and thicknesses, with or without a lining, acting as lumbar and/or spinal supports, fixable on the seat under the band itself. The upper anchoring elements generally include one or more threads for fixing the strip to support bars of a headrest, and at least one rod, having a polygonal cross-section, which cooperates with the one or more threads. Abstract: The present invention is an improved outdoor cushion sleeve that is adapted to fit existing outdoor furniture cushions. The cushion sleeve, in its preferred embodiment, includes a rectangular prism shape with an opening for inserting a seat cushion. The opening is attached to a short flap and a long flap, where the short flap folds under the long flap. The long flap also has a strip of fasteners that is attached to a matching strip of fasteners on the exterior of the sleeve to secure the cushion within the device. The cushion sleeve further includes of at least one set of ties to fasten the newly layered cushion to the existing outdoor furniture. The present invention improves the durability of existing cushions, eliminates the need for users to purchase new outdoor furniture due to deterioration on accompanying cushions, and provides a fresh appearance to existing patio furniture.

Abstract: An automobile bench seat cover having a bottom portion and a back portion is disclosed herein. The bottom portion is configured to cover three seat bottoms of a bench seat when removably coupled to the automobile bench seat. The back portion is coupled to the bottom portion and configured to cover three seatbacks of the bench seat when removably coupled to the bench seat. The bench seat cover also includes two slits extending from a top portion of the back portion toward the bottom portion. Each slit is adaptable between an open position that allows a seatbelt to fit through the slit and a closed position that closes the slit. One or more couplings, such as Velcro, are positioned adjacent each of the two slits and configured to close the respective slit.

Abstract: A wheelchair slipcover is provided that includes a first covering member and a second covering member that is adjustable for different wheelchair sizes and configurations. A drawer, plush ornament, recess, or sports equipment can be provided at a lower supporting portion of the chair. Feet made of sports equipment can be attached to the bottom of the frame. A backrest opening can receive a piece of sports equipment.

Abstract: A seat cover for use with vehicle seats with or without side deployed airbags. In an example, the seat cover is made of a uni-body construction with upper and lower sections for respectively covering a seat back and seat cushion. Openings are provided in the upper and lower sections for insertion of the seat back and seat cushion. A side panel is disposed on each lateral side of the upper section that aligns with an expected path of the airbag when deployed. A frangible seam couples the panel to the remaining portion of the seat cover. The frangible seam fails at a force sufficiently less than the force of a deploying airbag. Thus when the airbag is deployed the force consumed by cleaving the frangible seam panel does not impede airbag deployment. Also included is an alignment member to position the panel in the expected path of the deploying airbag.

Abstract: A slip cover for a sofa or love seat is disclosed. The slip cover is adjustable in a number of ways to give a good fit for a range of sofa sizes and configurations. Vents are formed in the sides of the back covering portion to accommodate the presence or absence of arms for the seating piece. The seat portion has overlapping sides to fit a range of seat sizes. Front and back skirts are used to wrap the periphery of the sofa piece, thus covering the overhanging sides of the seat portion, the front and back skirts themselves overlapping and being adjustably secured with ties and binding extensions. Arm pieces, where needed, are separate from the back/seat portion of the covering, are adjustable by tucking any excess fabric behind the ruffle seam, and are secured to the legs of the sofa piece.
