Plural Stops Patents (Class 297/270.3)
  • Patent number: 11766124
Abstract: A simplified, compact, recliner mechanism is provided which can be adapted to many types of recliner design. A front linkage assembly and a rear linkage assembly provide the desired movement of the seat and back when moving from the TV position to the fully reclined position, obviating the need for a track and roller design. Moreover, a front pivot link and a rear pivot link are provided and oriented in a manner that allows the desired forward seat movement as the recliner moves from the closed position to the TV position. The geometries of the front linkage assembly, the rear linkage assembly, the front pivot link and the rear pivot link allow a slim profile design allowing great flexibility in the design of the recliner.

  • Patent number: 6761405
Abstract: A rocking chair including a body supporting portion, a chair base portion, a locking assembly arid a linkage. The linkage includes a strip of resilient material extending across the backrest of the chair, positioned to receive the back of an occupant of the chair. The strip has a resiliency such that, when an occupant leans back against the backrest of the chair, the strip is responsive to the pressure applied directly thereto to deform rearwardly from an original position and, when the pressure ceases, the strip returns to its original position. The linkage is operatively connected to the locking assembly to cause the locking assembly to prevent movement of the body supporting portion relative to the chair base portion when the strip is in the original position, and to cause the locking assembly to allow movement of the body supporting portion relative to the chair base portion when the strip is deformed rearwardly from the original position.

  • Patent number: 6244658
Abstract: The rocking chair includes a ground-resting base, a seat support frame and rocking arms rockably mounting the seat support frame to the base. A seat, defining a front end portion and a rear end portion, is pivotally mounted on the support frame at its front end portion allowing limited up and down movement of its seat rear end portion between an upper position and a lower limit position. A stop is carried by said seat support frame and engages the seat rear end portion in its lower limit position. A spring continuously forces the seat towards said upper position, and the weight of a person seated on the seat rear end portion will effectively lower the seat rear end portion to its lower limit position against the bias of the spring. The rocking chair also includes a unidirectional two part ratchet locking device having a ratchet wheel carried by one of the rocking arms, and a pawl pivotally carried by the seat support frame.
