Armrest Or Side Frame-connected Patents (Class 297/281)
  • Patent number: 11738278
Abstract: The system may be a process and a device that allows for safety in swinging on a swing at a park, playground or swing set. The process may include fixing a chain, hook/connector and an anchor into a single chain assembly. The chain assembly may be dipped or submerged in a polymer coating and allowed to dry, forming a continuous coating over the chain assembly. The chain assembly may be secured to a swing seat using brackets to engage the anchor portion of the chain assembly. The polymer coating may partially or entirely coat the chain assembly while still allowing manipulation and deformation of the chain assembly. The polymer coating may provide easier gripping and safer swinging.

  • Patent number: 8052214
Abstract: A seat structure capable of dealing with both a normal posture and a resting posture and providing sufficient relaxation in the resting posture while ensuring excellent comfortableness of an occupant. According to the present invention, a back frame 20 itself is fixed to a frame support 10 but a cushion frame 30 shifts from a first position A to a second position B according to an occupant's movement and an inclination angle of a pelvis support 31 increases accordingly. The occupant's pelvis portion and a portion lower than the pelvis portion is moved forward but a part of his or her back above his or her breast is not varied. With this structure, the same effect of the resting posture, that is, the posture in which the back frame is reclined in a conventional seat structure, can be obtained. Since the back is not tilted backward, a leg room (footrest) space in a rear seat is not limited.

The seat back of the swing seat is positionable in a first in-use position, in a second in-use position in which the seat back is adjusted rearward relative to its first in-use position, and in a fold position in which the seat back is adjusted forward relative to its first in-use position. The frame may be movable between an in-use position and a fold position. In this regard, the seat back may be positionable in its first and second in-use positions while the frame is in its in-use position, and the seat back may be positionable in its fold position while the frame in is its fold position.

  • Patent number: 6623081
Abstract: A pendantly-supported swing chair has a mobile stand supporting a cross bar over which passes the upper ends of two parallel ropes. Each rope provides two upwardly extending portions which pass through, and hold in place at vertically-spaced positions, two rigid wooden support members. A bamboo platen has respective end areas providing an overhead sun screen supported by one pair of support members and a seat supported by the second pair of support members. The intermediate area of the screen provides a back rest and may be formed with a lumbar support. Arm rests movable to chosen positions on the ropes may be provided for comfort. Holes through which the ropes pass enable the heights of the seat and sun screen to be varied as well as their angles.

  • Patent number: 6612651
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for imparting substantially oscillatory horizontal motion to a subject. The apparatus has a translating support assembly, an oscillatory mechanism, and an actuator permitting the subject to apply a non-gravitational acceleration to the translating support assembly. The oscillatory mechanism has a linkage assembly with mounts offset in a plane transverse to the direction of motion so as to permit a large stroke of travel of the translating support assembly relative to a fixed support structure. Additionally, a locking mechanism is provided that is biased to preclude motion of the oscillatory mechanism in the absence of a substantial weight on the support assembly.

  • Patent number: 6435611
Abstract: A chair having two body supports which move in similar rotation and inverse elevation to one another to change from a chair configuration, where one support is higher than the other, to a spine tensioning apparatus, where the supports are near equal in elevation. Preferably body supports are spaced apart from one another such that the only interconnecting human link between the two supports, when in a near equal elevation configuration, is the human spine. The spine, in this configuration is then subjected to similar forces as a simple beam supported by two separate forces, tension, compression, shear and moment. The spine is aided by and through tension and contraction and increased blood flow and afforded the ability for spinal muscle, nerve and soft tissue development and maintenance.

The state detector is responsive to movement of an upper portion of the body of the occupant while the occupant is still supported in a normal seated position on the seat of the chair, thereby advantageously allowing the locking of the mobility functions of the chair to occur before the occupant starts to lift his weight from the seat of the chair.
