Abstract: A height-adjustable armrest for a chair, in particular an office chair, has an arm support, which is retained by an armrest holder. The armrest holder is pivotable and a pivoting causes the armrest to be adjusted in height. An arresting device fixes the armrest holder in a height position. The arresting device is arranged at the upper, alterable-height end of the armrest holder and has a linearly movable latching element. The latching element is connected via a guide element to the armrest holder such that each pivoting movement of the armrest holder induces a linear movement of the latching element.

Abstract: A portable armrest accessory includes a base adapted for attachment to an existing armrest. The base includes an upwardly extending member supporting a horizontal armrest. The upwardly extending member is pivotally secured to both the base and the horizontal armrest so as to allow for adjustment of the horizontal supporting surface of the horizontal armrest.

Abstract: A seat assembly having a seatback and a head restraint is provided. The seat assembly includes a support member extending between the head restraint and the seatback. The support member is configured to attach the head restraint to the seatback, and may extend downward into the seatback. The support member separates the head restraint into a forward portion and a rearward portion. A receptacle cavity is defined within the rearward portion of the head restraint. The receptacle cavity is configured to receive one or more articles.

Abstract: Multiple convertible furniture configurations adapted to provide multiple seating surfaces by interchangeable and removable support cushion units inclusive in a single furniture element. Removably self-supporting cushion seat assemblies are selectively secured to a primary furniture element as auxiliary arms and back surfaces, each of which has internally deployable support legs allowing cushion seat assemblies to be used independently wherein combination with the original chair sofa support unit increasing the number of seating surfaces and arrangement possible.

Abstract: A removable armrest (RAR) (10) that is placed between a pair of sofa cushions (84). The RAR (10) is comprised of a resilient section (12) and a downward-extending tab (32). The tab (32) is divided by a tab welt (48) into an upper section (50) and a lower section (52). The upper section (50) is inserted into and maintained within a slot (54) that extends into the resilient section (12). The lower section (52) of the tab (32) is pushed downward into the space between two cushions (84) on a sofa (82), thereby positioning and frictionally holding the RAR (10) to provide a comfortable support for a person's arm.

In the automobile interior exhibit, the relief is provided with a simulative three-dimensional form in perspective so that the relief provides a view from a predetermined viewpoint even when the relief is viewed from the front.

Abstract: An un-automated lift assist for the physically challenged whereby a user may push against a pair of armrests causing a portion of the armrest to initially compress, and later rebound when the individual is transitioning from a seated to an upright position. The lift assist has two upright side members with armrests and a base member with a support panel that are placed between a removable cushion of a article of furniture and the support frame of the article of furniture, so that the in-situ cushion is between a seated individual and the base member.

The apparatus comprises an elongated generally hollow member having each of a predetermined configuration a predetermined depth and formed of a predetermined material. A foam material is disposed within the elongated generally hollow member. At least one cup like member having an open end is disposed adjacent an upper surface of such elongated member and a closed end is disposed within such elongated member and surrounded by the foam material for use as a holder for a beverage container. There is a means for closing such elongated member after the foam material has been added and also a means for securing the cup like member to such elongated member.

Abstract: A chair having a metal rod frame back assembly where the frame includes generally horizontal top, bottom and middle members and spaced apart generally vertical side members. Two seat brackets are welded to the middle and bottom members and attach to a seat board and two rod segments are welded to the side members. The seat board is covered with foam and upholstery. The back frame may be covered with springy mesh to give a thin elegant, yet comfortable back structure. Alternatively, foam is glued to a structural material and the material and foam combination and the frame are covered with upholstery. Arms and armrests are attached to the seat board and the seat and back assemblies with arms are mounted to a pedestal connected to a five spoke base riding on casters.

The first support bracket engages the second surface of the first cushion member to solely provide lateral support thereto.

Abstract: A portable single-sided armrest assembly that is added to or removed from any seating device/location without requiring any fixed mounting or permanent or semi-permanent attachment means. The armrest assembly includes an L-shaped member having a lower plate section serving as a seat for the person using the armrest while further including a backplate section which slidably mounts an upright support plate or portion. One end of the support plate includes an elongated cushion armrest fixedly attached thereto, while further including an elongated slot mounting a threaded cap serving as a guide as the support plate is moved to a desired vertical position. A lock knob is employed for securing the armrest and support plate in a fixed location on the backplate. An adapter plate is employed for attachment between an angular section joining the backplate of the L-shaped member to the lower seat section of the member, wherein the adapter is employed to occupy a vacant right angled space in a standard seat.

Abstract: A seat assembly for use in an automotive vehicle comprising a seat cushion extending between a front portion and a rear portion for supporting a seat occupant on the seat assembly and a seat back extending longitudinally between a lower portion coupled to the rear portion of the seat cushion and an upper portion. The seat back includes a front support surface for supporting the seat occupant in an upright seating position. A cavity is recessed in the seat cushion between the front portion and the rear portion. A center console is seated in the cavity forming a planar portion of the seat cushion. A support mechanism is coupled between the center console and the seat cushion for removably securing the center console between a secured position recessed in the cavity and a detached position released from attachment to the seat cushion and removed from the cavity.
