Abstract: A walker or rollator has a first frame section (1) fitted with handles (6) and pivotally connected to a second frame section (2) such that the rollator can be collapsed. Stays (9, 11) extend between the frame sections (1, 2) and are pivotally secured in each respective frame section and which, in a locking position, maintain the rollator in the position of use. A seat surface (15) is, with a first edge portion, pivotally connected to a joint (13) which connects the stays (9, 11) to one another, and with a second edge portion supportable on support member (16) on the one stay (11) adjacent the joint connection (12) thereof with the frame section (1). The load of the user on the seat surface (15) influences the stays (9, 11) towards the locking position.

Abstract: A device for supporting a person while standing or walking or sitting having a frame and a seat assembly. The frame supports the person while walking or standing while the seat assembly allows him to sit. The seat assembly is slidably attached to the frame between a raised position and a lowered position. The seat assembly is spring biased towards the raised position. The seat assembly moves from the raised position to the lowered position when the person sits down. The action of the spring biasing assists the person up as the person stands from the seat assembly. The seat assembly includes a main seat portion and a pivotal seat portion. The pivotal seat portion is collapsible from a supportive position where both seat portions provide support to the person and a stowed position where at least the collapsible portion of the seat is tucked away from the person while the person is walking.

  • Patent number: 5013032
Abstract: This invention relates to a child walker-trainer. The walker-trainer consists of a frame preferably in the form of a push toy. At least three wheels are mounted to the frame. At least one of the wheels is mounted axially to the frame to form a rear wheel axis rearward of the other wheels. The invention preferably includes two rear wheels and two forward wheels. A handle attached to the frame extends upwardly and rearwardly of the rear wheel axis such that a downward force applied to the handle causes the walker-trainer to pivot along the rear wheel axis. The invention includes means for immobilizing the walker-trainer when a downward force is applied to the handle which causes the walker-trainer to pivot along the rear wheel axis. The immobilizing means preferably includes a flat, "U" shaped skid attached either to the frame or to the handle, such that it extends rearwardly of the rear wheel axis and is substantially parallel to and positioned slightly above the walking surface.
