Horizontal Cutter Tooth Orbit Patents (Class 299/74)
  • Patent number: 9631491
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an apparatus for forming an underground tunnel. The apparatus comprises a cutting head for removing material from a wall portion of the tunnel and thereby forming a portion of the tunnel. Further, the apparatus comprises a support structure for supporting a previously formed portion of the tunnel. The support structure is arranged to provide a supporting force against a surface of the tunnel when stationary and when being moved along the tunnel. Further, the apparatus comprises a conveyor for conveying removed material from the cutting head to a location remote from the cutting head during formation of the portion of the tunnel.

  • Patent number: 7438365
Abstract: A mining device for subsurface extraction of raw materials off rocks includes bracing means for the reversible bracing of the mining device in a hollow space, a frame, and tunneling means stationarily connected with the bracing means, whereby the frame is movable by the tunneling means in a predefined direction. A rotatable roller is arranged on the frame, at the circumference of which cutting tools and clearing devices are arranged such that a rectangular mining cross-section can be created and such that the mining device and also the frame of the mining device is movable into a mining tunnel created by these cutting tools.

  • Patent number: 6772134
Abstract: Control apparatus for a horizontal boring tool is described which drives a boring lance via boring rods. The tool includes an input interface for receiving actual values of controlled variables of the horizontal boring tool, and an output unit for issuing control signals for controlling the horizontal boring tool. Between the input interface and the output unit is provided a fuzzy control unit which determines the control signals for activation of the horizontal boring tool from the actual values of the controlled variables and the desired values for the controlled variables by fuzzy logic while taking into account heuristic process values. The control apparatus permits automatic operation of the horizontal boring tool with good course steering and high precision.

  • Patent number: 4785559
Abstract: The apparatus for making a substantially vertical slot in the ground in a step in making a sealing or supporting wall comprises a frame member, a supporting shield, at least two cutting wheels and a drive unit. The supporting shield is attached to the frame member and supports the cutting wheels and the drive unit. The cutting wheels are mounted on a common shaft and at least a portion of the drive unit is enclosed by at least one of the cutting wheels. A housing projecting pipe like on both of its opposing sides is attached to the supporting shield. Each of the cutting wheels have a hub which is mounted on a common shaft mounted in the housing. A hollow drive wheel is provided for the cutting wheels and is mounted advantageously on a stepped in seat on one of the hubs. It fits in the housing with play. The hollow drive wheel meshes with a plurality of drive gears each connected to a drive motor.

  • Patent number: 4664449
Abstract: A drift advancing or a partial-cut mining machine (1) comprises a cutting arm (11) being swivellable in a height direction around an axis (10). The front end of the cutting arm (11) is equipped with guides (26) transversely extending relative to the longitudinal axis (38) of the cutting arm (11) and having shiftably supported thereon a carrier (27) for the cutting heads (28, 29). The cutting heads (28, 29) are rotatably supported on the carrier (27) for rotation around vertical axes (46). The distance (a) between the axes of rotation (46) is, as measured in a transverse direction relative to the longitudinal axis (38) of the cutting arm, at most equal to half the width (b) of the drift face.

  • Patent number: 4140229
Abstract: A reclaimer apparatus is positioned in an elongated bulk material containing hopper or cargo hold of the type having opposed side walls which slope downwardly and inwardly toward the hopper bottom, the latter having a series of longitudinally extending discharge openings therein for discharging the bulk material on to a conveyor running lengthwise of the hopper. The reclaimer apparatus includes a rigid frame adapted to be located above the discharge openings and means for propelling the frame along the hopper bottom. The reclaimer has cutters thereon adapted to cut through bulk material, such as coal, in planes lying generally parallel to and adjacent the sloping side walls whereby to undercut the bulk mateial and to cause same to cascade downwardly and along the side walls and through the discharge openings.
