With Means To Apply Transient Fluid To Tool Patents (Class 30/123.3)
  • Publication number: 20040107584
Abstract: Fanned air generated by a fan to cool a motor is discharged from a housing through fanned air discharge ports toward an opening formed in a base. The fanned air discharged toward the opening is then introduced into a groove in fluid communication with the opening. The groove is formed in a bottom surface of the base and has an open side at a front side of the base. The fanned air is then discharged from the front side of the base, blowing off saw dust on a cutting object so as to prevent dust from accumulating on a marking line on the cutting object.

Abstract: A method and tool provided with irrigation for transection of a band, ring or the like and method of use is disclosed which includes a power-driven drill operable for driving a rotatable shaft which rotates a circular cutting blade mounted on the shaft, and a head assembly mounted on the drill includes a port structure oriented for transferring irrigation fluid from a source onto the ring or band to provide cooling to the ring or band and cooling to the cutting blade during cutting action. The transfer of irrigation fluid also facilitates removal of metallic filings or debris caused by the cutting action and irrigating a traumatized area adjacent the ring or band. The port structure is dimensioned with a bore for receiving a tubular member connected to the source, which delivers fluid to the port structure, which has an axis aligned substantially parallel to a planar surface of the cutting blade.

  • Publication number: 20040045166
Abstract: A chamber is formed in the upper end of a brush saw cutting head housing. The brush saw cutting element drive spindle's upper end projects into the chamber. The drive spindle's lower end projects beneath the housing and is drivingly couplable to the cutting element. A disc is mounted against the underside of the cutting element. A cavity is formed in the disc. At least one channel extends through the disc, between the cavity and the disc's external rim. An aperture extends through the drive spindle, between the chamber and the cavity. Herbicide supplied to the chamber flows from the chamber, through the drive spindle aperture, into the cavity. The drive spindle rotates the disc. Centrifugal force imposed on herbicide within the cavity forces the herbicide through the channel(s) onto the underside of the cutting element, for transfer onto the stumps of material cut by the element.

  • Patent number: 6675481
Abstract: A gardening shears structure in which one handgrip has a circular recess sealed by a rotary plug. The rotary plug has a knob at the top that facilitates minimal force rotation during extrication, with a spring situated inside the circular recess enabling the smooth removal of the rotary plug, and a pliant body permeated with oil is inserted into a hollow sleeve at the bottom of the rotary plug such that it is partially exposed. After flower and branch cutting, a physically-worn or hand-carried cloth serves as a means of simple cleaning and following the wiping away of sap, leaf fragments, soil, and other grimy matter on the two blades of the truncating section, the oil permeating the pliant body is applied to shield them from air exposure to prevent corrosion and lubrication, thereby achieving the objective of maintenance.

  • Patent number: 6523264
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a method and an apparatus for cutting material, such as paper and/or fabric, while simultaneously marking the material with a decorative border. The present invention utilizes an air pump and replaceable coloring means source affixed on a cutting apparatus, such as scissors, having an air pump and replaceable coloring dispenser along the blade(s) of the scissors. The pumping mechanism utilizes check valves to regulate the flow of air through the system. In another embodiment, a colorant may be used along the blade of the scissors wherein each cut leaves a decorative border along the cut area of the material.

  • Patent number: 6260275
Abstract: The invention is an adjustable aerosol can holder attachment kit for a conventional tree pruner. The addition of the device to a conventional tree pruner gives the user the ability to hold and operate an aerosol can of spray paint at the end of the tree pruner. After the user saws off a tree branch using the saw on the end of the pole, a rope attached to the branch cutting lever arm is pulled. This in turn depresses the nozzle on the spray can, which is attached to the conventional tree pruner. When the rope is pulled and the nozzle depressed, the spray can sprays its contents in the area designated by the user. The attachment kit consists of a receiving sleeve for holding the aerosol spray can and a wedge-shaped plate which attaches to the conventional tree pruner.

  • Patent number: 6170159
Abstract: A manually guided implement having a drive motor is provided. For a translatory movement of a tool member, the rotational movement of the drive motor must be converted by a gear arrangement, which has a gear wheel that is coupled with a component that glides on the end face of the gear wheel. To significantly reduce frictional losses and also wear of the pertaining components, a constantly effective, reliable lubricant is required. For this reason, at least one cutout is provided in the main body of the gear wheel and/or in the component that can glide on the end face thereof. Such cutouts are open to a glide plane and serve to accommodate a lubricant.
