Forks And Spoons Patents (Class 30/150)
  • Patent number: 11930945
Abstract: The present invention discloses a food serving apparatus such as scoop designed to be magnetically mounted on top or underneath of a metallic lid of containers. The scoop comprises a bowl and a handle. The handle comprises a cavity, which includes at least two magnets separated by a small distance. The magnets are mounted within the cavity to hold the scoop on out side or in side of the metallic lid of the container. During the molding process, the molten plastic flows over and under the magnets to hold them in place in the cavity of the handle. The plastic encapsulated magnets in the handle avoids trapping of germs and other harmful biological microorganisms, thereby making the scoop very safe for storage on top surface or inside of the product container lids. Further, the scoop is made from food grade plastic material.

The base has flat bottom surface of the base enables the eating utensil to remain upright on the table so that the eating utensil may be easily grasped and picked up. In addition, the utensil head may be modified to increase the surface area available for the food and to increase stability of the food on the eating utensil. The new and improved eating utensil is capable of being used with individuals with a variety of disabilities, particularly those individuals with limited wrist movement.

  • Patent number: 5054835
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved food handling implement which in one mode of use forms a pair of separate elements which can be used individually as salad servers, while in another mode of use forms a set of tongs which can be operated by a person single handed. Each element has an elongate handle having an end portion which is angled with respect to the axis of the handle, and a connector cap for releasably connecting the elements together to enable the elements to be coupled together in approximately parallel relationship in the one mode of use, or with the angled end portions retained in facing relationship with the handles diverging away from the connector cap in the another mode of use, wherein the hand portions of the elements can be urged together or apart by virtue of the resilience of the handles.

Abstract: A cutlery apparatus incorporating the utility of a knife, a fork, and a spoon. The present invention combines a knife, fork, and spoon together in a unique and novel fashion so that a person may both impale and cut his food by the same apparatus. Moreover, the present invention is designed such that the operation may be accomplished by use of only one hand. The present invention incorporates a fork on a retractable shaft. The knife blade is disposed along the bottom most edge of a spoon disposed adjacent the fork. When activated, the spoon/knife combination rotates about the fork to cut the food item in which the fork is displaced. A gravity activated switching means is also incorporated in the present invention so that an individual may not activate the motorized cutlery device while eating. The device may be activated only when it is in a substantially vertical position with respect to the ground.

Abstract: A combination utensil capable of being alternatively used as a fork and a spoon. The utensil comprises (a) an elongate handle, (b) a spoon-shaped head attached to the handle, and (c) a movable plate. The spoon-shaped head has a cut out portion at its forward end. The cut out portion provides at least two tines. The plate is capable of being moved between two positions. In one position, the plate substantially covers the cut out portion of the head and the utensil forms a spoon. In the other position, the cut out portion of the head is substantially uncovered and the utensil forms a fork.

Abstract: Nestable, stackable cutlery is shown according to the teachings of the present invention in the form of spoons, forks, and knives. The cutlery includes handle portions, of generally identical construction, and food operational and engagement portions. The handle portions in the preferred embodiment have a U-shaped cross section allowing the outside surface of a first piece of cutlery to be received within the inside surface of a second piece of cutlery. The cutlery further includes nesting and stacking lugs for supporting the handle portion of the second piece of cutlery along its entire length on the handle portion of the first piece of cutlery. In their most preferred form, the lugs include an inverse tapered inner surface for holding onto a punch of an injection mold during fabrication.

Abstract: An improved frangible beverage stirrer is disclosed which is capable of being broken into two toothpicks. The utensil includes a handle portion having an upper surface and a lower surface with a relatively long dimension along an axis. A first end of the handle has a gripping surface and a second end of the handle opposite thereto has a spoon bowl or other appliance mounted thereon. The handle portion has a first straight diagonal groove in the upper surface thereof located between the first and second end and oriented at an angle with respect to the axis. A second straight diagonal groove parallel to and juxtaposed with the first groove, is in the lower surface of the handle. The handle is capable of being broken into two portions along the grooves by grasping the gripping surface and the spoon bowl and applying a torque along the axis, thereby forming two toothpicks with their respective pointed ends formed by the grooves.

Abstract: A utensil dispenser including a reservoir that stores utensils and front and rear pedestals in contact with a next utensil. The pedestals contain a plurality of utensils within the reservoir. A gravity feed ramp moves the next utensil to an access port of the utensil dispenser. The utensil dispenser includes an actuator operably connected to a drive pin or other drive mechanism. The actuator is configured to halt a dispensing utensil at a ready position based upon contact between the dispensing utensil and the actuator. In the ready position, a handle portion of the dispensing utensil is accessible via the access port. The drive mechanism is configured to contact the next utensil. The actuator is configured to move the drive mechanism to move the next utensil to clear the front pedestal to release the next utensil from the reservoir onto the gravity feed ramp when the dispensing utensil is dispensed.
