  • Publication number: 20140304993
Abstract: A dual safety utility knife having a safety guard positioned next to the cutting blade preventing accidental injuries when the tip of the knife accidentally contacts human bodies. A spring keeps pushing out the safety guard to cover the side of the cutting blade at all times. The safety guard moves back inside the knife shell only when the tip of the knife pressed against hard objects for cutting. The safe guard doesn't move back inside the knife shell when the knife tip pressed against soft objects such as skins and mussels. Additional safety feature keeps locking the safety guard from movements at all times for extra safety protection. The safety guard is released only when the safe release button manually pushed in. A box cutting guide allows cutting the top of the boxes with an even straight line. A blade folder is provided for fast blade change.

A separable linkage extends between an actuator and a strut, and has a seat member and a deflecting member that are linked together when the actuator is not depressed and the strut is in the safety position blocking the retraction of the shield. The separable linkage is configured to transmit the pressing action of the actuator to the strut to disengage it from the bracket. Abstract: The invention relates, among other things, to a knife with a housing (H, 11, 12) and a blade carrier (13) supported within the housing (H, 11, 12), with an actuating device (V) comprising at least one actuating element (14) and at least one handle (12), wherein by means of the actuating device (V), the blade carrier (13) can be displaced from at least one safety position, in which a blade (27) mounted to the blade carrier (13) is retracted into a receiving space (A) of the housing (11), into at least one cutting position in which the blade (13) projects out of the housing (11). The particularity consists, among other things, in that the actuating element (14) interacts in a pivot-jointed manner with the blade carrier (13) and that the blade carrier (13) is supported in a translatory and rotatably moveable manner at the housing (H, 11, 12).

Abstract: The present invention provides a fold knife comprising a handle and a blade hinged to the handle. The fold knife further comprises a switch mechanism for manual and semi-automatic operation which is positioned in the inner chamber of the handle. The switch mechanism for manual and semi-automatic operation has a first position in which it is allowed to manually open the blade from the handle and a second position in which it is allowed to automatically open the blade from the handle. The fold knife according to the present invention is capable of easily switching between the manual operation condition and the semi-automatic operation condition by means of the switch mechanism for manual and semi-automatic operation, so as to satisfy various requirements of a user where, on one hand, it can guarantee the safety in use for the users such as a kid and on the other hand it can obtain the facilitation in the opening procedure.

Abstract: Many techniques including safety lockable mechanisms have been proposed to improve safety of knives; however, to close a knife according to the techniques, it requires the user to place their finger on the line of rotation of a body of the knife, rendering it unfavorable from the viewpoint of safety, and in addition, the knives of the techniques have insufficient strength and in turn are less safe. The object of the invention is to eliminate such drawbacks that are also common to key holders and holders for small-sized tools such as screwdrivers and saws. The folding tool has one side-plate (1a) and the other side-plate (1b). A part of the rear side of the other side-plate (1b) or an arm-like plate (2) attached as a separate body is used as an inwardly pressing member, and a projection (3) is provided at the head of the arm-like plate (2).

Abstract: The invention is a hand-held self defense weapon having a protected stabbing point. The stabbing point is covered by a retractable cover. The cover may be slidably retracted into a body cavity by the pressure of the contacting object on a cover thrusting surface. The stabbing point, which is rigid to a grippable handle, is exposed by the retracting cover. An alarm is switched internally by the motion of the cover, eliminating manually switching by the user during emergencies. After use, the stabbing point is retained in a point guide which also acts to retain body tissue captured from the body penetrated. The configuration and dimensions of the weapon are such as to be comfortably carried in a person's hand and naturally employed in natural self-defense actions.
