Plural Blade Or Cutting Edge Patents (Class 30/279.2)
  • Publication number: 20030233756
Abstract: The device for edge cutting of strips of material includes a groove (2) disposed in a base body (1) and passing through over the length of the base body (1) and exhibiting in each case a round blade (6) at sideways protruding arms (4) and (5) at the lower open end of the groove (2). The round blades (6) are disposed somewhat staggered relative to the longitudinal axis of the groove (2). The round blade (6) disposed in the arm (5) is disposed somewhat inclined under an angle relative to the wall of the groove (2). The round blade (6) disposed in the arm (5) separates at an angle the downwardly disposed region of the strip of material in order to generate a so-called undercut, whereby the laying work and installation can be performed more exact and simpler.

  • Patent number: 6655031
Abstract: The present invention describes a wick cutting device, particulary designed to clip the wicks of candles to a specified length. The invention comprises two cylinders, one with a grip and one with a handle. The wick trimmer is assembled as a cylinder inside a cylinder in which the inner cylinder has a steel blade at the bottom. The inner cylinder rotates within the outer cylinder. The wick is cut with a simple twist of the handle.

  • Patent number: 6578271
Abstract: A gutting knife including a blade with two forward extensions that define a slot between them and a peripheral cutting edge defined around the sides and bottom of the slot. A first extension has a spike tip and a cutting edge along its outside. A second extension has a blunt tip or bulge which does not cut. A meander pathway along the second extension into the slot. Saw teeth into the slot on the first extension. A recess on the outside of the second extension is inclined rearwardly and includes a cutting edge. A handle at the rear of the knife blade.

  • Publication number: 20020073814
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cutting an end of a tie wrap after a locking mechanism of the tie wrap has been engaged includes inserting the end of the tie wrap in proximity with a curved blade of a cutting tool. Pressure is applied to the cutting tool to force the curved blade against the tie wrap until the tie wrap is cut through.

  • Patent number: 6298561
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a tool for cutting sandwich type plaster boards such as gypsum plaster boards. It is an object of the present invention to provide a tool which allows the exact cutting of those boards in a time saving manner. According to the present invention this object is performed by a tool for working board-like workpieces, in particular sandwich type plaster boards, comprising a guide means for guiding the tool, a handle means, a blade means for forming a cut in the workpiece, and a coupling means for coupling the blade means with the guide means in an adjustable manner. A spacing between the handle means and the blade means may be adjusted by said coupling means in a direction transversely to a moving direction of the blade means.

  • Patent number: 6209207
Abstract: A handheld candle wick cutting device enables an individual to trim the excess long candle wick on any flat-top candles, but especially on candles positioned deep in a narrow candle jar/holder or the like. The wick cutting device includes a main outer tube and an inner tube which has an outer diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the outer tube. The inner tube is rotatably installed within the outer tube and being longer than the outer tube. A pair of cutting blades are mounted to the outer and inner tubes perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, at an operable location to cause a cutting action when one of the tubes is rotated. Each blade has an off-center cutting aperture which when superimposed create a through opening in the cutting device, where a candle wick may be partially inserted therein and perpendicular to the two cutting blades.

  • Patent number: 6199283
Abstract: An implement for holding and/or coring vegetables and fruits, during the preparation of the vegetables and fruits, includes a shaft for impaling a vegetable or fruit while the vegetable or fruit is peeled, sliced, etc., and a handle for holding the implement and coring a vegetable or fruit. The shaft has an external surface with projecting ribs along the length of the shaft for retaining an impaled vegetable or fruit on the shaft while the vegetable or fruit is being prepared and preferably, is made of a polymeric material to help keep cutting instruments from being dulled by contact with the shaft during use. The handle has projections on either side of the shaft for penetrating a vegetable or fruit to keep the vegetable or fruit from rotating when being held on the shaft and a pair of diametrically opposed blades, for coring a vegetable or fruit, which are spaced from each other to define a space therebetween for containing a core when the handle is being used to core a vegetable or fruit.
