Abstract: A grill cleaning tool and a method for using the tool are provided. The tool comprises: a handle; an elongated main shaft having a first end and a second end secured to a first end of the handle; a first scraper extending perpendicular to the main shaft from opposite sides of the first end of the main shaft; and a second scraper spaced apart from the first scraper and extending perpendicular to the main shaft from opposite sides of the main shaft. A heat shield for a hand-held tool is also provided, comprising a handle having a grip section, and a concave-upward, bowl-shaped structure secured to a first end of the handle and positioned below the grip-section of the handle. The grill tool may also comprise a first cleaning surface on a top of the first scraper and a second cleaning surface on a bottom of the second scraper.
Abstract: A draw cut utility knife includes an elongated handle and a head holding a blade. The handle defines a thin central portion surrounded by a flange extending around its perimeter, the central portion aligning with the blade. The head has a rounded edge from which the blade protrudes, and is formed around the blade in a manner permanently embedding it in the head. The central portion may have cut outs for reduced weight, and the head preferably includes a thickened portion for holding the blade adjacent a centrally located cut out which accommodates a user's finger. A second blade may be secured to another thickened portion of the head opposite the first blade, both blades permanently secured in the head with a rearward sharpened edge allowing the knife to be safely drawn toward a user and easily guided for a precision cut.
Abstract: A container or pan for producing predetermined food portions is disclosed. Indicia are formed on the container at selected intervals adjacent an outer peripheral edge. A cutting blade is provided having a length substantially equivalent to a length, or a width, or a diameter of the container; or to a distance between a pair of cooperating indicia. The cutting blade is adapted to extend from the indicia on one side of the container to the indicia on another side of the container. The cutting member is placed in alignment with the respective indicia and then forced downwardly through the food. The indicia provide a guide to readily align the cutting blade for cutting the food into selected sized portions without having to measure and mark the food prior to cutting.
Abstract: An improvement to the standard manually powered cold knife used to remove vehicle windows is disclosed. The standard cold knife has a main handle, which is generally cylindrical. A blade is fixedly attached to the base of the handle, and is shaped to reach beneath vehicle window glass. A pull handle is attached at or near the base of the main handle of the standard cold knife. The invention is an additional stiff pull handle attached at or near the top of the main handle. The length of the additional pull handle is designed to roughly match that of the first pull handle, and the grip is designed so that the grip on the first pull handle roughly fits into it, allowing them to be comfortably gripped together.
Abstract: A dressing tool for opening the abdomen and diaphragm of slaughtered animals comprises a knife (1) that extends like a bridge (4) between two short, substantially cylindrical pieces of tube (2) through which two fingers can be passed in order to hold the tool during use. The short pieces of tube (2) and the bridge (4) therebetween may be made of plastic and the knife (1) is then embedded in the bridge (4), with only the knife edge exposed. The short pieces of tube (2) may have longitudinal slits (3) and/or be slightly conical. The edge of the knife (1) expediently extends along the whole edge of the bridge (4) from one of the short pieces of tube (2) to the other.
Abstract: A tool for cutting and thereby separating the pulp or edible portion of a melon from the rind portion thereof comprising an elongated flexible material blade capable of being selectively disposed into either a first operative position or a second operative position. The first or second operative position into which the blade is positioned for cutting engagement with a melon is dependent upon the configuration and size of the melon which typically varies between a substantially round configuration or an elongated configuration.
Abstract: A utility knife device for electric cables having an elongated blade member downwardly curved along its length and including a first and second end portion. A first handle is rigidly attached to the first end portion and a second handle is rigidly attached to the second end portion. The first handle and second handle are downwardly angled from a horizontal reference plane tangential with the top surface of the curved blade. The blade includes a sharpened front edge which is concavely shaped.
Abstract: A method and device for filleting fish using an adjustable cutting blade, having a cutting edge mounted between first and second parallel legs which are rigidly connected by a base portion, opposed to the cutting blade. The length and curvature of the blade may be adjusted to conform to the thickness and roundness of the fish to be filleted.
