A battery-operated motor is mounted in the sleeve and forcibly rotates the shaft to twist the forked end. A gear reduction mechanism operably couples the motor drive shaft with the shaft of the forked end for controlled rotary movement effective to gather a pasta food product about the tines during an eating procedure. Bearing elements rotatably mount all turning shafts and control switches are employed to effect starting and stopping operations as well as RPM control.

    Abstract: A combination utensil is disclosed. The utensil features at least one recess along the back of its handle portion, and a nonlinear end which is received by the user's hand. Both of these features facilitate the utensil's used. Additionally, the other end of the handle portion features a recess adapted for reception of the user's finger. This enables the user to apply pressure to the implement end of the utensil. Placement of this recess on the handle portion and not on the implement portion allows a configuration of the implement portion which includes a concave recess. The short tines project along parallel axes from the forward end of the flat body portion extending from the fork's handle. The flat body portion of the improved fork contains in its upper surface a generally rectangular depression. The tines have a length about one fifth the length of the fork's flat body portion. The surfaces which join the tines to the flat body portion are all curved and all surfaces of the fork are polished during manufacture of the fork.
