Abstract: A closure system includes an inner cap including a plurality of driving structures disposed proximate a periphery of a top surface of the inner cap, a child proof element separated from the inner cap configured to be assembled with the inner cap to form a child proof cap, and a key having a plurality of projections. The child proof element when assembled with the inner cap in a child proof mode is configured to require the plurality of projections of the key to engage at least a portion of the plurality of driving structures of the inner cap to remove the assembled child proof cap when the child proof cap is installed on the container.

Abstract: This can opening machine comprises a lower guide ring to center the top of the single-piece can, comprising a centering chamfered face and an upper stop face. A piston arranged in the tool for cutting out the can lid is pushed downwards by a spring extending low enough to separate the cut out lid from the tool. The lid remains in the can during turning and content emptying operations.

Abstract: A punch member is provided sized to span the top of a can. The punch member includes a pair of spaced blades for piercing the can top and after use is adapted to be re-inserted into the pierced holes to provide a seal for the can top. In an alternative embodiment, means are provided for clamping the punch into secure sealing engagement with the pierced can top. In yet still another alternative embodiment, means are provided operative when the can top opener is in sealing engagement with the can top to indicate the level of the can's contents.

Abstract: Apparatus for opening and reclosing beverage cans in a first embodiment includes a tool having piercing and forming portions for opening an aperture in and shaping a flap depending from an end wall of a beverage can spaced a predetermined distance spaced substantially away from the cylindrical side wall of the can sufficient to permit the forming portion to displace the flap resulting from the piercing closely against the interior surface of the end wall of the can such that the interior surface surrounding the periphery of the aperture thus formed is substantially planar, and in a second embodiment includes a tool having a cylindrical piercing portion, the apparatus further including a plug carried on the tool for reclosing and sealing the aperture in the can.

Abstract: A lid arrangement for a ski wax can with a tear-off casing. Said lid comprising a bottom surrounded by a peripheral skirt adapted to lie against the exterior of the casing. A sharp edge or knife edge is arranged on the interior of the lid at its skirt and facing away from the bottom of the lid. Said edge producing a cut in the upper edge of the can casing when being placed on the can. Said cut facilitating the initial tearing-off of the upper portion of the can casing. The cut produced has a depth preferably equal to the distance between peripheral, parallel score lines provided in the box casing for tearing purposes.

Abstract: A container opener particularly adapted for opening a container wherein the end wall of the container is provided with a preformed line of weakness. The container opener includes a closure member having depending therefrom an annular blade tapering in height for progressively effecting rupture along the line of weakness. A magnet is centrally located within the blade for retaining the cutout panel portion. The opener may be a simple device which is directly pushed toward the container manually, or may be incorporated in a suitable fixture including a base for supporting the container to be opened in a predetermined position.

Abstract: An opener for removing an end panel portion of a container end unit. The opener includes a simple housing which may be molded of plastics material and which carries a blade for penetrating and severing the end panel along a preformed weakening line in the form of a score. There is also a magnet for retaining the severed end panel portion relative to the opener. Further, the housing has a separate skirt portion which is radially movable and which carries a ridge for underlying a double seam securing an end unit to a container body so as to lock the opener on the end unit once the blade has penetrated the end panel.
