Variable Cutter Radius Patents (Class 30/438)
  • Patent number: 10518426
Abstract: A folding knife with a combination bottle opener and actuation extension preferably includes a bottle opening member and a fastener. The bottle opening member includes a base member a first extended leg and a second extended leg. The first extended leg extends from one side of the base member at a top of the base member. The second extended leg extends from the one side of the base member at a bottom of the base member. The second extended leg extends outward and upward from the base member. A retention hole is formed through the base member for retention on a knife blade of a folding knife. A set screw may also be retained in the base member. A knife slot is formed in the base member and a portion of the second extended leg to receive a width of a back edge of the knife blade.

  • Patent number: 10443770
Abstract: In a tool for mounting and dismounting a pipe clamp provided by the present creation, a first end portion and a movable second end portion are separately disposed on a base, and a connecting rod mechanism is used to convert circular motion into linear motion of the second end portion by force, so as to reduce the distance between the second end portion and the first end portion, thereby achieving an effect that the annular inner diameter of a pipe clamp is increased when the pipe clamp is held between the first end portion and the second end portion.

  • Patent number: 5189792
Abstract: A reciprocatory cutter head includes a pair of cutter heads mounted to a head frame. Each of the cutter heads is of elongated configuration extending horizontally to define a longitudinal axis and have opposed longitudinal ends. The cutter head includes an elongated outer shearing foil which comes into hair shearing engagement with an inner cutter driven to reciprocate along the longitudinal axis. The cutter heads are floatingly supported to the head frame in such a manner that the cutter heads are vertically movable relative to the head frame independently from each other as well as that each of the cutter heads is vertically movable at one longitudinal end substantially independently of the other longitudinal end. Whereby, the cutter heads cooperate with each other to readily conform to the shapes of a user's skin with maximum skin engaging area for assuring enhanced shaving performance, particularly at the irregularly contoured portions of the skin.

  • Patent number: 5185926
Abstract: By providing at least three separate and independent foil members each of which cooperate with a separate and independent cutting blade system which is biased into engagement with the foil member and freely flexible in a plurality of directions, a substantially improved electric dry shaver is obtained. In the present invention, a unique cutting blade support assembly is provided which assures free flexible movement of the cutting blades, while also continuously and positively biasingly maintaining the cutting blades in contact with the foil member. In addition, the multiple foil construction of this invention provides a system wherein foil members having different physical characteristics are mountable to the shaver, thereby providing substantially enhanced cutting capabilities and more universal applicability to unusual or mixed shaving conditions.

  • Patent number: 4589205
Abstract: An inner cutter for electric shavers is disclosed. The inner cutter comprises a plurality of inner blades mounted on a base member to be driven to move in sliding engagement with an outer shearing plate having a number of perforations therein. Each inner blade has along its length the cutting edge of different configurations including at least a toothed edge so as to define a first cutting edge of a greater overall width determined by the amount of projection of the tooth in the direction of movement of the inner blade and a second cutting edge in the form of a straight edge or toothed edge of an overall width less than that of the first cutting edge. The first cutting edge is responsible for efficiently capturing and cutting long hairs into shorter ones, while the second cutting edge is for giving a close shave on the skin of a user. Accordingly, the long hairs can receive two different cutting operations at each inner blade so as to be in a close cut after being successfully captured.

  • Patent number: 4428117
Abstract: A reciprocating type electric shaver comprises an inner-blade mount holding many inner blades and connected to a first driver-element converting rotary motion of a motor into reciprocating motions and an outer blade connected to a second driver-element reciprocated at a mechanical phase reverse to the first driver-element so that the inner blades and outer blade can slidably engage with each other mutually at mechanically reverse phase and the relative momentum of the outer blade with respect to the inner blades can be enlarged.
