Tool Rotates About Axis Perpendicular To Work Patents (Class 30/477)
  • Patent number: 6148880
Abstract: A planer-type face milling machine for processing wood having a drive motor that is coupled to a work spindle, which supports, on a free end, a milling head, which on its front side supports cutting edges, the milling head being configured particularly as a disk-shaped body, running parallel to the workpiece surface, the milling cutting edges being supported by a cutter, particularly a planar one, furnished with main and secondary cutting edges, and removably arranged on the milling head, is configured as a particularly effective and-tool machine in that the planer-type face milling machine is correspondingly small and light and has a housing having a handle, the milling head supporting a cutter without a main cutting edge and having only at least one secondary cutting edge.

  • Patent number: 5383275
Abstract: A hand planer comprises a housing, a planer head supported in the housing, a motor driving the planer head, a fan blower connected with the motor for generating a flow of air for moving chips, a chip ejector, two air guidance ducts through which the flow of air is guided from the fan blower to the chip ejector, a chip conveying duct having a chip discharge opening such that planed chips exit the chip conveying duct through the chip discharge opening, the chip ejector accommodating both the chips and the flow of air, and guides for guiding the flow of air in a switchable manner to the chip conveying duct via one of the two air guidance ducts. Therefore the problem of ejecting the chips in a preselected direction with extreme precision and high efficiency is met.

  • Patent number: 5368424
Abstract: The present invention provides a small, portable hand-held tool having a rotating cutter blade therein. The blade is adjustable to extend within to a very small degree above the base of the tool to engage and trim off such imperfections in the surface of the paint job without cutting into the surface itself. In its preferred embodiment, the present invention contains a lubricant dispenser for providing lubricant to the surface being treated and may include a light source to aid in detecting imperfections.
