Adjustable Mouthpiece Patents (Class 30/490)
  • Patent number: 7530173
Abstract: A variable cutting angle hand plane is provided. The variable cutting hand plan has a base unit configured for holding an iron, wherein the base unit has a sole and a throat extending through the base unit to the sole. The base unit has an adjustable frog for supporting the iron at multiple angles with respect to the sole. A means for engaging the iron is used for holding the iron against the adjustable frog. The hand plane may have an adjustable throat. There may be a means for indicating the approximate angle of the adjustable frog.

  • Patent number: 4584772
Abstract: A hand-held planing tool has a housing with a chamber adapted to receive a rotary driven planer head. The chamber is sized to receive either a small planer head and blade which makes a shallow flat planar cut in a workpiece, or a larger planer head and blade which makes a profiling cut (e.g., an irregular cut) in a workpiece. The housing carries support members which extend downwardly to different depths to contact the portions of the profiling cut which are of corresponding depths, and thereby adapt the tool to travel along the profile.

  • Patent number: 4555850
Abstract: A hand plane, especially a hand plane machine, is provided with an adjusting and indicating arrangement for the planing depth. A wedge which is located before the tool element of the hand plane machine is adjustably fixed to an inclined base surface of the housing and constitutes the contact surface of the hand plane machine. A part of the wedge projects beyond the forward edge of the housing and is provided at its upper side with a scale. By means of the housing edge, the displacment of the wedge and consequently the adjustment of the planing depth can be read from the scale. The hand plane is of simple structure and good stability with respect to the adjustment, wherein the wedge can be fastened to the housing for example through screwing.
