Abstract: A parting tool for parting seams and/or cutting threads or the like is disclosed. The parting tool may include an arc-shaped blade located between two tines of unequal length to effect a cut. The long tine may have a thorn-like point and the short tine may have a spherical thickening above the blade. The tines pass over into a shaft, which is fastened to one end of a shaft holder or mounting. The shaft mounting may include at its other end a pressure surface oriented perpendicularly to the blade and a rotation axle located at a defined distance in front of the pressure surface and oriented perpendicularly to the blade. The rotation axle may be rotatably supported in the lateral surfaces of a casing open within the rotation range of the shaft holder. A stop is provided within the casing for the shaft of the parting tool in the swivelled in, rest position. The stop may be a spring elastic element.
Abstract: There is described a suture removing device comprising a body having a handle portion, a head portion, and a cutting edge provided in the head portion. The head portion has a leading end with a forked tip and a surface extending rearwardly of the tip to the cutting edge. The forked tip is inserted below a suture to lift the suture from the skin and pushed forwards such that the suture rides along the surface and on to the cutting edge where the suture is cut. The forked tip of the device is then placed around the suture, below the suture knot, to allow the suture to be pulled out.
Abstract: A seam ripper comprising a holder and a blade has a guide portion in the holder with a notch for exposing a portion of the blade. The guide portion has upper and lower surface which form a wedge for separating the cloth from the seam so that only the stitching in the seam is engaged by the blade.
Abstract: A cutting blade for a hand-held cutter for cutting a cloth cover from a dampener roller without damaging any material under the cutter. The blade has an upwardly curved front bottom edge portion, a convexly curved front tip portion, and a concavely curved upwardly extending cutting edge portion.
Abstract: A loop cutting tool comprising a body member of sheet material having an elongated nose at one end and a handle at the other end. A region of the sheet material of the body member is deformed to define a blade supporting section which includes a side wall and a ledge. A blade is positioned on the ledge against the side wall with the cutting edge of the blade being exposed. A guard is mounted on the body member and is positionable over the cutting edge of the blade.

Abstract: An inexpensive suture cutter is shown in which the cutting portion is a sharpened edge of a wire-like member one-eighth inch or less in diameter at the cutting portion. This wire-like cutting portion has a blunt end to prevent accidental penetration of the skin as the knife portion of the cutter is slid under the sutures which are then cut as the cutting edge is slid along and underneath the sutures. Prior to cutting a length of adhesive tape is placed on and secured to the sutures to be cut and removed. The edge of the tape is placed adjacent or over the proposed cutting path. The sutures are removed by and when the tape is lifted from the skin after the sutures have been severed by the cutter.
