  • Patent number: 9168969
Abstract: A bottom bracket assembly of a bicycle that cooperates in an eccentric or off-center manner with a bottom bracket shell of a bicycle frame. The eccentric bottom bracket assembly has a cylindrical insert with an off-centered opening for receiving a spindle that connects to cranks of the crankset. Rotating the cylindrical insert repositions the off-centered opening relative to at least the longitudinal direction of the bicycle and thus can be used to adjust the tension in the flexible drive member of the bicycle. A worm gear arrangement provides controlled manipulation of the position of the insert relative to the bicycle frame.

Abstract: A wheel support bearing assembly, which enables an increase in the strength and the fatigue strength of its wheel mounting flange or vehicle body fitting flange against high stress and repeated stress and the suppression of the increase of the number of processes, includes an inner member and an outer member rotatable relative to each other through rolling elements. The flange is formed on the inner member or the outer member, for example, a hub. A component part having the flange is a hot-forged product of steel in which a matrix portion is formed as a standard structure and the non-standard structural portion is formed on the surface of the flange. The non-standard structure is formed of either of a fine ferrite/pearlite structure, an upper bainite structure, a lower bainite structure, and a tempered martensite structure, or mixture of two or more of these structures.

Abstract: The invention relates to a unit comprising a carrier and a wheel bearing. The wheel bearing comprises at least one outer ring which is provided with at least one track for the rolling bodies. According the invention, the wheel bearing is maintained on the carrier in a fixed manner in relation to the carrier in a first receiving element by means of a first connection projection, and in a second receiving element by means of a second connection projection, at least in both axial directions of the wheel bearing, respectively by means of an end which axially borders on each of the connection projections.

  • Patent number: 6527347
Abstract: In the operation of a track chain assembly a high degree of wear is normally experienced due to the environment in which a track-type machine must operate. This wear is typically accelerated by foreign matter that is carried by an idler member of the track chain assembly and is permitted to remain on its contact surfaces as they engage the other track chain components. The present invention provides a scraper assembly that defines a plurality of scraping portions that are adapted to carry a scraping insert on an end portion thereof. The scraping inserts are continuously urged into engagement with the contact surfaces of the idler to remove foreign material therefrom before the contact surfaces engage other track chain components.
