    Abstract: An outside diameter of a rim spacer of a vehicle wheel is formed with an equal outside diameter dimension to those of fringe portions and of an outer rim making it possible to prevent a step from being produced between the fringe portion of the outer rim and the rim spacer. An abutment portion of an inner rim has an outside diameter formed with an equivalent diameter to the outside diameter of the rim spacer to prevent a step from being produced therebetween. This prevents an inner tire from being inclined diagonally between the inner rim and the rim spacer and also prevents a bead seat band and the like of the inner tire from being caught between the outer rim and the rim spacer.

A tying member may tie each protruding portion to the rim, and the tying members may remain in tension while the wheel assembly is unloaded.     Abstract: Novel wheel assemblies for use in track drive systems in a tracked vehicle, in support of improving uniformity of pressure distribution across the width of the track, between the track and the underlying ground surface, where track installed on the vehicle is wider than the wheel bodies which are supplied as original equipment with the tracked vehicle. Such improved uniformity of pressure is achieved by adding, to the wheels of such tracked vehicle, auxiliary wheel bodies which extend the widths of the wheels to widths more reflective of the width of the track being used in such vehicle. In cases where different track widths are sequentially employed on a given vehicle, auxiliary wheel assemblies of respective different widths can be sequentially mounted, removed, and the like to reflect the widths of the tracks being employed.

The wheels (13, 13A) are of the same size, but the diameter of the outer wheel rim (32) is smaller than the inner wheel rim (12), to permit the inner tire (13) to pass over the outer wheel rim (32), thereby enabling the inner tire (13) to be removed without first removing the outer wheel rim (32). Removable bead seats (37, 40) are provided between the outer wheel rim (32) and its tire (13A). These bead seats are thicker than the corresponding bead seat(s) on the inner wheel (10) to compensate for the reduced diameter of the outer wheel rim.
