Disc Reinforcing Structure At Lug Bolt Opening Patents (Class 301/35.626)
  • Patent number: 11697304
Abstract: A mounting portion of a disc includes a flat plate portion having a pressing surface to be pressed against a hub of an axle, and a plurality of nut support portions protruding from the flat plate portion to a side opposite to the pressing surface in an axial direction of the disc, and having an annular shape as viewed from the axial direction. A bolt hole is provided to penetrate the nut support portion in the axial direction. The nut support portion includes a bulging portion curving to bulge outward in a radial direction of the nut support portion, and a protruding portion disposed adjacent to the bulging portion in a circumferential direction of the nut support portion, and protruding inward in the radial direction of the nut support portion with respect to the bulging portion.

  • Patent number: 10183525
Abstract: A wheel for a motor vehicle, has a rim intended to receive a tire and a wheel disc made of fiber composite material joined to the rim, as well as an arrangement including screws or nuts for fastening the wheel disc to a wheel hub, for which purpose the wheel disc has axially directed openings for the passage of the screws or threaded bolts for screwing onto the nuts. The arrangement includes, for each opening of the wheel disc, an insulating body, a bush and a washer, each having a central opening, which surround the opening of the wheel disc in a U-shape, wherein the bush rests as a frame at an inner circumference of the opening, and the insulating body and the washer, resting against the frame and against the wheel disc in each case on one side of the wheel, at least partially cover the wheel disc in the radial direction. The insulating body is directed towards the wheel inside and the washer is directed towards the wheel outside. The insulating body can consist at least partially of ceramic material.

  • Patent number: 8840194
Abstract: Embodiments of this invention comprise a vehicle wheel made primarily of moldable plastic. The portion of the wheel which is physically connected to the rotor is made of metal. The wheel has a plurality of openings spaced to allow air circulation sufficient to provide dissipation of the heat build up which occurs during normal vehicle operation. This improved vehicle wheel securely holds the pneumatic tire and effectively supports the vehicle during operation. Other applications which would benefit by replacing metal wheels and gears with lighter, fully functional wheels and gears are also contemplated by this invention. Another embodiment comprises a method for manufacturing this vehicle wheel.

  • Patent number: 7464995
Abstract: According to the invention, the fabricated vehicle wheel includes a conventional full wheel rim and a unique wheel disc joined to the wheel rim. The wheel disc includes an inner wheel mounting pad, an outer annular rim connecting flange and a plurality of radial spokes connecting the inner wheel mounting pad to the rim connecting flange. The rim connecting flange extends in an axial direction and defines a side edge surface extending between each pair of adjacent spokes. A plurality of windows are formed in the wheel disc. Each of the windows has a predetermined shape defined by the adjacent spokes and the side edge surface of the rim connecting flange. The rim connecting flange and the side edge surface are configured such that the window extends to an outermost periphery of the wheel disc. The inner wheel mounting pad includes at least one rib provided therein. The rib has an outer surface and an inner surface, at least one of the outer surface and the inner surface is provided with a flat planar surface.

  • Patent number: 6997519
Abstract: A coated center disk wheel produced from sheet metal for a motor vehicle, which has a wheel-center disk (1) provided with a plurality of connecting eyes (3) which are distributed over a hole circle (2) and have in each case a through-hole (4). Around the hole is a countersink (7) against which rests, in the mounted state of the center disk wheel, the head (9) of a wheel bolt (6) projecting through the respective through-hole (4). Fastened to the wheel hub, at least a part (10) of the surface of each countersink (7) is structured by elevations (11) and indentations (12) located side by side. In the mounted state of the center disk wheel, the wheel bolt heads (9) are in contact only with the elevations (11) on those surfaces (13) which are substantially free of paint (14) with which the remaining surface of the center disk wheel is coated. The paint is removed from the contact surfaces (13) of the elevations (11) on tightening the wheel bolts (6).
