Abstract: A cover for a rim of a wheel of a vehicle. The cover, with fastening of the cover on the rim, can be arranged in at least partially overlap with a through opening of the rim delimited in the circumferential direction of the rim by respective spokes of the rim, whereby the through opening can be at least partially covered by the cover. The cover is directionally formed and has at least two slats, which delimit at least one channel arranged between the slats, through which air can flow in the installed position of the cover diagonally to a plane extending perpendicularly to the axial direction of the rim. The slats at least partially mutually overlap with respect to the installed position of the cover in the circumferential direction of the rim and along the axial direction of the rim.
Abstract: A drum brake assembly for use with a wheel end electric drive motor arrangement can generate brake dust, which may accumulate on the electric motor and cause heat retention problems that are detrimental to motor performance and longevity. These issues are addressed by providing an assembly including a support attachable to a vehicle axle element, brake shoes pivotally mountable on the support, and a wheel spindle interconnected with one end of the axle element. A wheel hub is rotatable around the spindle, and an electric motor unit is disposed between an end of the axle element and the spindle to produce rotation of the hub relative to the axle element. A brake drum is securable to the hub for rotation with the hub relative to the spindle by way of the electric motor unit. The brake drum includes a circumferential perimeter wall overlying the brake shoes, and a fan rotor is interconnected with that wall for rotation together with the drum and the wheel hub relative to the spindle.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a wheel (1) which comprises a rim (4) and a thereto connected spoke structure (3) made out of fiber reinforced plastic material. An insert (2) is embedded in the fiber reinforced material at the center of the spoke structure (3). The insert (2) protrudes in at least one region above the surface of the fiber reinforced plastic material (16) forming at least one contact area (10, 14, 5).
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing a configurable wheel cover and to a product thereof. The method comprises: (a) providing a hub cover including a plurality of locking voids and a plurality of knobs; (b) providing an insert kit including a plurality of inserts, and a front end of each insert being connected with a tenon; and (c) configuring each tenon of the insert kit into each locking void from a top or a bottom of the hub cover. In addition, the present invention further provides a novel configurable wheel cover.
Abstract: An automobile wheel rim cover for fastening to a rim of a steel wheel having a plurality of mounting holes is disclosed having a plurality of through holes cut through opposing front and back walls of a cover body thereof corresponding to the mounting holes of the steel wheel, a plurality of upright flanges respectively protruded from the back wall of the cover body around the through holes, a plurality of beveled retaining devices protruded from an outer wall of each upright flange and insertable with the respective upright flanges through the mounting holes of the steel wheel for hooking on a back wall of the rim of the steel wheel.
Abstract: A overmask element suitable for being mounted on vehicle wheels comprises an outer surface suitable for facing towards the outside of the overmask and of the vehicle and an inner surface suitable for facing towards the wheel of the vehicle. Central fastening means and peripheral fastening means extend from the inner surface towards the wheel of the vehicle. The central fastening means are arranged along a first circumference of the overmask element at bolts of the wheel and the peripheral fastening means are arranged along a second circumference having a greater diameter than the first circumference. Both the central fastening means and the peripheral fastening means are shaped so as to make an exclusively snap-type mounting of the overmask element on elements of the wheel.
