Hollow Or Filled Patents (Class 301/64.705)
  • Patent number: 9365261
Abstract: A composite bicycle component comprises a first member, a second member, a bonding member, and an inner holding member. The first member is made of metallic material. The second member is made of non-metallic material. The first and second members are configured to form an interior cavity therebetween in a state where the first and second members are attached to each other. The bonding member is configured to attach the first and second members to each other. The inner holding member is configured to be disposed within the interior cavity so as to prevent the first and second members from being separated from each other until completion of attaching the first and second members to each other.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing a rim ring for a tire rim, in particular for a wired-on tire rim, with the following steps: providing an outer rim profile made of hardened composite fibrous material, providing a plastic shaping element, providing at least one top layer made of composite fibrous material, inserting the plastic shaping element radially within the outer rim profile, and positioning the top layer relative to the plastic shaping element and to the outer rim profile such that at least part of the top layer extends from the plastic shaping element onto the outside of the outer rim profile. The present invention further relates to a method for fastening spokes made of composite fibrous material to a rim ring. Finally, the present invention also relates to a rim ring, a wired-on tire rim and a bicycle with wired-on tire rims.

  • Publication number: 20090026834
Abstract: In the invention, a valve main body of a tire and an injection nozzle of an injection nozzle device are connected with a stopper pipe, a liquid resin is injected and filled in a tire inner tube, the stopper pipe is squashed, after filling up, at an intermediate exposed part thereof to prevent the filled resin in the tire inner tube from being leaked, and then the connection of the injection nozzle and the stopper pipe is released. Accordingly, the tire immediately after filling the liquid resin in the tire inner tube is detached from the injection nozzle in the state where the filled resin in a liquid state in the tire inner tube is prevented from being leaked, and the subsequent tire can be mounted, whereby there is no necessity of maintaining the state where the injection nozzle is connected to the tire until the liquid resin filled in the tire inner tube is gelled, and thus the operation of injecting and filling the liquid resin in the tire inner tube can be continuously carried out.

  • Patent number: 7361296
Abstract: A motor vehicle wheel frame is integrally molded in a split mold including a lower mold portion (12) and a complemental mold portion. Channel-like spoke forming formations (12.1) receive layers (24.1) of molding material wrapped around heat expanding, resilient intensifiers (20) which are inwardly checked by resilient locking inserts (22) partially within a hub cavity and abutting a cylinder (18). During demolding, after curing, the locking inserts (22) and thereafter the intensifiers (20) are removed by longitudinally stretching and cross-sectionally reducing them, leaving the spokes hollow. During curing, the heat expanding intensifiers pressurize the spoke forming layers of molding material against the mold portions.

  • Patent number: 6464305
Abstract: A blow-molded wheel including an axle retainer assembly. The retainer assembly includes a housing having transverse sleeves that support an axle and a spring biased retainer pin that mounts to an annular groove at the axle. The housing is supported in a cavity formed into a wheel spoke and a bore of a wheel hub and is retained upon the shrinkage of the plastic around the housing. An aperture of the pin sleeve facilitates retraction of the pin and release of the wheel from the axle.

  • Patent number: 6428114
Abstract: A wheel, in particular for a bicycle, preferably for a motorcycle, with a hub, a rim, and spokes or a disk extending between the hub and rim. The wheel is vertically divided so as to include two wheel parts, and each of the two wheel parts comprises as integral parts one half of each of the hub, the spokes or the disk, and the rim. The wheel is designed and constructed to provide a simple and cost-favorable production, while ensuring the necessary stability or rigidity. The two wheel parts are made at least largely identical, and joined together exclusively in the region of the hub and rim.
