Abstract: An apparatus includes a front panel that includes a front slot along an edge of the front panel and a back panel fixedly coupled to the front panel. The back panel includes a back slot along an edge of the back panel. The front slot and back slot align. A side panel is configured to fold into a gap between the front panel and the back panel, and a pivot coupling at a corner of the side panel. The pivot coupling is slidably coupled to the front and back slots. The corner of the side panel slidably moves along the front and back slots via the pivot coupling, and the side panel is movable from a stowed position in the gap to an open position to the side of the front and back panels by rotating the side panel and moving the pivot coupling along the front and back slots.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a device for holding portable electronics. The device may include a base, a plurality of legs rotatably connected to the base, and a platform rotatably connected to the base via at least one first hinge. The platform may be configured to receive an electronic device and to pivot about the at least one first hinge between a level position and an inclined position. The device of the present disclosure may further include a retractable grip connected to the platform and configured to move between a retracted position and an extended position outside of the platform. In the extended position, at least one contact of the retractable grip may be configured to provide a bias force to an upper surface of the electronic device, such that at least a portion of the electronic device is disposed between the platform and the at least one contact.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a portable-device presentation system having a substantially-planar substrate; a first clamp coupled to the substrate; and a second clamp slidably coupled to the substrate, each of the first and second clamps having respective opposing contact surfaces that have substantially no curvature along axes substantially parallel to the substantially-planar substrate at a contact elevation above the substantially-planar substrate, wherein when a user slides the second clamp to a maximum display-size position and lays a display device on the substantially-planar substrate between the first clamp and the second clamp, the user may then secure the display device to the presentation system by sliding the second clamp to sandwich the display device between the two respective opposing contact surfaces and securing the second clamp using a hand-operated securing member. In various embodiments, a presentation system may secure portable display devices of many different sizes.

A method of viewing a specimen is also provided.

Abstract: The present invention extends to a portable art easel that is lightweight, contains minimal parts, and is easy to transport and set-up thereby facilitating the use of the easel in virtually any desired location. The portable easel can be configured to form a box shape when closed making the easel easily transportable. The lid of the box shape can be folded open and include an adjustable canvas holder for supporting a canvas while the bottom portion of the box shape can serve as a palette or palette holder. The bottom portion can also be configured to attach to a tripod.

Abstract: The invention features a golf swing improvement device meant to improve a golf player's game. The device includes a first and second member connected with each other by way of a hinge portion. Extrusions extending from an outer wall of the first member protect the device from being hit by a player's dub during play, practice or while putting. The device also contemplates a configuration to enable use of golf alignment devices and/or sticks.

Abstract: A configurable briefcase desktop having two generally planar support columns, each support column having a fixed length section and an extendable section. The extendable section of each support column is comprised of a scissors linkage and an elongated foot member. The elongated foot member provides improved load distribution across the surface supporting the invention. Embodiments typically include a fold lock mechanism to releasably lock each support column in its folded configuration. Other embodiments have a support stiffening mechanism adapted to yieldably resist movement of its respective support member from its support configuration. Further embodiments comprise at least one load sensor system to provide a warning signal when the extendable section of a support column is in extended configuration and subjected to a compression force in excess of a predetermined amount. In some embodiments the fold lock mechanism and support stiffening mechanism of a particular support column may be mechanically ganged.

Abstract: The invention is a mobile blueprint holder wherein a box mounts along an interior side of a pickup truck bed. The box opens to allow the blueprint table to fold out where the blueprint table rests at an angle. When not in use the blueprints and the blueprint table fold away for safe storage. The blueprint table folds along the middle and contains a plurality of clips for holding a blueprint in place.

Abstract: A field easel with an integrated sketch box is provided. The sketch box comprises cavities for art supplies, allowing art supplies to be stored inside the cavity and secured with plates covered in memory foam. An easel is hinged to the rear wall of the box such that the easel can display painting support in a multitude of angles, and the easel provides adjustable support clamps that accept different sizes of painting support and can raise and lower the height of the painting support with respect to the box. Optionally, the field easel can be secured to a standardized tripod.

Abstract: A wheelchair accommodating system and method for providing an ergonomically suitable environment for users having a motor skill limitation and users without a motor skill limitation is provided. Abstract: The drawing horse and multi-task work station is adapted to support a planar board for use by a user. The station includes a generally rectangular, three dimensional central frame structure having a width small enough to be straddled by the user. Planar, rectangular end frame structures are mounted on either end of the central frame structure. The end frame structures include upwardly extending frame portions with a pair of extending end posts thereat. In one embodiment, the work station is provided with a removable drafting board system having pivotal end support elements, supporting the drafting board thereon, mounted to left and right side cross support beams. The cross support beams are removably mounted on the end posts of the end frame structures with end post caps. The caps are at either end of the cross support beams. In another embodiment, the station includes a tray.

This or another one of the tabular elements (25) may be provided with a repeatably adherent adhesive substance (54) of low adhesion to permit peeling off therefrom of items of sheet material temporarily mounted thereon. Another one of the tabular elements (26) supports, when the case is open, a cutting device (62) for trimming the items of sheet material to desired sizes.

Abstract: An easel has generous shelf area disposed into a U-shaped workshop environment. The easel has a lower structure made of a central frame and lateral left and right frames hingedly connected to the central frame. Each of the central and lateral frames has one or more shelves set therein. The shelves are at arm's length to an artist standing or sitting within the workshop environment. The easel also comprises a work support structure connected to the top member of the central frame. Handrails are provided along the top edge of each frame and a footrest is mounted across a lower portion of each frame. These handrails and footrests are accessible to a user of the easel for bracing himself/herself when leaning forward toward a canvas or when moving into similar out of balance stances.

Abstract: A portable easel and seat for artists is foldable into a compact unit and has wheels for pushing or towing to a site. The easel comprises a box having removable wheels mounted at a rear end, and two legs pivoted at the front end of the box, the legs extend down to a locked lowered position. A seat is provided at the rear end of the box with a folding back, and an easel frame with first pairs and second pairs of foldable arms pivoted together and to the front end of the box that can either be flat on the box in a folded position or open up to form an easel. Mounting strips are provided on the arms to support canvases or boards.

Abstract: An easel is pivotally attached to a palette about an axis by at least one hinge. According to a first embodiment an extensible member is detachably attached to the palette and includes a first retracted position and a second extended position wherein the extensible member substantially extends to the rear of the palette in the second position. A brace having a slot is detachably attached at one end thereof to an end of the extensible member disposed furthest to the rear of the palette and is detachably attached at a remaining end thereof to said easel. A pair of thumbscrews pass through the slot at opposite ends thereof and are used to tighten the brace to the extensible member and to the easel, thereby securing the easel in a desired position with respect to the palette.

Abstract: A simple and elegant activity center and drawing table is described; the preferred example is for children to use in bed, and consists of a drawing surface mounted on a rectangular frame, which is in turn supported on two boxes. The boxes sit on either side of the legs of a bed-ridden child, and are open on the sides for storage. Rolls of paper on either side of the drawing surface supply drawing paper; a window in the drawing surface and a gravity bar to hold a subject design allow tracing; and a latch-and-pivot behind the frame, in conjunction with hinges between the frame and boxes, allow the drawing surface to be raised to predetermined oblique angles. Alternatively, the surface may sit flat and be used as a table. A lip prevents crayons, pencils, or books from sliding off, and all parts near the front are rounded to prevent injury. All the described mechanisms can be easily manoeuvred by a child while in bed, without adult help.

Abstract: A novel and improved drawing desk is provided which can be folded between a storage position and a drawing position. The desk has a center leg which raises from a first end located on the floor to a second end which is pivotally attached to an end leg. By pivotally attaching the center and end legs, the longitudinal axes of the center leg and end leg can be positioned so that they are substantially parallel in the storage position and substantially transverse in the drawing position. An easel is pivotally attached to the center leg for receiving a removable drawing board. A seat assembly, pivotally attached to the center leg, has a protruding seat arm adapted to engage a seat slot disposed in the center leg and a device for adjusting the position of the seat in order to accommodate users of different sizes. In the preferred embodiment, the adjusting device comprises the seat leg having a bottom end which is adapted to engage a plurality of openings disposed along the center leg.

Abstract: An easel cart has wheels and shelves which are open on two sides. Opposed U-shaped channels extend vertically on each open side and are adapted to receive collapsed easel doors. An easel door is folded into each set of easel door guides when the unit is not being used and in storage. Each easel door has two easel boards connected by a flexible hinge. The easel doors prevent access to the cart interior when stored in the channels and may be removed from the cart to serve as portable easels. Two easel positioning blocks with inclined grooves steady the easels and dispose the easel boards at a desired vertically inclined angle.

Abstract: A desk secretary arranged for the storage of information components in a perimeter relationship about the central memo board, wherein the memo board is of an erasable polymeric sheet construction. An upper board member mounted to the lower board member at an oblique angle thereto provides support for various information components such as a calendar and the like. A magnetized memo plate is positioned along a left border plate of the lower board member for mounting various removable magnetic plate members thereto for support of messages. A modification of the invention includes a cooling housing selectively and removably mounted relative to the upper board member to direct a cooling air to a user of the organization permitting its use in a convenient manner in various environments.

Abstract: A desk apparatus for use as a desk or easel is arranged, wherein the desk plate is mounted upon an underlying rectangular framework, including a forward pivoting of the plate and a rear telescoping leg to orient the desk plate at a predetermined angle. A forward tray is selectively and pivotally mounted relative to a forward end of the desk plate, with container drawers slidably mounted orthogonally relative to opposed side edges of the desk plate. A modification of the invention includes indicator members arranged for indication of desired orientation of each container drawer relative to the desk plate utilizing fiber optical cables selectively alignable relative to the container and desk plate.

Abstract: A flat file for storing drawings, providing an easy way to pull a drawing from the middle of a stack of drawings without disrupting the previous order of the stack. A movable board mechanism allows one to lift the drawings stacked on top of a selected drawing and hold them while the selected drawing is retrieved. Later the drawing can be replaced under the board mechanism and the stack returned to its original order.

Abstract: A drafting table that is convertable into an office desk. A first pedal member allows the user to adjust the angle of a platform that supports a preselected drafting board and a second pedal member allows the user to adjust the position of the board with respect to the platform. The desk or table includes hingedly-mounted door members which lock automatically when the board-supporting platform is in its down position.

Abstract: A portable desk having a work surface panel is supported over a seated user by support compartments which extend to the seat surface during use. The support compartment folds to the underside of the work surface panel when not in use so that the desk can be freestanding on the work surface panel front edge. The support compartments provide storage for books and a pencil holder. A drawer beneath the work surface panel is slideable in two directions, toward the user for access and away from the user to support books or papers proximate the work surface panel and is sandwiched between the work surface panel and the storage compartments when the storage compartment are folded under the work surface panel.

Abstract: A convertible sofa table is provided and consists of a file cabinet conformed in the shape of a sofa on one side with seat and backrest cushions and a foldable table top having two leaves hinged together which open up into a drafting table. A support is hinged to the top of the file cabinet so that one of the leaves can be horizontally positioned to act as a regular table.

Abstract: A portable clipboard includes an integral storage box for transporting various accessories such as pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, calculators, etc. The writing surface of the clipboard is provided with a spring retaining clip for securing papers and is mounted by a hinge to a shallow rectangular box. In a second embodiment, a battery operated light is secured by a flexible stem on the upper surface of the clipboard and a digital clock is also provided.

Abstract: A combined and portable artist's supply box and easel, which includes a permanent easel also serving as a handle by which the device is carried and transported. A second foldable and removable easel is also provided for providing a greater supporting easel surface. The second, removable easel is stored when not used in a special compartment of the device. The device includes other compartments and drawers for the storage of supplies, material, and tools. In a second embodiment, the device is designed for support on a bed for use by bed-ridden and infirm persons in hospitals or homes, or for children.

Abstract: A multi-function satchel which can be carried on the shoulder of the user when folded up, thus holding books, stationary and the like. It can also be opened up to a wide flat surface for writing, reading or drawing by placing the two cases of this satchel side-by-side with their lids pivotally opened to provide a larger area or a bookrest. In addition, a lamp and dry batteries may be provided in this satchel for illumination purposes.

Abstract: An inclined work surface comprised of a work surface and a support for incliningly supporting the work surface from a desk, table, or other horizontal resting surface. The inclined work surface includes a storage compartment within the support and the work surface is hinged to the support above the storage compartment. The inclined work surface is at least as wide as the knee-hole on an office-type desk and has an angle of inclination between about 2 degrees and about 10 degrees. The inclined work surface also includes a calendar apparatus which rests within the support and is accessible through an opening in the work surface. The calendar apparatus includes an adjusting assembly for adjusting the height of the calendar pages.

Abstract: A display board attachment used by machinists in machine shops includes a display board pivotally mounted by posts on a tool box. The display board is pivoted between an upwardly inclined operative position and a horizontal collapsed position. The tool box cover may be readily opened and closed when the display board is in the collapsed position. When the display board is in the operative position, it will support and display a blueprint or shop drawing for ready reference by a machinist.

Abstract: The box-table combination includes a lower open topped toy box with central storage space, and an upper open bottomed drafting table releasably secured to the top of the box and nestable therein when disconnected therefrom for easy transportation. The drafting table has generally vertical side and rear walls and a closed top having an upwardly and rearwardly sloping (at about 40.degree.) front drafting portion and an about horizontal rear portion, all defining a central storage cavity within which staggered horizontal shelves are disposed. The rear ends of the shelves are slideably disposed in and readily removable from slats in the table rear wall. Access to the shelves is through a plurality of child-safe side folding hinged panel members in the table front portion. Access to the central storage space is through a drawer slidably received therein and extending out of the box, and thrugh the folding panels.

Abstract: A light table for use in tracing drawings, figures and the like includes a molded unitary housing structure forming an open top chamber with a peripheral support frame on which is mounted a transparent planar sheet or panel of glass or similar support material covering the majority of the open top with a tool tray disposed at one end of the housing for containing artists' or draftsmens' tools and instruments, and adjustable legs are positioned at the four corners of the housing and are adjustable to adjust the slope of the table and to define a right or left handed orientation of the table.

Abstract: A cabinet is disclosed which is generally rectangular and may have a plurality of drawers therein. A top section, however, may be lifted and rotated outwardly to form a drawing board which is angularly adjustable and includes sufficient knee room to permit an artist to comfortably sit at the drawing board. The drawing board is mounted on a U-shaped support disposed within the cabinet and is hingedly attached to the forward edge thereof. The support forms J-slots in opposed legs of the U. The cabinet frame supports outstanding walls received within the U which mount rollers adapted to ride in the J-slots. The drawing board portion of the top then with the attached U-shaped member is lifted upwardly and outwardly as the rollers travel along the J-slots to lock in an upright position for use. A slotted brace also is provided with a locknut connecting the rear portion of the board with the legs of the U so that the rear portion of the board may be elevated to provide the desired sloping surface.

Abstract: A supervisory desk comprises a top section with a desk surface, or the like, a stand section with at least one leg of adjustable length which supports the top section so that the height of the top section above the stand section can be adjusted. The leg(s) is/are inclined (e.g. at 45.degree.) to the vertical plane, whereby ergonomic conditions are obtained for an operator using the desk having regard to the height of the desk surface, the leg space below the top section and the view over the rear edge of the desk surface.

Abstract: A portable mini-desk comprising a body having a generally flat surface thereabout, a first surface connected to the body and capable of canting with respect to that body, and controls arranged about the body so as to maintain the first surface in at least one fixed position. A turntable is interposed between the first surface and the body. The turntable has a generally circular shape. The body has a generally planar base, a plurality of vertical walls extending from the base, an upper surface generally parallel to the base, and an inclined surface extending from the upper surface. The controller is made up of a first geared member connected to the first surface, a second geared member disposed adjacent to the first geared member, an arm connected to the second geared member, and a lever connected to the arm. A spring is incorporated into the body so as to properly bias the arm. A telephone holder is cantably positioned about the body.

Abstract: A combination voting booth/speaker's lectern which is disposable, yet reusable is disclosed. The voting booth/lectern includes an upper shelf member and a lower support member both preferably comprised of cardboard, or other commonly used, semi-rigid, lightweight and inexpensive material. The lower support member is foldable into three sections which are generally vertically oriented, the top portions of which are insertable into a series of slots on the lower side of the upper shelf member. The upper shelf member includes four foldable sections, one of which is positioned upon and engaged by the lower support section by means of the aforementioned slots. The remaining three sections of the upper shelf member may be folded upon one another in forming a speaker's lectern or may be extended to a generally vertical orientation so as to form a semi-enclosed area providing the privacy required when the present invention is used as a voting booth.

Abstract: The invention permits a draftsman or student to carry needed materials conveniently for work at various locations and it also can be used to enable such a person to work at one location without investing the money and the space for a bulky drafting table. There is provided a case which encloses the above-mentioned needed materials and also contains a lid-support mechanism which locks at various positions. One exterior surface of the case is a drawing surface, and the lid-support mechanism permits it to be retained, when in use, at a desired angle with respect to the horizontal.
