Abstract: A stringed instrument work station and hanging system 10 includes a low profile cabinet 12 configured with a slide-out drawer 14 that is shaped to support a guitar or other type of stringed instrument when repairing, adjusting, or otherwise working on the instrument. The drawer includes longitudinal walls or rails for spanning between the drawer end walls (46) for not only holding tools and spare parts for the stringed instruments, but also for supporting the body portion of the stringed instrument when the instrument is positioned on the opened drawer. Various neck supports (78) and (80) are utilized with the drawer (14) for supporting the neck of the stringed instrument when being serviced. The neck supports (78) and (80) can be positioned at various locations across the drawer (14).

Abstract: The present invention includes a mobile phone enclosure which provides a user access to the features of the mobile device within a protective enclosure further providing at least one appearance enhancing device. Such an enclosure may comprise a brush and/or comb and may provide at least one storage area for the appearance enhancing device. Such a protective enclosure may be for an electronic device having interactive controls and may comprise a protective shell substantially surrounding said electronic device when the electronic device is disposed in said shell, the electronic device being insertable in and removable from said shell by hand and having at least one opening in the shell substantially aligned with the interactive controls when the electronic device is disposed in the protective shell, and having at least one appearance enhancement device removabley disposed within the bounds of the shell.

Abstract: Illustrative embodiments of systems and methods for powering lighted shelves in refrigerator appliances are disclosed. In one embodiment, a refrigerator appliance may comprise a cabinet having a temperature-controlled compartment defined therein and a plurality of electrical connectors disposed at a plurality of shelf mounting positions within the temperature-controlled compartment. The refrigerator appliance may also comprise a plurality of adjustable shelves each carrying at least one light emitting diode (LED), where each of the plurality of adjustable shelves may be removably mounted in one of the plurality of shelf mounting positions such that the at least one LED is electrically coupled to one of the plurality of electrical connectors. The refrigerator appliance may further comprise a power supply circuit that is electrically coupled to the plurality of electrical connectors and that is configured to selectively supply power to only a subset of the plurality of electrical connectors.

Abstract: A controlled access anesthesia cart has at least one drawer or compartment for storing general-use anesthesia items, and at least one drawer or compartment for storing controlled substances, e.g., narcotics. A key card reader on the cart is sensitive to an authorization code to unlock the compartments in the cart for access. The anesthesiologist needs to enter a pass code for access to the controlled substances compartment(s). The compartments then remain unlocked so long as the anesthesiologist remains present. A sonic sensor, e.g., an ultrasonic rangefinder device, communicates with the computer of the cart, and when the anesthesiologist is outside a given beam volume in front of the cart, the cart automatically re-locks the compartments either immediately or after a predetermined short delay period.

Abstract: A hanging memorial for displaying pictures and ashes of the deceased, and storing keepsakes. The hanging memorial includes a frame and an urn; the urn being integrated into the frame. A lateral wall and a front panel of the frame define a storage volume in which keepsakes can be placed. Alternatively an internal storage box can define the storage volume. The frame further includes a frame insert that can be configured to display a physical painting or photograph, or configured to display digital pictures. The urn is removably attached or pivotally connected to the frame by an at least one bracket, such that the contents of the urn are readily accessible. The hanging memorial may further include a niche about which the at least one bracket is positioned and into which the urn is positioned. Alternative support mechanism may also be used in place of the at least one bracket.

The fixed drum may have a non-circular cross-section as it is rotated. The tumbling device may tumble laundry items received in the fixed drum as it slides along an inner circumferential surface of the fixed drum.

Abstract: A stand for use with a laptop or portable computing device, such as, but not limited to, a MacBook. The stand elevates a laptop or portable computing device up off a desk or table top, reducing neck strain in the user and creating a more comfortable work setting. An adjustable-height stem connects a base and platform. The base also may be used alone, and comprises means for support the bottom of a computer stand. The base also may comprise storage space or shelves.

Abstract: A refrigerator with rotating and segmented shelving has a cabinet with at least one round internal compartment, a shaft centered within the compartment, and segments connecting to the shaft. The invention may also provide a motor connected to the shaft for rotating it and the shelving. Preferably, the shaft has a square cross section that receives up to four segments in a common plane. The shaft uses connections that receive the segments. Alternatively, the shaft has a round cross section for up to six segments upon a common plane. Each segment has a narrow nose that fits into the connection upon the shaft and an opposite wide edge outwardly towards the cabinet. Alternatively the cabinet or a door is at least partially transparent. A user may arrange shelf segments at different planes, thus accommodating foods and beverages of varying heights.

Abstract: A safety cover for an electronic device has a tray with a floor, the floor having inner and outer surfaces, ribs on the inner surface, and side walls. The floor includes at least one recess and at least two spaced apart slots extending through the floor. A flexible elastic band extends over part of the outer surface of the tray floor which is between two slots. The band has two flaps, each extending through a slot into a recess and being adhered inside a recess to secure the elastic band. A cover plate covers the flaps inside the tray and provides a flat surface to engage the device. The elastic resiliently receives items to be held by the cover arrangement.

Abstract: A computer monitors a connected state of a cash drawer and the open/closed status of one or more trays by way of circuitry and a BIOS program code. The computer opens the respective trays of the cash drawer by way of the circuitry and the BIOS program code. Alert messaging or alarm functions can also be performed in accordance with the monitoring. Cash drawer security, management and user convenience are improved accordingly.

Abstract: An enclosure for a biometric sensor is described. The enclosure comprises a cabinet having a plurality of surfaces. The biometric sensor placed inside the cabinet on a holder fixed on a primary surface from amongst the plurality of the surfaces. A secondary surface from amongst the plurality of surfaces is opposite to the primary surface. The secondary surface is substantially transparent to electromagnetic rays emitted by the biometric sensor.

Abstract: A domestic appliance has an operator control apparatus with at least one operator control element, and has a door for closing a functional area of the domestic appliance on which at least one handle apparatus for opening and closing the door is arranged. For the purpose of ergonomic operator control, the operator control apparatus is arranged at least partially in the immediate vicinity of a holding region of the handle apparatus so that a user can operate the operator control apparatus with the same hand with which he is holding the handle apparatus for opening or closing the door. The rail has a lip that engages the rail catch and limits movement of the rail in a vertical direction, a rear engagement area that engages the rear lug in the installed position, and a front engagement area that engages the front lug in an installing position and in the installed position. Embodiments operate in context of a storage library having removable magazines that store data cartridges. For example, a floating, two-part latching system operates in either an operable state or an unlatched state. The latching system includes a setter and a latch, where the latch is configured to float on the setter and to be biased into a latched position. When the setter is in a first position, it permits the latch to float between at least a fully latched position and a fully unlatched position. When the setter is moved to a second position, it moves the latch into the fully unlatched position and restricts the latch from moving into the latched position.

The apparatus displays which of the one or more storage lockers is available and processes a selection of an available storage locker to generate an access message that includes a locker number, a randomly generated access code, and a duration of access indication based on a confirmed financial transaction. The apparatus also includes at least one solar energy collection unit configured to collect solar energy, and an energy storage unit configured to store the collected solar energy and supply power to the apparatus.

Abstract: Systems and associated methods for monitoring and/or controlling access to interior portions of consumer-operated kiosks and other enclosures are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a consumer-operated kiosk includes an enclosure having a door movable between a closed position that prevents access to the enclosure and an open position that permits access to the enclosure. In this embodiment, an identifier, such as an RFID transponder or tag, is mounted to one of the enclosure or the door, and a reader, such as an RFID reader, is mounted to the other of the enclosure or the door. When the door is closed, the reader detects the identifier. Conversely, when the door moves away form the closed position, the reader ceases to detect the identifier and can generate/send a signal indicating that the door is open.

Abstract: An appliance is provided including a noise reduction device to reduce noise generated within a main body of the appliance. The noise reduction device may include a sound absorbing plate having a plurality of sound absorbing holes and a resonance member, one side of which is open and having a hollow portion, so that noise generated by a drive of the appliance passes through the noise reduction device, in order to efficiently reduce noise in the appliance and achieve an increase of internal capacity, a decrease in weight, and a reduction in manufacturing costs for the appliance.

Abstract: A pipeline pig support rack apparatus includes a frame having a plurality of supports mounted thereon, each extending upwardly from the frame. Each pipeline pig support includes clamps that are comprised of first and second u-shaped members that are attached with a hinge. A bolted connection opposite the hinge is provided for holding the u-shaped members together in a closed position when securing a pipeline pig. Lifting eyes on the frame are provided for enabling the frame, its pig supports and any contained pipeline pigs to be lifted as a unit. A basket receptacle optionally is provided that receives the frame. The frame and basket receptacle are each independently liftable. The basket receptacle prevents spillage of hazardous materials that might be residing upon the pigs after they have been used to clean a particular pipeline.

Abstract: A dispensing system for traditional Chinese medicine comprising an independent medicine dispensing unit including a framework and an operating table. The framework includes: a back plate having semi-cylindrical inner and outer surfaces; and a plurality of horizontal arc shelves connected to the semi-cylindrical inner surface of the back plate. The operating table has a generally semi-circular horizontal plate member for the pharmacist to perform corresponding operations thereon. The shelves are designed such that, for the shelves with vertical distances from the plate member of the operating table being equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the inner edges of these shelves become gradually closer to the central axis of the back plate, as the respective heights of the shelves increase.

The upper components are adapted to be selectively positioned on the open top and depend into the upper component. A plurality of lower components is chosen from the class including doors and casters. A lateral opening is formed in the housing adjacent to the bottom.

Abstract: The components of the furniture system, in a vertical orientation, have a cabinet with a central opening in an upper section and a plurality of support panels stacked in a laterally oriented position within the central opening. The cabinet is adapted to be placed against a structure such as a wall. Engaging items include a television. The cabinet further has a horizontal orientation with a top opening and alternate configuration and function such as a bed or sofa. In this configuration the support panels are repositionable to span the entire horizontal top opening of the cabinet. The repositioning of such components is done by mechanisms such as hinges, rails and/or manually repositioning the components.

Abstract: An elongated spine extends vertically within a refrigerated cabinet, freezer cabinet, or doors and includes ductwork for the transmission of fluids within the spine as well as operating power and/or electrical control or data signals. The spine includes a mounting channel having inwardly extending edges. Modules mate with the spine for the physical mounting of the modules at any desired location within the continuously extending channel and are provided with a flange which fits within the spine and mounts the module in a cantilevered fashion to the refrigerator. Such construction facilitates the distribution of fluids, such as hot or cold air within the refrigerator, and the manufacturing of a refrigerator by providing a readily attached spine and allowing modular construction of a refrigerator with infinite adjustability for the user.

Abstract: A computer case coated with activated carbon is provided to absorb the suspended particulates in the air for purifying the air in the case and at the same time purifying the air in the room. The computer case coated with activated carbon includes a case housing. Inside the case housing a coating of activated carbon is applied. The coating of activated carbon purifies the air and guarantees a clean use environment of computer with better performance and longer service life of hardware and is thus suitable for the application in computer cases.

Abstract: Reinforcement devices and systems for holding a traffic control assembly in compression are provided. The traffic control assembly includes a traffic signal disconnect hanger and/or a traffic signal and a first span wire positioned above the traffic control assembly. In some embodiments, the reinforcement device includes an upper support device connected to the first span wire where the upper support device has a length that is greater than a width of the traffic control assembly and the upper support device is configured to spread the load of the traffic signal assembly to the first span wire. The reinforcement device includes a lower support device operably connected to the traffic signal, a first vertical support member, and a second vertical support member where the first and second vertical members are tensioned when the upper support device, the lower support device and the first and second vertical support members are connected together.

Abstract: A modular drawer safe possessing upper indentions and lower protrusions allowing multiple units in varying sizes to be secured together. The drawer safe uses biometric recognition for its primary locking control and a manual keyed back-up. A multicolored illumination ring situated around the fingerprint reader provides low-level light as a visual point of reference and changes to green light when an authorized fingerprint is scanned or red light if an unauthorized or misread fingerprint is scanned. The drawer opens under its own spring or pneumatically driven motive force. Supplemental illumination within the drawer compartment consist of multiple pairs of red low-level illumination and brighter white illumination. All electrical components are powered by line voltage with an integral battery backup. AC power can be daisy-chained between multiple units thus only requiring a single receptacle to provide power to all components.

Abstract: A pivot bin assembly configured to receive luggage and be positioned in the interior of an aircraft. The pivot bin assembly includes an upper housing that includes a strongback and first and second side panels, a bucket that cooperates with the upper housing to define a bin interior, a first pivot mechanism operatively associated, with the first side panel and the bucket, and a second pivot mechanism operatively associated, with the second side panel and the bucket. The first and second pivot mechanisms are axially aligned along and are rotatable about a pivot axis such that the bucket pivots about the pivot axis with respect to the upper housing between an open position and a closed position.

Abstract: An occupancy sensor may include a plurality of user-selectable mounting features that enable the sensor to be mounted to building structure in a variety of ways. The sensor may include: a nipple for engaging a connector associated with the building structure; one or more key hole slots for engaging fasteners associated with the building structure; and one or more flat side surfaces for engaging corresponding flat surfaces of a mounting plate associated with the building structure. A spring on the flat side surface may lock the sensor to the mounting plate. The nipple may be removable to allow the sensor to be flush mounted to the building structure. The sensor may also include a user-adjustable lens that enables a user to make discrete adjustments of the field of view of the sensor according to present levels. The upper drawer unit includes a slideable workstation and one or more primary drawers disposed beneath the workstation. In the closed position, the work panel covers and conceals at least a portion of the top surface of the workstation, and in the open position the work panel is perpendicular to the top surface of the workstation. The work panel is received in a rear slot of the workstation when it is in the open position. The workstation may include features such as a sink and a cook top. The housing may be received in a seat casing, console, or bench on the boat.
