Abstract: A handle mechanism for a portable computer having a base and a cover movably mounted to the base, includes a handle, two fixing assemblies, and a coded lock. The handle includes a crossbar, and two arms respectively protruding from opposite ends of the crossbar. A mortise hole is defined in one of the arms. The fixing assemblies are respectively configured for attaching the arms of the handle to the base. The coded lock is fixed to the base near one of the arms of the handle. The coded lock includes a tenon portion. The tenon portion is capable of extending into the mortise hole of the handle to lock the handle. The handle mechanism acts as both a handle and a lock for carrying and locking the portable computer.

Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a portable, wall mountable tool storage system and kit comprising a container formed with a substantially rigid base, two side walls, a front panel and a rear panel. Each of the panels is pivotally articulated to the base and each has a free end adapted for securing at a top side of the container. A plurality of various articles retaining elements is provided at least within the container. The tool storage system further comprises at least one carrying element for carrying the tool system at a substantially upright position, and at least one wall mounting arrangement for retaining the tool storage system at a substantially horizontal wall mounted position.

Abstract: A furnace, in particular for an electro thermal atomization device of an atom absorption spectrometer, has a heatable heat duct in which is mounted a trial platform. The trial platform is essentially basin-shaped with radially inward-turned rims, at least at its free ends. In order to make ongoing improvements in a furnace of the aforementioned type, so that the trial platform has an increased lifetime along with high reproducibility of measurements and simple operation as well as low cost, the trial platform features a geometric structure stabilization device which reduces the ratio of effective volume of the trial platform to the rim volume.

Abstract: An improved tool box adapted to be positioned onto a joist or beam. The tool box has a central passageway extending between and through its front and rear walls. At least two web cross members extend between the side walls of the central passageway. Each of the web cross members have a plurality of generally rectangular shaped cutouts positioned along a common longitudinal axis, each of the cutouts communicating with each other. Each cutout has a width that is greater than the width of that cutout located immediately above it. The cutouts form upper joist receiving raceways. A lower joist receiving raceway is formed by the first and second bottom edges of the web cross member and that portion of the side walls of the central passageway located below the bottom edges of the web cross member.

Abstract: A balance with a draft shield enclosing a weighing pan (33) has slidable walls (6, 7, 8) with slide handles (10, 110, 210) to open and close the weighing compartment (2). A connector body (22) serves to couple non-adjoining slidable walls (6, 7, 8) to each other. Besides for pushing the slidable walls open and closed, the slide handles (10, 110, 210) also serve to couple and uncouple the slidable walls, so that more than one wall can be moved simultaneously using only one hand, or a wall can be moved by pushing a handle on the opposite side. The slide handles are configured as pairs of handle elements that are attached either to adjoining walls or to a wall and an adjoining place on the connector body. In the coupled state, the pairs of handle elements are folded or swiveled into each other, working as a single handle, e.g., for two adjoining walls. In the uncoupled state, they move the walls individually.

The base includes a bottom wall (12), and a pair of side walls (14) extending from the bottom wall. A pair of posts (120) extends upwardly from front corners of the bottom wall. Each post defines a guiding groove (124) therein. The hood includes a top cover (22), a pair of side panels (24) extending from the top cover, and a pair of pivot mechanisms (28). Each pivot mechanism includes a pivot pin (286) movably received in the guiding groove of the corresponding post.

Abstract: A detachable carry handle assembly contains a first segment and a second segment that are telescopically interfitted with one another. Sliding of the respective segments relative to one another selectively increases or decreases the overall length of the carry handle assembly, which may be manually manipulated into a plurality of overall length configurations. A spring biased barrel lock assembly may be used to fix the carry handle assembly into a predetermined overall length. The carry handle assemblies may contain rotating handles that to rotate out to a position of maximum width that facilitates lifting operations. Collapse of the handles to a position of minimum width facilitates stowage of the carry handle assemblies in a minimum space.

Right and left floor portions extend between the bottom edges of the box side walls and the bottom edges of the lower passageway tier. The third width is greater than the second width, and the second width is greater than the first width. The various widths are adapted to fit over joists and beams of varying width.

Abstract: A portable artist's horse includes a pair of generally parallelepiped bench sections containing individual storage compartments which are hinged to provide a bench and pallet (or drawing board) support in an erected configuration and to allow folding to a compact travel configuration which can be easily transported by pulling or pushing. A pair of spaced-apart rollers provide mobility, and a pair of lifting handles, which are interconnected by latches, allow manipulation of the horse in transport condition. The rollers are received in pockets in the other bench section with the horse in its erected condition, and the lifting handles are integral portions of legs which stably support the bench in its erected configuration.

A user of a computer equipped with an accent panel of the present invention may be able to match the color of the front of his or her computer to his or her surroundings while still allowing access to a support member to allow easier transport of a computer.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided having, a set of small drawers that hold a specific type of medication and can be pulled and the contents emptied when needed. Medications are placed within the drawers and labeled. When it is time to ingest the medication, one simply pulls out a drawer and takes out its content. The present embodiment provides as step-like arrangement and hold multiples of 7 days of medication. The device can have holes on the back for hanging or magnets for securing to a metallic surface. Additionally, a smaller unit can be made transportable with the addition of a carrying strap.

A rest is provided in the groove of the cover to stop the handle's fall thereby preventing the handle from colliding directly with the cover or the chassis of the computer.

A baseplate is moveable between a storage position for controlled movement of the baseplate in the open area and an extended position adapted for building the unit from the connectable building components. The baseplate includes either a plurality of upwardly extending members, openings or other connectors for connecting the unit to the baseplate. Guide rails block upward movement of the baseplate and the closure when moved in the closed position blocks movement of the baseplate out of the structure. The system further includes a plurality of drawers having compartments positioned in the structure movable between a retracted position adapted for storing and transporting the connectable building components and an extended position for access to the connectable building component.

One or a plurality of laterally outwardly projecting handles for positioning the operating unit can be attached to the operating unit. The handle can be attached to the housing with little assembly effort and permits a user-friendly positioning of the housing. The handles can be profiled sections extending over at least a portion of the height or width of the lateral walls. The profiled sections are fastened on the housing in the area of the front edges formed by the front wall and the lateral wall. In the area of the front edges the profiled sections partially extend past the front wall and the lateral walls.

A plurality of doors, one for each compartment, are selectively movable between an open position in which the compartments can be accessed, and a closed position in which the doors block the openings into the compartments.

Abstract: A collapsible artist's water color palette comprising a plurality of rectangular trays non-fixedly attached to one another such that simple manipulation into a stacked, compact configuration for transport, or alternatively, a side-by-side, planer, configuration for mixing may be accomplished. In the stacked configuration, an upper tray serves as a lid for the tray below and, thus, prevents spillage of wet, runny paints and contamination of individual paint receptacles. A lid is provided to cover the uppermost tray when in the stacked configuration, and doubles as an additional working surface when in the planer configuration. Moreover, the subject invention provides a unitary structure so arranged with its integral components that paint receptacles and mixing surfaces may remain in an upright position during use and manipulation from one configuration to another, thus further reducing the possibility of paint spillage and contamination.

Abstract: A utility holder for storing and carrying a plurality of tools and the like. In the preferred embodiment, the utility holder includes a frame having a plurality of compartments. Removably stored within these compartments is a plurality of drawers for receiving the tools and other articles to be stored. A jacket substantially covers, and is removable from, the frame. This jacket is configured to form a cavity for placement upon the apex of a ladder or similar structure. The exterior surface of the jacket is mateable with each of the drawers. When the jacket is placed upon the apex of a ladder or similar structure, there is minimal danger that the jacket and the tools can fall to the ground. For further safety and convenience, a plurality of tool holders are attachable to the hanging device so that individual tools may be displayed and accessed.

Abstract: This is an improved container having slidable storage cases propelled by a leaf spring into an open position after pushing down on a front catch. The container comprises a front half, a rear half and a handle, each molded from plastic. The front half and the rear half of the container are ultrasonically bonded together rotatably securing the handle between them. The front and the rear half have six case slots. The front half case slots are defined by a central vertical divider extending from the top to the bottom of the front half and three rows of horizontal M-shaped plastic dividers. Each M-shaped divider is essentially a spring with a lip on it at the central point of the M-shaped divider. The lip can be pushed down and snaps back into place. The rear half is divided into six case slots by a central vertical divider extending from the top to the bottom of the rear half and six sets of guide rails. Extending into the rear half from the back of the container are six leaf springs, one for each case slot.

In stored position the mixer console extends downwardly between the sides to a position adjacent the amplifier, and a detachable cover is secured to the sides to extend over both the mixer console and amplifier. Parts of the mixer console and amplifier form at least portions of a forward cover of the completed carrying case.

A catch assembly consisting of a actuator (80) and contiguous rods (64) inside the housing retain the legs by the urging of the rods into a keeper (58) on each leg. When the actuator is manually depressed, the legs extend and when tilted open form a four leg stand. The legs are manually retracted and held in place by the arms interfacing with the keepers.

Abstract: A food service cabinet embodies a unique shelf support rail construction and mounting arrangement which provides for easy and quick removal of the shelf support rails for cleaning and/or adjustment, a unique construction of channel members employed in the cabinet as support posts and tray stops, for example, which construction coacts with catches on walls of the cabinet for providing quick and east removable attachment of the channel member to the wall, and a removable top unit for closing an open top of a cabinet enclosure, the top unit forming a continuation of the cabinet enclosure and having essentially full width hand grips integrally embodied in sheet metal side walls of the top unit.
