With Rigid Housing Wall Patents (Class 312/274)
  • Patent number: 11661014
Abstract: The invention involves a cargo carrier for vehicles that facilitates loading and unloading of items onto an enclosure; the cargo carrier may be automated and self-loading via actuators and a motorized mechanism that may be remotely controlled. The actuators may be configured to tilt the enclosure or a component thereof and one or more motors may be configured to deploy a deployable tray housed within the enclosure, which minimizes user loading or unloading labor. Typically, on a front end of the enclosure, one or more actuators may couple the enclosure to a portion of a vehicle support structure. The deployable tray may include a tiltable mechanism to further facilitate loading or unloading.

  • Patent number: 9355652
Abstract: Described are embodiments of an invention for a textured interface between a notch of a data storage cartridge and a retention tab of a storage cell. The textured surface reduces the contact surface between the retention tab and the notch of the data storage cartridge. The reduced contact surface between the retention tab and notch of the data storage cartridge reduces the amount of friction between the retention tab and the notch of the data storage cartridge. The data storage cartridge can thus be removed from the storage cell with less force than that required by the prior art having a generally smooth interface between the notch of the data storage cartridge and the retention tab of the storage cell.

A transparent cover member is pivotally mounted to the drawer guides to close the front portion of the crisper drawer in the storage disposition while allowing ready viewability of the contents thereof by the user. The cover member automatically moves between the closing disposition when the crisper drawer is in the storage arrangement to an uncovered disposition when the crisper drawer is brought forwardly to the access arrangement. The arrangement of the cover member is such as to effectively preclude retention of articles thereon, thereby avoiding impact damage to the door shelf by abutment with such articles upon closing of the door.

  • Patent number: 4662690
Abstract: A filing cabinet comprising a housing and a movable drawer therein wherein the drawer has sliding movement in a direction parallel to the bottom of the housing and pivotal movement around an axis extending between opposed side walls of the housing, parallel to the bottom of the housing and adjacent to the front of the housing and means for providing an opening in the top of the housing through which a portion of the drawer moves during the pivotal movement thereof so that the usable space within the drawer is substantially the same as the usable space in a sliding, non-pivotal drawer.

  • Patent number: 4490604
Abstract: In an arrangement of two keyboards or other lamellar input/output devices for a computer or telecommunications terminal, one keyboard is integral with a cabinet of the terminal and the other keyboard normally fits within a housing in an undersurface of the cabinet and is masked by the integral keyboard. To enable withdrawal of the keyboard housed within the housing for use, a rear part of the cabinet undersurface is configured to allow the cabinet to be tilted bodily backwards to allow access to the keyboard. This is then pulled from under the integral keyboard and the cabinet is returned to its stable position. The keyboard housed within the housing is returned to its stored position in a converse manner.

  • Patent number: 4375306
Abstract: An elongated plywood panel serves as a base member for storage cabinets mounted onto the forward or inner end of the base member. The rearward or outer end portion of such base member functions as a table. A track structure is provided below the base member and supports the unit for sliding movement between a stowed position within the bed space of a pickup or the like and an extended or use position in which the table projects rearwardly from the bed space of the vehicle. The cabinets may include a pair of side cabinets which are hinge connected to a central cabinet, for movement between a storage position in which the side cabinets are in juxta-position with each other and the central cabinet and are positioned over the table, and a use position in which the side cabinets extend laterally outwardly, in a wing fashion, from the opposite sides of the table and from the access opening for the central cabinet.

  • Patent number: 4095439
Abstract: A movable ice receptacle for use in a refrigeration apparatus having a refrigerated cabinet defining a space within which the receptacle is normally disposed. The refrigerated space is selectively closed by a movable closure. The receptacle is mounted for selective disposition in a rearward ice storage position and a forward ice access position. The mounting of the receptacle is such that, when the closure is moved to an open position, the receptacle is correspondingly repositioned forwardly from the storage position to the access position. For improved dispensing of the ice in the receptacle, a rapid deceleration is effected at the forward end of the receptacle movement effectively shifting the ice in the receptacle to a forward, more readily accessible portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 3966408
Abstract: A unit for sterilizing instruments in a chemical germicide solution having a container for holding the solution and a cover for closing the container. A tray having slots formed in the bottom thereof receives the instruments. A support for the tray is attached between the cover and the bottom of the container and moves the tray and instruments from a first position of immersion in the solution to a second position above the solution as the cover is pivoted upwardly from the container. The slots in the tray allow the solution to drain from the tray and the instruments.
