Abstract: A swivel joint for a lid for the detachable application of the lid to a cabinet, having a lever mechanism which is under spring biasing, the lever mechanism permitting a weight-balanced raising of the lid and, upon raising, pulling the pivot pin of the joint in positive fashion forward so that the rear upper edge of the lid does not extend beyond the cabinet, as seen in the perpendicular direction.

Abstract: A protective cover for keyboard machines consisting of a transparent hood affixable to the machine housing and open at one side to admit the operator's hand, including a panel generally parallel to the keyboard face and spaced apart therefrom by a distance sufficient to allow normal hand and finger movements by the operator, but too close to permit any appreciable whole-hand movements normally to the keyboard whereby the operator cannot strike the keyboard buttons with excessive force which can damage the machine. The hood prevents access of spilled liquids, paper clips, coins, bits of metal or the like to the keyboard. Such foreign matter may find its way to the interior of the machine through slots and other openings of the keyboard, and cause malfunctioning thereof.

Abstract: The housing is intended for use with data entry equipment having first manual control elements for routine operation and second manual control elements not required for routine operation and comprises a baseplate and a cover device covering the baseplate while leaving the first manual control elements exposed. The cover device comprises a first covering element, which is adapted to be opened to expose the entire interior of the housing, and a second covering element, which normally covers the second manual control elements and is adapted to be opened independently of the first covering element to expose the second manual control elements.

Abstract: An improved wall mounted enclosure device for a sanitary brush having a telescopically extensible handle and a rigid head at one end with its bristle face inclined with respect to the axis of said handle. A flange surrounds a portion of the handle adjoining said head adapted to suspend said brush from a bracket on the door of said enclosure device with respect to the pivotal mountings of the door thereof so as to maintain said door in closed position over said sanitary brush when not in use and to expose the brush for use. Said improved device including a housing which encloses a rear housing and is mounted to a wall surface.

Abstract: A housing for a magnetic disk memory is assembled of a lower part and cup-shaped upper part which is seated on the rim of the lower part. A continuous angular bracket is secured to the inner surface of the lower arm and overlaps vertically the rim of the latter. An elastic sleeve has a mounting groove engaging the inwardly projecting arm of the bracket, and another mounting groove engaging a plate for supporting a rotary drive for the disks and a magnetic head assembly. The elastic sleeve further includes a flexible lip which abuts against a continuous shoulder on the inner surface of the upper housing part to seal the interior of the housing against outer atmosphere.

Abstract: The combination of a circular container and cover having their rim and flange, respectively, formed to provide multiple, equally spaced locking means. The container and cover have a plurality of spaced notches and handles, respectively, formed on their outer side walls, said notches and handles providing means for handling and manipulating the container and cover for relative rotational movement therebetween to effectuate said locking means.

Abstract: A lock structure especially useful for locking a cabinet cover to a bottom plate makes it possible to integrate and separate the cabinet cover and the bottom plate quite easily, and also secures the cabinet cover and the bottom plate quite tightly to prevent any play between the two.

Abstract: A vertical breadbox for storing stacked slices of unwrapped bread, said breadbox having a top section that meshes into a bottom section, the bottom section comprising a hollow body having upstanding side walls and the top sealingly engaging a chamfered edge of each of the side walls to keep air out and the bread fresh.

Abstract: A self-cleaning bulk food display bin is disclosed which is adapted to be mounted in an opening in a wall. The bin includes a tray with a downwardly and forwardly inclined floor having a debris removal opening located adjacent to a front peripheral wall. A sneeze shield is located above and over the tray to define therebetween a vertical front bun removal opening and a rear bun loading opening. A bottom downwardly and rearwardly disposed panel conveys debris passing through the debris removal opening rearwardly behind the wall.

Abstract: Drying tower installation having a folding chamber built up of a number of individual interconnected sections formed by similarly shaped bearing members provided with an elastic outer covering. The top bearing member of an upper section has a means for holding the chamber on a support. Provision is also made for a chamber raising means, comprising at least three wire ropes which with one of their ends fixed on the bottom bearing member of the lower section, and with the other ends thereof linked to a rope reeling mechanism.

Abstract: An open bottomed sewing machine cover is tapered and slabbed at one end and provided with novel and improved latch means for use with platform beds, bed frames or bottom bed covers that are indented on the bottom at the ends to accept the latches which of comprises latch levers suspended on leaf springs adjacent the bottom edges of the open bottom provided with inward facing paddles at their lower extremities adapted to be pulled outwardly while the case is lowered over the machine to rest on the table top or over the major portion of a similar case cover for stacking and nesting and after the cover is lowered over a machine as the latch lever is released, the paddles move inward into indents provided adjacent the bottom of the machine to extend beneath the machine to support the machine for carrying.

Abstract: A plate showcase device for supporting a plate or the like in a display position having a protective cover with a lid over a base portion. The plate is supported within the cover and on the base portion in an almost vertical position by a stud projecting from the rear wall of the protective cover and a slot located in the upper surface of the base portion. In a second preferred embodiment, a plate showcase device has an integral cover and base portion made of a single sheet of material providing a relatively flat showcase capable of being wall hung or self supporting.

Abstract: A tool box includes a base and a plurality of nested pyramidal tool racks concentrically and rotatably mounted on a rigid vertical rod extending perpendicularly from the base. Each of the pyramidal tool racks except the innermost core has a removable side. Each removable side can be removed, exposing the sides of another smaller pyramidal tool rack nested within the pyramidal tool rack from which that side is removed. A variety of clips are attached to the outer surfaces of the respective pyramidal tool racks for supporting various types of tools. An outer cover shell having a top handle associated therewith is positioned over the outer pyramidal tool rack and is lockable to the top of the vertical rod.

Abstract: A tray for holding articles is attached to a collapsible column such that the tray may be suspended such as from a ceiling or other surface. The column may be provided with a plurality of detent positions for suspending the tray at various heights above the floor. The tray may be raised to an out-of-the-way position by fully collapsing the column. A cover may be provided to cover the tray when the column is fully collapsed. A positive-acting latch is conveniently operated from the underside of the tray to lower the tray when desired.

Abstract: A lighted cassette holder for displaying and protecting cassettes is disclosed. The cassette holder features a plurality of cassette holding tracks which are diagonally convergent. The tracks are held by a support member which is attached to a base and a top plate. Electrical lighting is provided adjacent the top plate. Movable dust shields are mounted between the base and top plate to protect the cassettes from dust accumulation.

The invention can include suitable removable decorations, such as names, dates and the like on the cake container.

Abstract: In a case structure comprising a base member and a detachable cover having a pair of side walls adapted to be hingedly and interlockingly connected to the base member, the provision of a combined hinge and locking device comprising an elongated connecting member including an inwardly extending hook-shaped projection and an elongated, flexible and bendable, lengthwise extending hinge member intermediate the side walls and the connecting member. The base member includes a pair of lengthwise extending grooves for engagement with the hook-shaped projections of the cover and a pair of end walls.

Abstract: A circular cake tray and cover contains a cake mounted on a plate. The cake is prevented from sliding within the container by means of matching surface features on the tray and on the cake plate which mutually nest to lock the plate into place on top of the tray. The depth of the surface features is sufficient to prevent movement of the plate with respect to the tray even when the tray is tilted to a substantial angle, thereby reducing the likelihood that the cake plate would slide when the container is tilted and damage the cake by impact with the cover. The tray and cover are removably fastened together with a continuous outer flange on the circumference of the cover resiliently latched beneath a plurality of horizontal flanges which are disposed along the edge of the tray in such a manner that the cover may be easily latched or removed from the tray without regard to the rotational orientation of the cover with respect to the tray.

Abstract: A theft-proof collapsible enclosure for a table-top working area includes a plurality of panels disposed in closed condition of the enclosure, in separate mutually intersecting planes above the table-top working area, the plurality of panels forming a top wall, a front wall and two side walls of the enclosure in the closed condition thereof, the panels of at least the top wall and the front wall being pivotable about respective substantially horizontal axes at the mutual intersections thereof so as to collapse the enclosure.

Abstract: A convertible tray cabinet that can be used as a salesman's case having a base and a lid for carrying a nested stack of jewelry trays, and which cabinet can then be converted to a jewelry case with sliding trays therein by removing the lid, discarding the base, placing the lid on its side and sliding said trays into said lid on a plurality of spaced-apart ribs on the inside surfaces of opposed sidewalls of said lid. The ribs are vertical when the lid is used as a salesman's case and are horizontal when the lid is placed on its side and used as a jewelry case.

Abstract: A display case and a merchandise display rack for supporting a plurality of such display cases around its circumference in a radial relationship. The merchandise display rack includes a plurality of relatively movable support members provided with cooperating spindles which are adapted to support the display cases and adapted to be simultaneously locked against displacement by a common locking mechanism to prevent unauthorized removal of the display cases. The display cases are trapezoidal in shape so that they can be received around the circumference of the display rack in radial relationship and each display case includes spaced aligned bores for receiving the spindles of the merchandise display rack. The display cases may be used to support a wristwatch therein and include a one piece base for supporting the wristwatch and a transparent cover including means for engaging the base.

Abstract: A compound vessel is provided which has many decorative and functional applications. The compound vessel is formed of a transparent material and has a spheroidal main body. The main body is comprised of spheroidal inner and outer walls with an annular space defined therebetween. The annular space constitutes an outer vessel of the compound vessel and the space contained by the inner wall constitutes an inner vessel of the compound vessel. The outer and inner walls join at one extremity of the spheroidal main body of the compound vessel to close the outer vessel and form the periphery of a generally circular mouth opening into the inner vessel, the inner vessel being otherwise closed. The outer wall terminates at an opposite extremity of the spheroidal main body of the compound vessel to form the periphery of a generally circular mouth opening into the outer vessel, the outer vessel being otherwise closed.

Abstract: The portable safe includes a base containing means for securing the safe to a support surface and a cover for the base to protect the securing means and valuables therein. A lock is provided to lock the cover to the base. The securing means, in one embodiment, is a suction cup on the base which is selectively operated, to produce stretching and a strong suction grip in the cup, by a lever located in the base. An anti-slip lining can be provided on the base around the suction cup to prevent the safe from being slid off of the support surface.

Abstract: A terminal housing has top and bottom walls shaped as inverted pans, which support between them a forwardly-arched arrangement of terminal block panels providing a rear cable-connection space and a front service-connection face. A peripherally-continuous side-wall enclosure includes two doors which are hinged adjacent the rear of the panel arch and extend forward and across into overlapping relation at the front. A cap or cover having a depending peripheral flange is supported above the top wall by springs in a normally raised position in which it clears the doors and allows them to swing open. A manual actuating lever swings forward below the bottom wall and actuates linkage to move the cap downward to a closed position in which its peripheral flange overlaps the top edges of the doors to secure them closed. A latch finger on the actuating lever engages the edges of the doors to secure them closed at the bottom. The lever is padlocked in closed position.

Abstract: A compact refrigerator cabinet has a top storage container removably retained on its upper wall by means of a U-shaped top trim frame which extends along the front and side edges of the cabinet providing opposed trackways which normally retain a top panel. Flange means are provided on the underside of the container base which are slidably received in the trackways to provide a composite structure. The container has a generally half-round configuration including a concavo-convex top wall extending through a predetermined obtuse angle to define a front access opening. The base wall has a transverse shoulder formed by a notched portion extending inwardly from its front edge and a closure member pivotally supported adjacent the shoulder whereby the closure may be pivoted downwardly from an upstanding overcenter position closing the access opening to a horizontal position substantially flush with the cabinet base wall.

Abstract: A portable humidifier having readily separable water container and decorative case components, where the container is caster supported for easy mobility and where the case has side walls defining an open bottom interior larger than the container suited to fit vertically over the container thereby virtually hiding same and then be removably supported in place thereon, optionally even with no mechanism latch connection thereto, and humidifying mechanism supported by the case operable to vaporize container water for discharge to the ambient atmosphere.

Abstract: A frusto-conical protective cover for a wedding cake or other articles. The cover is divided into at least two identical, upwardly convergent sections in the vertical direction, the cover sections being positionable in face-to-face relation to form the cover, and being positionable in nested relation when the cover is not in use. The cover includes integral interlocking means on the cover sections for interlocking same with the cover sections in either their face-to-face relation, or their nested relation. The interlocking means comprises channels interlockable with snap fits and formed in outwardly extending, upwardly convergent flanges extending outwardly from the upwardly convergent edges of the cover sections. The cover sections are provided at their lower ends with outwardly extending base flanges which form an annular flange to stabilize the cover when the cover sections are in their face-to-face relation.

Abstract: A container for perishable articles or substances includes a replaceable closure member capable of forming an airtight seal with a body portion of the container. An evacuation valve is provided on the closure member or another accessible part of the container allowing substantially complete evacuation of air trapped therein after closing the container. Means is also provided to relieve the vacuum to facilitate reopening of the container. The invention is applicable to household containers for foodstuffs as well as industrial containers for chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other materials requiring an air-free environment.

Abstract: A dispenser for strip material comprising a receptacle having an arcuate well for a reservoir roll of strip material, a cover overlying said receptacle for receiving a feed roll of strip material. A base is secured to said receptacle defining a compartment for receiving strips of material torn from said feed roll for future use thereof. The base has upwardly extending flanges and a partition for removably clampingly engaging said receptacle while defining a compartment for receiving the strips of material.
