Abstract: An energy dissipative element (24) protects hard disk drives (22, 72, 92) from shocks and vibrations. A closed elastic envelope (48) houses a body of open cell foam (54), a volume of viscous liquid (56), and a compressible gas (64). Under compression or expansion of the foam (54), viscous liquid (56) flows through cell orifices and thereby dissipates energy resulting from external force applied against the elastic wall (48). The energy dissipative elements (24) are applied between a disk drive housing (22) and an outer case (26) to create a ruggedized portable disk drive module (20).

Abstract: A drawer locking structure including a cabinet body, a drawer disposed inside the cabinet body and a lock device. The lock device includes a shift body, a stopper body and a resilient body. The shift body has a driving section and a force application section. The shift body is pivotally connected with the front board of the drawer. The stopper body is disposed on outer side of the drawer. The resilient body includes a first connecting section and an engaging section. Via the first connecting section, the resilient body is disposed on inner side of the cabinet body corresponding to the stopper body. When the drawer is positioned in the cabinet body, the engaging section is engaged with the stopper body, whereby the drawer is prevented from slipping outward due to inclination or movement of the cabinet body. When it is desired to draw out the drawer, a pulling force can be applied to the force application section. At this time, the driving section is driven to press down and deform the resilient body.

When released the latch returns to the biased position. The latch may also disengage the spring so as to be fully disabled and allow the door or drawer to be opened freely.

Abstract: A latch handle for doors and drawers for latching construction elements such as windows and doors. The latch handle may be located on the upper front edge portion of a drawer or the midportion of a door and may be manually opened by reaching under the front edge portion or trim member of the handle and pressing upwards on an actuator bar located inside the frame of the handle. The handle provides an aesthetic advantage in that the latch mechanism is concealed behind the front panel of the drawer or behind the door. The latching mechanism is made up of an actuator bar, a connecting link, and a hook. The hook is configured to engage with a keeper. At least one spring is fixedly attached to the frame for urging the actuator downwards and for carrying the hook into a reliable and secure engagement with the actuator.

The sled housing mechanism includes a latching means that secures the sled in position when it is inserted into a modular tray for computer components. A release trigger retracts the latch when the trigger is compressed so that the sled can be removed from the tray. The natural elasticity of the latching means returns the latching means to the locking position when the applied pressure on the release trigger is removed.

Abstract: A mounting assembly (1) for receiving an electronic device (100) includes a bracket (50) and a fastener (10) The fastener includes a retaining member (30), and a sliding member (20). A handle (45) is formed in the retaining member, and is movable relative to the retaining member. A pair of protrusions (47) each having an inner inclined plane (46) is formed in the handle. The sliding member has two opposite engaging portions (21, 28) and two central resiliently deformable spring connecting portions (24, 26). The spring connecting portions are deformably compressible, for allowing the engaging portions to engage with a computer enclosure. One of the spring connecting portions (24) has a pair of outer inclined planes (27) for abutting the corresponding inner inclined planes of the handle. Thus pushing the handle causes the engaging portions to engage with the computer enclosure.
