Abstract: A data storage library system includes a first data storage library and a second data storage library, and at least one pass-through mechanism coupling the first data storage library to the second data storage library, wherein the at least one pass-through mechanism is configured to enable data storage cartridges to be transported between the first data storage library and the second data storage library. The environmental conditions within the first data storage library are controllable to maintain operational conditions conducive to at least one of reading and writing of data on a plurality of data storage cartridges. The environmental conditions within the second data storage library are controllable so as to gradually transition the environmental conditions between ambient environmental conditions and operational conditions within the first data storage library. Associated methods for transporting components between the first and second data storage libraries are disclosed.

Abstract: A conveying block 20 for conveying recording mediums between slots 15 and a drive block 16 is provided with a recording medium delivery block 50 for delivering the recording mediums to and from the slots 15 or the drive block 16, an extendable and retractable rail portion for moving the recording medium delivery block to a desired slot, and a control block 17 for controlling extension and retraction operation of the rail portion 31. The control block 17 determines whether the slots 15 are provided in an expansion area provided in an extending direction of the rail portion 31, and when the slots 15 are provided in the expansion area, the rail portion 31 is extended so that the recording medium delivery block 50 is moved to the desired slot in the expansion area. The recording mediums are efficiently stored for changer operation.

Abstract: A combination comprises a first rack (314A), a second rack (314B) and a mover (218). The second rack (314B) is positioned substantially adjacent to the first rack (314A). The mover (218) includes a first rack gear (254), a second rack gear (256) and a differential adjuster (258). The first rack gear (254) moves along and between the first rack (314A) and the second rack (314B). The second rack gear (256) moves along and between the first rack (314A) and the second rack (314B). The differential adjuster (258) enables the first rack gear (254) and the second rack gear (256) to selectively rotate independently of one another. The first rack (314A) can be spaced apart from the second rack (314B) by a rack joint gap (368). While one of the rack gears (254, 256) is positioned adjacent to the rack joint gap (368), the first rack gear (254) and the second rack gear (256) can rotate independently of one another.

Abstract: The present invention involves an LCD video module assembly which is mounted on the wall at mass market stores to display video content preloaded onto the unit memory. New video content is loaded onto an SD card and sent periodically to stores to insert into an SD card slot to overwrite the old content with new content which is retained even if the SD card is removed from the slot. The memory and the SD cards are encrypted with a security cod that can only play and transfer information with that specific code.

Abstract: A lighted decorative cremation urn memorial constructed of rigid interlocking paneled materials used to house and display cremation urns and the personal effects of the decedent. A multi-chambered design allows for chamber areas to be aesthetically enhanced with the addition of cut stone and fabric inserts while outfitting other chambers with electronic imaging capability such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) picture screen with integrated functions and remote control. A user can utilize chamber areas to simultaneously display cremation urn(s), personal effects, and present electronic media. Certain chambers contain lighting systems, such as light emitting diode (LED) or other, where cremation urns and personal effects can be better accentuated. Added personalization includes the ability to engrave surfaces and affix engraved panels or emblems to suit the user. Thus the family or loved ones of a decedent may be provided with multiple options.

A sheet having a plurality of removable attachable polymer members each having coating indicia thereon is located on the compact disc case for easy removal and attaching to compact disc cases. The method includes selecting a compact disc replica and printing instructions for organizing a plurality of compact discs thereon and selecting a compact disc case and removably attaching a compact disc replica therein along with a selected set of cling polymer members having coated indicia thereon.

Object of the invention is to provide a container (1) for optical disks (25) in which many disks (25) may be stored within a comparatively small space. According to the invention the container (1) comprises a slidable tray (5), guiding means (10) for guiding said tray (5), a cover plate (6) and a bottom plate (2), wherein the thickness of said tray (5) substantially equals the sum of thicknesses of said cover plate (6) and said bottom plate (2).

Abstract: An easily installed inter-row transfer unit is disclosed employing a movable cartridge bin assembly suspended via linkage from a pair of bearing blocks, wherein the resulting bin assembly carriage travels horizontally along a support housing extending between front-to-back arrangements of rows of library systems, to enable expansion of the library systems into very large mass storage systems. The pair of bearing blocks of the bin assembly carriage are spread or closed to respectively raise or lower the bin assembly from or into a respective library system. Thus, vertical as well as horizontal motions of the bearing blocks are controlled by a motor/cable drum drive device secured to the support housing. In a preferred embodiment, a trapdoor mechanism and a cooperating roller support mechanism are used to enable reversing the direction of horizontal translation of the bin assembly carriage with a single motor/cable drum drive device. Various other embodiments and modifications are illustrated.

Abstract: A device for holding and displaying compact disks (CD's) on a wall or other vertical face in a manner whereby the front covers of the CD's are constantly in view, and which simultaneously create a decorative montage on the wall. The device consists essentially of one or more straight rails of similar length which are capable of receiving and supporting the bottom edge of the CD cases; are positioned horizontally on the wall; are parallel to each other; and are separated vertically from each other by a distance sufficient to insert the tip of a finger to extract a CD from a rail. Each rail has a front wall, a bottom wall, and a back wall, which in combination forms a channel, and which flexibly grips a CD case causing the top of the case to touch the wall. The device further includes on each rail an outwardly protruding spring lip which guides the CD's into position as they are being inserted into the rail cavity.
