Abstract: The present invention relates to a wiper apparatus in which it is easy to replace a wiper blade without this leading to any erroneous operation. When a wiper operation has been stopped by a wiper driving apparatus 31, the wiper driving apparatus causes the wiper arms to first move to a housing position and then stops the wiper arms. When wiper blades are to be replaced, an IG switch 33 is turned off during a wiper operation. If the IG switch 33 is turned off while the wiper arms are within a first stopping range, then the wiper arms are stopped at that position and the blades are replaced. If the wiper arms are stopped outside the first stopping range, then they are first moved to a bottom inverted position or a housing position and are then stopped.

Abstract: A method for the activation of a windscreen wiper motor is disclosed, in which the motor is connected to a wiper blade by a drive shaft, which moves the wiper blade between two reversal points of a wiping field in differing movement direction, where the rotation speed and direction of the motor, or the speed of the wiper blade, is detected by a sensor device and is supplied to a control device as an input value. The motor, before reaching the respective reversal point, is switched off, whereupon the drive shaft continues to rotate further by a castor angle up to a standstill, and the wiper blade moves further by a trailing distance. The actual speed of the wiper blade is compared at the switch-off time with a nominal speed, and the motor is operated further for a period of time when the comparison results in a difference in values.

Abstract: A system for measuring current in an H-Bridge motor drive circuit and using that current to determine the output of a device powered by the motor. A particular embodiment is disclosed for a motor-driven fluid pump. Motor current is measured at predetermined pump pressures and flow rates to create calibration tables relating motor current to pump pressure. Once calibrated, the system determines pump pressure based on motor current by referring to the calibration tables. In an embodiment, the pump is driven to achieve a predetermined fluid dispense profile. The system monitors pump pressure by measuring motor current and determines if the dispense profile is being achieved and sets alarms if predetermined thresholds are not maintained. The system also detects pump wear based on the current measurements and issues warnings to the user in such conditions.

  • Patent number: 7504798
Abstract: A controller for controlling a wiper unit including a wiper and an intermittent wipe cycle setting device for setting an intermittent wipe cycle of the wiper. The cycle setting device is set at a plurality of positions respectively corresponding to different intermittent wipe cycles. Further, the cycle setting device has a resistance value, which changes in accordance with each of the positions, and generates an output signal, which is in accordance with the change in the resistance value. The controller computes position information of the intermittent wipe cycle setting device from the output signal by using a learned value. The computer adjusts the learned value in accordance with the computation result of the position information to correct the position information. Accordingly, resistance value variances of the intermittent wipe cycle setting device are automatically corrected.
