Mechanically Vibrating Device As Reference Device (e.g., Tuning Fork) Patents (Class 318/451)
  • Patent number: 11377898
Abstract: A vehicle door opening/closing apparatus includes: an electrode provided near a vehicle door, which is opened and closed by driving of an actuator; a detection unit configured to separately detect presence or absence of an opening/closing operation of requesting opening/closing of the vehicle door by a user and presence or absence of a proximity state where a person exists in proximity of the vehicle door based on variation in an electrostatic capacity in the electrode; and a controller configured to drive the actuator when the opening/closing operation is detected by the detection unit even when an opening/closing request of the vehicle door from a device other than the detection unit is recognized and not to drive the actuator when the detection unit detects the proximity state.

  • Patent number: 8606376
Abstract: A method of actuating a system comprising a movable component and an actuator configured to move the movable component comprises providing a control signal representative of a desired motion of the movable component. The control signal is supplied to one or more resonators. Each of the one or more resonators has a mode of oscillation representative of at least one elastic mode of oscillation of the system. The control signal is modified by subtracting from the control signal a signal representative of a response of the one or more resonators to the control signal. The actuator is operated in accordance with the modified control signal. Thus, undesirable elastic oscillations of the system which might occur if the system were operated with the original control system can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 8098037
Abstract: A vehicle door opening-closing apparatus is provided, which includes a vibration detector and a controller. The controller acquires an envelope formed by connecting crests or troughs of a waveform of vibration detected by the vibration detection sensor. The controller determines whether or not a shape of the envelope meets a condition. A vehicle door is controlled based on a result of determination by the controller.

  • Patent number: 7919945
Abstract: The present invention relates to synchronized vibration devices that can provide haptic feedback to a user. A wide variety of actuator types may be employed to provide synchronized vibration, including linear actuators, rotary actuators, rotating eccentric mass actuators, and rocking mass actuators. A controller may send signals to one or more driver circuits for directing operation of the actuators. The controller may provide direction and amplitude control, vibration control, and frequency control to direct the haptic experience. Parameters such as frequency, phase, amplitude, duration, and direction can be programmed or input as different patterns suitable for use in gaming, virtual reality and real-world situations.

  • Patent number: 7764038
Abstract: Certain exemplary embodiments comprise a method that can comprise, via a device that originates sub-harmonic vibrations, applying a vibration treatment, to a rotor of an electric motor for a predetermined time period. The rotor can be thermally sensitive. The vibration treatment can be adapted to reduce internal stresses in the rotor, thereby reducing a vibration level of the rotor.
