  • Patent number: 8552792
Abstract: A switch circuit and an electronic device using the same include a power switch transistor, a controlling circuit, a regulated capacitor, and a capacitor. The power switch transistor is connected between an input and an output of the switch circuit. An output of the controlling circuit is connected to a controlling electrode of the power switch transistor and outputs pulse width modulation (PWM) signals to turn the power switch transistor on and off. The regulated capacitor is connected between an output of the switch circuit and ground. The capacitor is connected between an output of the controlling circuit and ground for increasing an inclination of a rising edge and a falling edge of PWM signals to slow down the speed of switching the power switch transistor on and off, thereby making the regulated capacitor charge slowly and the output voltage of the switch circuit stable.

  • Patent number: 6704826
Abstract: A digital isolation circuit comprises a plurality of CMOS transistors. The transistors may be connected together to form either a logic NAND gate or a logic NOR gate, but the isolation circuits preferably are not used to provide the NAND or NOR logic functions. The isolation circuit isolates one input data signal from an output signal in response to a control input signal. If the control signal is driven to one state (e.g., logic 1), the isolation circuit can be made to function as an inverter when no isolation is needed. In the opposite logic state, the control signal causes the isolation circuit to isolate the input data signal from the output signal.

  • Patent number: 5781058
Abstract: A totem pole driver with cross conductive protection and default low impedance state output employs a totem pole output formed by top and bottom output transistors. A first circuit path switches the bottom output transistor on or off in response to a switching signal. A second circuit path, slower than the first circuit path, switches the top output transistor on in response to the switching signal after the bottom output transistor is switched off. A third circuit path switches the top output transistor off in response to a sync signal known to lead the switching signal. An emergency voltage supply is made available to hold the bottom output transistor on and the top output transistor off if the regulated circuit voltage is lost.

  • Patent number: 5719519
Abstract: A phase current reconstruction circuit (10) senses and reconstructs a phase current in a phase bridges (12A). An amplifier (32) in a phase current reconstruction element (22) amplifies a voltage signal across a sensing resistor (18). The amplified voltage signal is transmitted to a sample and hold circuit (34), which reconstructs the phase current in the phase bridge (12A). An over-current comparator (36) compares the amplified voltage signal with a predetermined reference voltage to detect an over-current in the phase bridge(12A). If the over-current in the phase bridge (12A) is detected, an over-current latch (38) interrupts the pulse width modulation signal from a microcontroller (26) to a power switch (16A) in the phase bridge (12A), thereby switching off and protecting the power switch (16A) from damage that may be caused by the over-current.

  • Patent number: 5424671
Abstract: A power output stage has a Darlington-pair circuit (11, 12) for switching an inductive load, especially the ignition coil of an internalcombustion engine. In order to predetermine the operating mode of the power output stage, a switch (24) is provided which bridges the base-emitter junction of the Darlington-pair circuit (11, 12), is closed in the event of a quick disconnection of the output stage, and is opened in the event of a voltage-limited disconnection of the output stage. A voltage divider, which consists of at least two resistors (16, 18) and bridges the switching junction of the Darlington-pair circuit (11, 12), is connected by means of its pick-off to the junction point between the switch (24) and the base of the Darlington-pair circuit (11, 12), the switch (24) being connected in parallel with a part (18) of the voltage divider.
