  • Patent number: 8994323
Abstract: A charging circuit includes a power path control unit which switches a first switch connected between a system connection terminal and a battery connection terminal on while not charging, and switches the first switch on and a second switch connected between an external power supply input terminal and the system connection terminal on while charging so as to supply power to a system and charge a battery. A voltage difference between the external power supply input terminal and the battery connection terminal is detected, a current flowing between the external power supply input terminal and the system connection terminal is detected, and it is determined that an external power supply is disconnected based on the detection results of the voltage differences and the current.

  • Patent number: 8352384
Abstract: Circuits that solve stochastic problems and techniques for operating them. These natively stochastic circuits may produce samples from probability distributions of interest for particular stochastic problems, and may be combined together in any suitable way to yield potential solutions to stochastic problems. In some implementations, the stochastic circuits may generate samples from conditional probability distributions conditioned on input data provided to the stochastic circuits. The circuits may be constructed from multiple interconnected stochastic subcircuits such that a circuit may produce a sample from a joint probability distribution, or from a marginal distribution of a joint distribution. These circuits may be used to implement stochastic sampling algorithms to solve stochastic processes, and may include stochastic subcircuits that operate concurrently.

  • Publication number: 20090278595
Abstract: THE BRAITHWAITE PARTICLE TRAP, a small device that is for or used to generate limitless electrical power. THE BPT CIRCUIT works simply by using Like-Forces (+ verses +) and (? verses ?) or charges instead of Opposite-Forces (+ verses ?) to produce power or to increase electrical power greatly. In general, great electrical power exists not only by having a great flow of energy or current. Electrical power can be made to increase because there is a great isolation of particles set aside to perform a function at a later time. When used, the isolation of particles helps to accumulate opposite charges with sometimes its greatest potential. In other words, as soon as one particular charge (protons or electrons) or while those charges accumulate—or in the sense of protons—and are isolated, the POTENTIAL ENERGY gains force to observe atomic particles of its opposite nature.

  • Patent number: 7411772
Abstract: Techniques in which a 1st force, field, or effect caused by a Casimir effect is converted into a 2nd force, field, or effect. The 1st force, field, or effect might be distinct from the 2nd force, field, or effect only in the net vector or might be distinct in other ways. For example, the distinction might involve substituting a torque for a linear force vector or converting a force, field, or effect associated with the Casimir effect into movement or into an electric, magnetic, or electromagnetic force, field, or effect. These changes preferably are caused by an independent element placed proximate or between to the Casimir effect surfaces. Preferably, the torque causes rotation (i.e., spinning) of an element. This rotation is significantly different from prior-art embodiment because energy does not have to be put back into the system to “reset” the structures.

  • Patent number: 7379286
Abstract: A system is disclosed for converting energy from the electromagnetic quantum vacuum available at any point in the universe to usable energy in the form of heat, electricity, mechanical energy or other forms of power. By suppressing electromagnetic quantum vacuum energy at appropriate frequencies a change may be effected in the electron energy levels which will result in the emission or release of energy. Mode suppression of electromagnetic quantum vacuum radiation is known to take place in Casimir cavities. A Casimir cavity refers to any region in which electromagnetic modes are suppressed or restricted. When atoms enter into suitable micro Casimir cavities a decrease in the orbital energies of electrons in atoms will thus occur. Such energy will be captured in the claimed devices. Upon emergence form such micro Casimir cavities the atoms will be re-energized by the ambient electromagnetic quantum vacuum.

  • Patent number: 6940926
Abstract: A digital phase/frequency detector capable of being implemented with on-chip components and configured to detect signals having small modulation indices. Transition points within the signal are detected and the width between successive transition points measured and averaged. The average width measurements may be converted to width deviation values by subtracting out the width due to the carrier frequency. An interpolation may be performed between the current and previous values of the width deviation values to reduce quantization error. The interpolated values may be converted to frequency deviation values, and a predetermined number of the frequency deviation values may be averaged. The average frequency deviation values may then be equalized in order to reduce intersymbol interference. The resulting equalized values form soft estimates of the underlying source bits. Hard estimates of the source bits may then be derived from the soft estimates.

  • Patent number: 5821798
Abstract: To increase compatibility, a method is used to determine whether a bidirectional or a unidirectional data line circuit is connected to an interface circuit. A first logic level is generated on a non dedicated lead of the interface circuit if a bidirectional data line circuit is connected to the interface circuit. Otherwise, a second logic level is generated on the non dedicated lead of the interface circuit. The logic level on the non dedicated lead after a reset signal determines which type of data line circuit is connected to the interface circuit. Typically the non dedicated lead is a data line lead of the interface circuit and can be used for normal data transfer, if necessary, after detecting which type of data line circuit is connected to the interface circuit.

Abstract: Thick opaque ceramic coatings are used to protect delicate microelectronic devices against excited energy sources, radiation, light, abrasion, and wet etching techniques. The thick opaque ceramic coating are prepared from a mixture containing tungsten carbide (WC), tungsten metal (W), and phosphoric anhydride, i.e., phosphorous pentoxide (P.sub.2 O.sub.5), carried in an aqueous alkanol dispersion of colloidal silica and partial condensate of methylsilanetriol. The coating is pyrolyzed to form a ceramic SiO.sub.2 containing coating. A second coating of plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposited (PECVD) silicon carbide (SiC), diamond, or silicon nitride (Si.sub.3 N.sub.4), can be applied over the thick opaque ceramic coating to provide hermeticity. These coatings are useful on patterned wafers, electronic devices, and electronic substrates. The thick opaque ceramic coating is unique because the methyl silsesquioxane resin is resistant to etching using wet chemicals, i.e., acids such as H.sub.3 PO.sub.4 and H.sub.

  • Patent number: 5625310
Abstract: A signal processing apparatus is provided for processing first and second periodic analog signals having the same period and having a fixed phase relationship therebetween. The apparatus includes an A/D converter for converting respective amplitudes of the first and second periodic analog signals into first and second digital signals. The apparatus also includes a phase digitizer for generating a signal from the first periodic analog signal, the generated signal having a period that is shorter than the period of the first periodic analog signal, and a high speed signal processing portion for generating from the generated signal a periodicity and first phase information of the first periodic analog signal. The apparatus further includes a another signal processor for producing second phase information of the first periodic analog signal from the first and second digital signals, and for correcting the periodicity on the basis of the first phase information and the second phase information.

  • Patent number: 5606279
Abstract: A digital input is disclosed for supplying a digital signal representing the occurrence of a special event, such as a malfunction, to a recording device. The present invention can be advantageously used in a distribution network for electrical energy, in which the special event triggers the actuation of a switch in a switchgear. The digital input has two first current terminals, to which direct current is applied from an external voltage source. Two second current terminals are connected to a sensor element, for example an auxiliary contact of the switchgear, which outputs the digital signal when the special event occurs. An electrical circuit is also connected to the two second current terminals and carries the digital signal to an optocoupler which provides electrical isolation. The digital input furthermore has a device for converting the direct current supplied from outside the device into a direct current which is electrically isolated therefrom.
