    Abstract: An adjustable strap comprises an elongated length and mating fastening portions on one side of the strap adjacent to one end of the strap. Gaps or spaces between the mating fastening portions or members provide a tactile effect or response when adjusting the strap to the closed position. The strap is permanently or releasably secured at one end to an attachment point or stabilizing component. The opposite end with the mating fastening portions folds to mate the portions and secure the strap in a closed configuration. The length of the strap can wrap around an object to mate the fastening portions. Alternatively, the length can interact with an additional stabilizing component or guiding member before mating the fastening portions to secure the strap.

    Abstract: Systems and methods use a three-dimensional snapshot of an infant, child, adolescent, or adult where the subject may have bent legs and an unaligned head position, to provide an estimate of human length. The system identifies anatomical features from the digital information and generates a virtual skeleton. The cumulative distances between pseudo-joints of the virtual skeleton provide an estimate of human length. Comparing length estimates from multiple three-dimensional snapshots of the same individual acquired over time provide an indication of growth of the infant, child, or adolescent. Daily estimates of length can detect growth faltering sooner than less frequent estimates of length, which can lead to timely intervention.

A plurality of fitting zippers of the left bra wing and the right bra wing allows a bra fitting specialist to get the correct girth measurements of the wearer while a plurality of additional zippers of the breast plate enables the bra fitting specialist to get the correct measurement of the cup sized and the cleavage of the breasts. Then the measurements can be used to create a customized bra that fits the respective individual.

    Abstract: A tailoring system and apparatus for tailoring clothing wherein body measurements are photographically recorded for computer data entry from special form fitting articles of clothing to which disposable strips of tape measures are temporarily adhesively affixed. The customer wears a body suit consisting of a top, a sleeve, and a leg leotard to which the disposable measuring tapes are attached around predetermined circumferential portions. The measuring tapes are attached by small pieces of a double sided adhesive tape that do not stick to the body suit when the measuring tapes are removed. The customer then stands on an elevated platform in the corner of a specially designed room and vertical tape measures are positioned in a predetermined location. The room has a camera embedded in the wall facing the customer and another camera embedded in a wall facing one side of the customer. The walls facing the cameras are imprinted with a grid that indicates height and width dimensions.

    Abstract: A girth measuring device for making simultaneous multiple measurements of the girth of an elongate portion of a body along its length has a generally rectangular base member adapted to be placed along the elongate portion of the body being measured and has index marks along one longitudinal side. A drawbar at the outer ends of the measuring tapes allow them to be simultaneously extended from their retracted position and placed in encircling relation about the body portion being measured. The girth measuring device allows measurements to be taken of each tape to determine the girth of the body portion being measured at longitudinally spaced locations along its length.

The body dimensions of the person being measured are then inspected by a video camera having an output through a video cassette recorder and a computer capable of transmitting measurement date electronically to a remote location where it is received by receiving computer apparatus that converts the measurement signals to a wire frame representation of the exact body dimensions of the person. These body dimensions are then utilized for adjustment of an adjustable mannequin to the exact body dimensions of the person being measured. Thereafter, clothing is tailored to the adjustable mannequin and can then be delivered to the person without any necessity for additional adjustment.
