Traveling Markers Patents (Class 33/35)
  • Patent number: 8799943
Abstract: A method and system for manipulating a manifest is disclosed. A server receives a smart appliance a request for a manifest corresponding to a session identifier. The server retrieves from a session server a session manifest based on the session identifier. The server adjusts a session offset based on a difference in a session length represented by the session manifest from a session length represented by a previous session manifest corresponding to the session. When the session manifest comprises an address of an ad break, the server identifies in a cache at least one advertisement to be inserted into the session and replaces at least one address corresponding to at least one segment of the at least one advertisement in the session manifest based on the difference. The server transmits the session manifest to the smart appliance.

  • Patent number: 7564020
Abstract: A light detector system for use with a work-piece is provided. The light detector system can include a housing and at least one sensor coupled to the housing. The sensor can be responsive to a light source to generate a signal that indicates a location of the light source with respect to the housing. The light detector system can also comprise a marker coupled to the housing. The marker can be responsive to the signal to mark the location of the light source on a surface of the work-piece.

  • Patent number: 6952880
Abstract: A measurement and marking device includes a housing, a positional sensing assembly mounted in the housing, a printhead assembly mounted in the housing, and a controller mounted in the housing and communicating with the positional sensing assembly and the printhead assembly. The positional sensing assembly is adapted to sense a position of the housing relative to an object as the housing is moved along a surface of the object and the printhead assembly is adapted to print on the surface of the object as the housing is moved along the surface of the object. As such, the controller is adapted to operate the printhead assembly to print a mark on the surface of the object based on the position of the housing relative to the object as the housing is moved along the surface of the object.

  • Patent number: 5658245
Abstract: A therapeutic tension applying apparatus for applying tensile stress on a persons neck and spine while traveling, the apparatus is attachable to a vehicle seat or a mounting surface such as a ceiling within a vehicle. The apparatus provides adjustable, variable tension for the user and further includes a break-away-means which allows detachment of the apparatus from a chin strap or pad so as not to endanger the user, such as in the case of an accicent.

  • Patent number: 4862387
Abstract: This apparatus and method permit plotting a series of data values at an optimum scale expansion, even when the largest value is not known in advance, for permanent recording or transitory display. In response to each data value several display signals are derived, corresponding to representation of that data value at several different scale expansions. These several signals are used to position respective indicia on a visually readable medium. If desired the several display signals may all be recorded, as for example on magnetic tape, and the acutal plotting (i.e., production of indicia) performed later. The data-value magnitude is represented by respective displacements of the indicia in one direction from a baseline, at the several scale expansions. Thus indicia are produced for all of the scale expansions that correspond to on-scale positions. The medium moves relative to the indicia-producing apparatus, along a second, orthogonal direction.

  • Patent number: 4481713
Abstract: A reciprocating drafting pen device is provided for automatically lifting a technical pen and replacing it onto drafting paper while the pen is drawn transversely across the paper, for stippling, or for the drawing of various other interrupted lines. The apparatus includes a barrel, a piston mechanism disposed within the barrel and longitudinally movable therein, a technical pen held by the piston mechanism and movable therewith, including an ink reservoir and a pen nib extending out one end of the barrel. A guide foot is adjustably attached to one end of the barrel for maintaining a desired standoff between the barrel and the drafting paper to be inked. An electromechanical drive mechanism moves the piston mechanism longitudinally, and thereby also moves the drafting pen such that the nib is brought alternately into contact and out of contact with the drafting paper. Favorably, one or more adjustable piston stops can be provided for to facilitate removal of the technical pen from the piston mechanism.
