Patent number: 10052046Abstract: The disclosure provides apparatus and methods of use pertaining to a measurement template for use in allograft preparation and processing. Specifically, the template may be used to measure the trochlea angle of the trochlea groove of the distal human femur. The measurement template may be formed of a flat metal plate having first and second ends, each forming a different angle designed to fit against the trochlea groove and provide an indication of the angle of the groove in relation to the angles formed by the template. The trochlea angle of the allograft may then be documented, allowing for proper matching between allograft tissue and transplant recipient physiology. The measurement template may be adapted for a variety of configurations depending on desired and/or common allograft requirements. Other embodiments are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2015Date of Patent: August 21, 2018Assignee: AllosourceInventors: Brittany Nickolas, Christopher Mast, Todd Huft, Meghan Gabriel

Patent number: 7908755Abstract: An embodiment is an articulating straight-edge apparatus having an asymmetrical hub with a lobe having a flat edge. The hub has a bearing hole, an axle, a circular side with recesses which provide stopping at pre-set angles. There is a secant slotted channel through the lobe. The floor of the channel has depressions that provide stopping for translational shift. A connecting block is covered with a back and front plate. The block has an angle positioning SLD. The SLD impinges recesses as the hub is rotated. Additionally, there is a translational shift mechanism which includes a sliding rail in the channel. The rail has a SLD aligned to impinge a depression as the rail moves through the channel, therein stopping at a depression. Attached to the siding rail is a straight-edge element. The straight-edge serves as a carpenter's square, and can be adjusted angularly and translationally with manual force.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2009Date of Patent: March 22, 2011Inventor: Donald Jeffrey Rushing

Patent number: 5414938Abstract: An end of a rectangular scaled straight edge is pivotally connected to an end of a rectangular unscaled straight edge. The scaled straight edge has a longitudinal slot wherein a stem is retained by a compression lock. The stem passes through a hole in one end of a flat connecting bar that is disposed between a bearing of the compression lock and the scaled straight edge. The other end of the connecting bar is pivotally connected to the unscaled straight edge. When the lock is open, the stem is slidable within the slot, thereby providing an adjustable angle between the straight edges. When the lock is closed, the position of the stem is fixed within the slot, thereby sustaining a fixed angle between the straight edges.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1993Date of Patent: May 16, 1995Inventor: Donald G. Patent number: 4495708Abstract: A drawing head for a drawing machine has a base plate with a central bore. he base plate is nonrotatably attached to the drawing machine. A rotatable straightedge support under the base plate has a central pin extending through the central bore. A nonrotatable cover plate is mounted on the pin with a gripping knob above the base plate. A spacing ring is rotatably positioned between the base plate and the cover plate. Locking devices are provided for releasably retaining the straightedge support with respect to the spacing ring and for releasably retaining the spacing ring with respect to the base plate.
