Abstract: A grid system apparatus comprising a substantially planar base member and an attachment member. The base member has an upper surface and a lower surface opposite of the upper surface. The attachment member is mounted to the lower surface of the base and is compatible with the lower surface of the base which facilitates releasable attachment of the base member to an outside surface. The base member and the attachment member are configured as a plurality of border members which cooperate to define a plurality of voids therebetween. The border members include a plurality of outer border members defining an outer periphery thereof, and a plurality of inner border members defining the plurality of voids. The outer border members and the inner border members interface at intersection regions.

Abstract: Rulers and templates that are used to create several connected picots (or prairie points) made from a single piece of material, as well as methods for making and using such rulers, are described in this application. The rulers described in this application have a plurality of evenly spaced, alternating slots formed or cut in opposite, parallel edges of a substrate, resulting in evenly spaced, alternating tabs located on the opposite, parallel edges of the substrate. The ruler may be used to cut or mark material into connected squares that may be folded to make picots. The resulting picots are of uniform size and spacing, and are connected as a unitary piece of material.

Abstract: A method and system of decoration that includes selecting a particular wall covering pattern, selecting a particular fixture, and continuing the wall covering pattern substantially over the surface of the fixture. The fixture can be an electrical fixture such as a receptacle and/or receptacle cover or switch and/or switch cover or any other type of plate or receptacle. The final arrangement is such that the pattern on the fixture or receptacle almost perfectly matches the wall pattern causing the fixture to become almost invisible.

  • Patent number: 7685734
Abstract: A template allows a piping system installer to create a pipe fitting outline without requiring the installer to consult a manufacturer's catalog and without requiring the installer to plot dimensions with a measuring instrument. The template comprises marking holes corresponding to key locations of one or more pipe fittings. The installer marks the outline through template marking holes using a piece of chalk or other marking instrument. The installer removes the template and is left with an outline on the structure's surface comprising the pipe fitting's key locations. A set of fifty templates could cover almost all the needs of most installers with hundreds of different fitting dimensions covered in a set of fifty templates.

  • Patent number: 7647707
Abstract: A template designed to prepare various fabrics for the attachment of a decorative crocheted edge. The transparent triangular shaped template contains holes at equally spaced intervals with uniform distance from the edge of the template. The corner of the template has been designed with a radial edge for use as a pattern to cut fabric. This is done with a rotary cutter. An awl is inserted into each hole of the template piercing the fabric leaving it with exposed holes to affix the decorative crocheted edge. A marking instrument can be inserted into the holes to mark a consistent layout on the fabric for future piercing. Further, the template can be used for squaring and trimming the fabric prior to the piercing process.

Abstract: A template kit which consists of several different templates that can be used to mark or scribe openings for the installation of electrical boxes, box covers, and light fixtures in walls, cabinets, partitions, ceiling tiles, or any other flat surface. A generic version of a template in this kit is template 10. Each template in this kit will be made of a flat, transparent, and lightweight material 14 preferably plastic or Plexiglas. The thickness 12 of each template is approximately 3/32?. Each template will have either a “cross hair” or “dot” 16 marked on it to aid in aligning the template on a flat surface. The opening for the electrical junction box or box cover is marked on a surface around the periphery of the template. The periphery of each template in this kit are manufactured to a specific dimension to best match it to one of the many different shapes of electrical boxes, box covers, and light fixtures.

  • Patent number: 7603790
Abstract: A measuring gauge constructed of a transparent “L” shaped body having an elongated first arm and a second shorter arm disposed at 90 degrees to the first arm and defining a notch therein which forms a triangle with the first leg of the triangle angularly disposed with respect to the outer edge of the second arm. A plurality of indicia are carried by the two legs of the gauge. The indicia each include a center band sandwiched between outer bands with the inner and outer bands being of contrasting colors. The side edges of the gauge are inserted between the flaps and back panels of the envelope into engagement with a gum line and a depth of penetration is observed by determining the intersection of an edge of the envelope with the indicium along a side edge of the gauge thereby determining whether or not the envelope is in or out of specification.

  • Patent number: 7603787
Abstract: A mail measurement apparatus in the form of a generally rectangular prism having four sides and front and back surfaces. At least one of the sides includes an indentation with a specific depth and a specific breadth. When the side is placed against a flat surface, the indentation creates a gap between the apparatus and the surface. The depth of the gap corresponds to a maximum allowed thickness for a class of mail, while the breadth of the gap corresponds with either the maximum allowed width of length associated with the same class of mail. The other sides of the apparatus may include additional indentations of varying sizes which may correspond to other predetermined maximum dimensions allowed by a postal carrier for the same or other classes of mail.

Abstract: The roofing tile cutting template (20) is a guide for cutting roof tiles (38) near a valley intersection of two roof sections. The template is for use with tiles having a contoured surface. The template shares the contour of a particular type tile so that the template conforms to the surface of the tile when laid on the tile. The template includes one or more slots (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d, 22e) cut through the surface of the template to provide guides for ruling a cutting line on the tile. The template is positioned on a tile so that the slot corresponding to the geometry of the particular roof intersection intersects a mark placed on the tile indicating one dimension of the final cut tile. The lot is then used to rule an accurate cutting line on the tile.
