Burner Fuel Emitting Member With Respect To Electrode Spacing Patents (Class 33/652)
  • Publication number: 20040181957
Abstract: There is provided a nozzle assembly setting gauge that is secured to the nozzle assembly. The nozzle assembly setting gauge further includes a setting post that contacts the combustion head when the nozzle assembly is in the proper reset position. As an added feature the nozzle assembly setting gauge also includes an electrode adjuster that allows a technician to properly gap and position the electrode pair without reference to any manuals or the requirements of any special tools. The electrode adjuster can also be independent of the nozzle assembly setting gauge.

  • Patent number: 6108923
Abstract: A nozzle assembly setting gauge for use in an oil burner to gauge the optimal operating distance between a combustion head and a nozzle. The nozzle assembly setting gauge includes a holder for engaging the nozzle assembly and a head having a cross sectional thickness which defines the optimal operating distance. A technician installs the nozzle assembly setting gauge onto the nozzle assembly and fully inserts the nozzle assembly into oil burner until a front face of the nozzle assembly setting gauge contacts the combustion head. Next, the technician indicates the position of the nozzle assembly at this fully inserted position. The technician removes the nozzle assembly setting gauge and re-inserts the nozzle assembly to the indicated position.

  • Patent number: 4955143
Abstract: A method and apparatus checks and adjusts the relative position of electrodes which form a so-called underwater spark gap device, particularly for medical purposes, and in which one electrode is fastened to the base part by means of at least one electrode holder. The method and apparatus employ an adjusting arrangement which positions the electrodes at a desired position with respect to axial displacement, angularity between the axes, and electrode spacing. By means of a relative movement of the adjustment arrangement, in a direction which is vertical with respect to an electrode axis, the electrode holder or holders are plastically deformed in such a manner that the electrodes, after the rebounding of the electrode holder or holders, are located at the desired position.

  • Patent number: 4791734
Abstract: A tool for setting the width of a space between the tips of a pair of burner ignition electrodes so that an electrical spark will jump this gap, and the axial and radial distances of these tips forward of the center of a fuel nozzle outlet so that fuel discharged by the nozzle will be ignited smoothly and will not cause carbon deposits to build up on the tips. The nozzle is removably threaded in a threaded opening of a fuel supply pipe and is replaced by the tool during the setting operation. The tool has a threaded shank and a stop flange for supporting and positioning an annular groove of the tool so as to receive and set the ends of the electrode tips in the correct position. The groove is in an annular face formed by a shoulder of the tool and has an outer wall for holding the ends of radially extending electrode tips in the groove as the tool is rotated into a seated position in the fuel supply pipe opening.
