Patent number: 6466200Abstract: A computer input device used to input coordinates and three-dimensional graphical information into a computer. The device includes an acceleration sensor that has a fixed volume vessel containing a magnetic fluid. A non-magnetic inertial body is located in the magnetic fluid. Three magnetic field source are located on three perpendicular axes where each magnetic field source has an output for connection to a computer.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2000Date of Patent: October 15, 2002Assignee: Innalabs, Inc.Inventors: Suprun E. Patent number: 4536727Abstract: There is disclosed a mercury switch for use in thermostat applications. The switch has a hollow housing fabricated from glass and is positioned in the horizontal plane when in an operating orientation. The switch has a first common electrode within said housing and extending parallel to the horizontal plane with a terminal end extending from the housing. Positioned above the first electrode is a second shorter electrode with a third longer electrode positioned above said second electrode said third electrode being longer than said second but shorter than said first. Positioned above the third electrode is a longer fourth electrode. Essentially, major portions of the electrodes within the housing are parallel to each other. A charge of mercury is in the housing and operates to make contact between the electrodes in four operating modes indicative of thermostat operation for control of a heat pump, furnace and air conditioner.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 1984Date of Patent: August 20, 1985Assignee: Comus International Corp.Inventor: Robert P. Patent number: 4088222Abstract: An endless-conveyor monitoring switch assembly includes an elongated frame having a shaft journaled for rotation therein and extending longitudinally therealong. A drive wheel is attached to and rotatable with the shaft at a first end of the elongated frame and a detecting switch is attached to the shaft at the opposite end of the elongated frame. A seesaw, U-shaped, mounting member is attached to the elongated frame at a point intermediate the drive wheel and the detecting switch for mounting the elongated frame on an endless-conveyor cable support. The mounting member allows the weight of the elongated frame and its attachments to pivot the frame in a seesaw manner to bring the drive wheel into contact with the endless conveyor. The detecting switch includes a conductive disc mounted on the shaft adjacent to a pendulum having permanent magnets and mercury switches mounted thereon.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1977Date of Patent: May 9, 1978Inventor: Frank K. Hurt

Patent number: 3978301Abstract: A tilt switch formed of a cap and header welded together at their rims to form an enclosure, and assuming the rims to be horizontal, on electrode passing vertically through one of the cap and header via an insulator. The inside of the enclosure and the electrode are mercury wettable and only enough mercury is provided to wet the inner surface of the enclosure with a thin layer of mercury, plus a small pool of mercury into which the electrode extends while the electrode is vertical or within a predetermined small conical angle from the vertical, the pool of mercury responding to gravity to bare the electrode when the predetermined conical angle is exceeded by tilting the switch.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 1975Date of Patent: August 31, 1976Assignee: Fifth Dimension Inc.Inventor: Sheldon S. Bitko
