  • Publication number: 20110038190
Abstract: An inductive coupled power transmission circuit has a rotating transformer, including an AC voltage supply for feeding an AC voltage via a series capacitor into the primary winding of said rotating transformer and a load being coupled to the secondary winding of said rotating transformer. The AC voltage supply includes a line rectifier for receiving AC voltage from a power line and generating a DC voltage. This is fed into a DC/DC converter for converting the DC voltage from the line rectifier into a controlled intermediate DC voltage. An AC generator generates an AC voltage from the intermediate DC voltage and feeds this via a matching transformer into the primary winding of the rotating transformer. A measuring circuit measures voltages and/or currents within the AC voltage supply and a function generator estimates voltage and/or current values at the load based on the measured values and controls the DC/DC converter and/or the AC generator based on the estimated values.

Abstract: The invention relates to a transponder system for the contactless inductive power transmission of a stationary part having at least one read coil (2) disposed on the stator (1) to a rotating part having at least one transponder coil (4) disposed on a spindle (3). The aim of the invention is to provide a transponder system of the aforementioned kind which can be used for self-sufficient sensor applications even in the vicinity of metal materials and noise fields caused by electric motors conventional in mechanical engineering. For this purpose, the surrounding (5) of the read coil (2), especially the stator is produced from a material having little magnetic permeability and good electrical conductivity, preferably aluminum. The transponder coil (4) and/or the read coil (2) are disposed as flat coil (6) on the inside and/or outside of a cylindrical periphery (9, 10) of the stator and/or rotor (11).

  • Patent number: 7750507
Abstract: An electronics support apparatus for rotating electronics is provided that eliminates the need for electrical contact brushes and/or reduces the number of inductive power coupling coil pairs required to provide power to the rotating electronics. With the apparatus, a single inductive power coupling coil pair is utilized in which the coils are oriented at approximately 90 degrees, i.e. at a right angle, to each other, e.g., the “outer” coil (secondary transformer coil) is oriented approximately 90 degrees to the “inner” coil (primary transformer coil). A transformer core, or “elbow core,” having an approximately 90 degree bend is provided for coupling the magnetic energy of the primary transformer coil with the secondary transformer coil, thus imparting or coupling energy simultaneously through 2 axes of motion.
