With Interval Predetermining Or Adjustment Means Patents (Class 337/93)
  • Patent number: 5021762
Abstract: A thermal cycling switch has an insulated housing carrying a centrally located rotating cam. The cam operates a first ON/OFF switch connectable between a pair of contacts that are connected to one side of a load and one power line. The rotary cam also moves an adjusted contact mounted on an adjustable arm which cooperates with a cyling arm contact to operate as another switch between the other side of the load and another power line. The cycling arm includes a bimetal member which is electrically insulated at the base, as well as a current conducting strip formed of pure nickel metal extending along the low expansion side of the bimetal member.

  • Patent number: 4337451
Abstract: An electrical switch construction having a housing carrying a thermally cyclable switch blade unit and an adjustable set lever switch blade unit cooperable with the cyclable switch blade unit when the set lever switch blade unit is moved relative to the housing to an operating position thereof by an actuator that is carried by the housing, the housing carrying a calibrating unit for calibrating the set lever switch blade unit. The set lever switch blade unit includes a resilient switch blade having opposed ends and an ambient bimetal lever unit having opposed ends, one of the opposed ends of the switch blade and the ambient bimetal unit being secured together and being the part of the set lever switch blade unit that cooperates with the thermally cyclable switch blade unit.

  • Patent number: 4243967
Abstract: A thermostat adapted to regulate the temperature of a given space. The thermostat has a temperature setting lever movable between a plurality of temperature settings within a pair of temperature ranges and also a mode selecting lever movable between a heating position, an off position and a cooling position. Means respectively associated with the temperature setting lever and the mode selecting lever is provided to effect the movement of the mode selecting lever from one of the heating position and cooling position thereof through its off position to the other of the heating position and cooling position thereof in response to the movement of the temperature setting lever from one of its temperature settings of the plurality thereof within one of the temperature ranges toward another of its temperature settings within the other of the temperature ranges.A method of operating a thermostat is also disclosed.
