Abstract: A flame reaction member for a gas appliance has a flame reaction material carrier having a coiled or looped flame reaction material holding portion and flame reaction material carried on the flame reaction material holding portion. When manufacturing such a flame reaction member, a powder composition of the flame reaction material is molded into a body of a predetermined shape. The molded body is heated with the molded body held adjacent to the flame reaction material holding portion and is fused to the flame reaction material holding portion. The flame reaction material holding portion of the flame reaction material carrier is formed of flat wire material.
Abstract: A push button variable resistor device includes a hollow push button seat member confining a receiving space, and at least one resistor piece fixed inside the seat member. The resistor piece has a contact portion and at least one leg portion projecting outward through a base portion of the seat member. A spiral spring resistor is disposed inside the receiving space of the seat member above the resistor piece. The spring resistor has a plurality of concentric turns of varying diameters. A push button is slidably fitted through a button opening of the seat member. The spring resistor hs a topmost turn cooperatively associated with the push button. The push button is externally pushed to compress the spring resistor to cause the concentric turns to contact the resistor piece. The contact area between the spring resistor and the resistor piece varies according to the degree of depression of the push button to correspondingly vary the output resistance of the variable resistor device.

Abstract: A resistance heater for performing heat treatment of the braze-affected area of a metallic sleeve attached by brazing within and to a metallic tube, comprises a metal tube (10) of which a portion (16) is formed with a spiral groove (11) which penetrates the wall thickness of the tube (10) and thereby defines a heating coil. The radial thickness of the convolutions of the coil varies lengthwise of the coil so that, when energized with electrical current, the coil develops a temperature profile which is determined by the variation in radial thickness.
